Chapter 9

Eleanor

After speaking with Emil all day, things became boring and more boring. I walked the long road along the mansion, deceiving myself that I was jogging. When I was a child, I had always wanted to be a great athlete, but as I grew up, it turned out it was all just about stress and we'll still die. Why live a stressful life?

Speaking of stress, I regretted taking the walk, I ended up walking farther than I should. Initially, it was boredom that got me into that position.

Around 8:30, Emil called me. He kept on asking me to go to school tomorrow. I can't even picture it. The thought of seeing Jess and Van? Or being asked where I've been? They probably think I'm dead.

I shuddered, thinking about Jess and Van being hectic. I'd rather sit in my cave. My chest was burning with the desire to know what was going to happen if I showed up in school, but a part of me keeps saying hell no!

I was on my way to meet the maids when my phone rang.
