Chapter 28

Cassian's POV

I had been standing at the edge of the cliff for three hours, watching the search parties come up empty-handed for the third day in a row. The river below churned over rocks that had seen a thousand years of blood and rain. There was no sign of a body or a vehicle. There was no sign of an accident.

My phone buzzed. It was another update from the east quadrant. They had gotten nothing, the west quadrant too, nothing.

Chapter 99: The CeremonyElara's PovWe finally arrived at the palace as I limped towards the maid's quarters, not wanting to be seen by the Luna.I sluggishly made my way through the bustling people, feeling like a misfit among the lively activities. The air crackled with energy, there was a sense of anticipation that hung in the atmosphere, and I couldn't help but feel a pang of unease. The grandeur of the palace overwhelmed me, its towering walls and intricate architecture serving as a testament to the power and prestige of the ruling Alpha.Amidst the vibrant activity, my fellow loners, led by Zoey seemed to have abandoned me after what the strange lady had said.Their glances conveyed disapproval as if my presence was a harbinger of bad luck."Don't come with us. Find your way yourself." Zoey spat and with a heavy heart, I trudged towards the maids' quarters, the murmuring of the palace staff filling my ears."What's a cripple doing here? Who are you please?" A maid asked with a

Chapter 98: The Alpha's RejectionElara's Pov"What have you done? Now he is coming towards us." I spat at my wolf Riley."Elara." He called out, as I whimpered."Why are you always going against my rules?" He asked as I let out a gulp."Come here." He said dragging me away."Why did you look me in the eyes earlier? Is it because we grew up together and you think you have the right to always disobey my commands? Don't think I can't kill you just because you saved my sister's life." He said."Now, I hope no one knows you once grew with me. I'm so glad my father's dead. You don't know how hard it was calling a lame my sister." With that, he took some steps backward like I was some kind of disease."Don't you dare look me in the face again. You are nothing but a pathetic sad omega. You're a loner."And with that, he walked out with so much pride.I was a pathetic omega right from birth, but at least I wasn't a loner. That was my only joy. It seemed everyone had forgotten I wasn't a loner

Chapter 97: The Omega's FateElara's Pov"This bed is nothing more than a few straw mats thrown haphazardly on top of each other, with a threadbare blanket serving as a cover," I whispered to Betty, exhausted from another sleepless night.I tried to get comfortable, but the bed bugs crawling all over my body made me itch and squirm.I looked over at my roommates, who were scrunched up together in the tight room. Their clothes were dirty and tattered, barely hanging on to their frail bodies."Do you guys ever sleep?" I asked, half-jokingly.One of them, a young girl with matted hair and sunken eyes, looked at me wearily."Not much point in trying," she said. "The bed bugs keep us up all night."I nodded in agreement, and we all sat in silence for a few moments, lost in our thoughts. But our peace was short-lived, as the bell rang out, signaling the start of a new day.I groaned as I sluggishly got up, searching for my crutches in the dark."I hate mornings," I muttered to myself. But m

  • Bound by the Alpha's Contract   96: The Claim

Chapter 96:Elara's PovI was torn between two identical brothers. Alpha Cassian had a twin nobody knew existed. My father gasped immediately, rising to his feet."Alphas please…" But he suddenly stopped speaking and fell face flat. My mother ran towards him. I didn't know which of the brothers was responsible, but I was trembling. The pack froze, no one said a word."Who gave out my mate to Alpha Cassian?" The new Alpha thundered, this time, his voice was not so cool and there was something dark and dangerous about him.No one dared give a response. My eyes went from father back to the brothers."Let her go, Rowan." Cassian commanded, his grip on me hardened and the room immediately got chilly, but Alpha Rowan didn't flinch.I froze in the center, my wrists still caught between two men, their power pressing in harder. They were both claiming me, and strangely… I liked it.The thought of them fucking me made my chest tighten in a strange, exhilarating way."Fuck Elara, when did we get

Elara's PovI knew that scent. It was too familiar and it screamed danger. My grandma died protecting me from this creature. I looked around but couldn't see anything.I was sixteen, the same night I met Kael."Run, Elara," she had said. "No matter what you hear, do not come back for me."I remember the crack of bone and her scream cutting short."What the hell do you want from me?"Panic made my chest burn and my lungs heaved as I screamed for help, but I knew it was no use, because his powers subdued mine and our world.I stumbled blindly and my body slammed forward, but before I could hit the floor, strong arms caught me."You shouldn't be screaming unless you want every predator in the night to know your scent," he said with a low amused voice. I looked around me and I was already outside the castle gate, deep in the woods, thanks to Riley's speed."Were you running from danger… or towards it, princess? Because on a night like this, you shouldn't be out." The stranger corrected an

Chapter 94Elara's PovSlow footsteps echoed behind me and I hoped I had heard Riley wrongly. But now she had even gone deadly silent. How could the monster Alpha be my mate? I was as good as dead then.I turned around in fear, expecting to see the monster I met two years ago, but what I saw was different.Alpha Kael Draven stood in the corridor. His black coat fell perfectly against his broad shoulders and his expression wasn't cruel, just fixed. Fixed on me, my body like a wolf ready to devour. The servants present all dropped to one knee after seeing the man they always heard about. But he didn't glance at them. His eyes were just locked on me."Leave," he said calmly, but they hesitated with fear."Now." That was all it took before they vanished. Now, I was all alone with him in the corridor. I could feel his eyes from the hall still fixed on me.Riley stirred. "Steady," she whispered. "Do not show your throat.""Is he our mate? Can you communicate with his wolf?" She was quiet fo
