Breaking Free

    Davina's point of view

    I groaned weakly from exhaustion. My back hurts, and that too my legs. I shuddered from the cold that emitted from marble floors. My eyes pried open. I recognized the familiar decor of my room. I helped myself up to sit upright. I was in the middle of the lavench ashes I had spread around in a circle. The red candles had burned completely. I wiped off the blood stain that dripped from my nose. I remembered the spell, and then my mind lingered on Aline. I wondered if she was able to find Benjamin. The curiosity was eating me alive. I cleaned up the room and kept aside everything I used for the spell.

     I felt awfully weak, physically and even magically. I went to the bathroom for a shower, hoping it will relieve me. Even after the cold shower I still felt weak. I fell on the bed, having my head ache badly. My slender hands trailed my tummy, caressing it gently. I whispered to the livin
