WRITER'S POV

Marcus sat on his chair, restlessly waiting for the meeting to be done with.

He had just had the meeting with Logan, the one they were supposed to have had before everything came crashing down.

He was anxious to be done with it and go meet Naomi again. He hadn't seen her since last night and he missed her.

He looked out to the table, the sight of Logan, Dax and Logan's beta, a tall brooding man called Elias as they all deliberated on when next was the best time to meet greeted his eyes.

He cleared his throat and spoke, “So what have we decided is the theme going to be? We could still ask Naomi to give us suggestions"

They all turned to him, surprised by his words. He hadn't said more than a few words since the meeting had proceeded.

Logan shrugged and said in agreement “I think we can do that"

Marcus had learned to tolerate Logan but never quite liked him. He needed him to make the festival a success and Naomi wanted him around, that was all.

He wished he could j

WRITER'S POV Marcus knew that this was a way of her coping. She tried to change the conversation but he went along with it. "No I haven't, not yet. I was swamped with work when I came back last night and there wasn't enough time for that” he replied. Naomi made a small sound and fell silent. Marcus wished he could be there, hold her for as long as she needed it. He wished he could provide the comfort he so desperately wanted too. He also wished she would ask for it. She had been strong for too long and if it continued like this, she would break down eventually. He cleared his throat before speaking, "I'll be there soon Nami, I've just got to deal with a lot here”She replied, "Logan is coming to take me to the hospital soon, so maybe you can meet us there” "I will” he answered quietly. He wanted to say those words, he so desperately wanted to add them into his sentence but he didn't. He couldn't, she hadn't forgiven him yet. The call fell silent before Naomi finally ended the c

  • Bound with Shadows    CHAPTER 99: FAILURE

WRITER'S POV Naomi woke up with a feeling that something was wrong, she didn't know what and why she felt that way. She had slipped back into a dreamless state, the voice she had heard didn't cause any nightmares but still she felt something somewhere wasn't right exactly. She stood up from her bed and looked around as if she would find it but as expected everything looked the same. There was nothing amiss. Outside her window, she saw the flowers and plants sway to the music of the wind. It looked like it would be a rainy day. She brushed her teeth and took a shower. The feeling still niggling in her. When she had dressed she left her room for the dining room. Mom and dad would be there she knew. Just as she expected, they were there. They say next to each other in conversation so they didn't notice immediately when Naomi came in until she cleared her throat. They looked up sharply, their faces relaxing when they saw it was her. “Good morning sweetie" her dad said standing u

  • Bound with Shadows    CHAPTER 98: DREAMLESS NIGHTS

WRITER'S POV Naomi wanted to keep what she had found a secret to herself, at least this. She didn't want them to know yet of this third eye, how she could gain it. She needed guidance from the only person she could trust, the white lady. She was the only one who could tell her what to do. She looked up from the book after skimming to the last page and in fake exasperation she said “I didn't find anything" Marcus and Logan groaned together, in a different situation Naomi would have found it funny but not in this. “Well, that was all I could find for today. Maybe I'll search some more" Marcus said. She nodded her head, she didn't think there was more but who knew, lately there had been too many surprises. Logan's phone rang, he looked down at it, when he saw the number he swiftly declined, he wasn't in the mood for any of that especially not at the moment. He turned to Naomi and said, “I'll be staying in the guest room. One of us needs to be around to make sure you're safe and s

  • Bound with Shadows    CHAPTER 97: THE THIRD EYE

WRITER'S POVNaomi sat lost in her thoughts while Logan skimmed through the story. He read attentively but there really wasn't anything too surprising yet, nothing new registered and it seemed as if he knew about it already, but he only knew a little bit and the true story was different from what he had learnt himself. Marcus paced the room, he was thinking about the drugs sent, another attempt at her life. He wasn't so sure she was safe here anymore. What if they sent another rogue? What if they came in a group like they had before. He had set the wolves around the house to make sure they had their eyes on all activity around the house but right now he couldn't be sure. He thought back to what he had read in the book, who the oathed was. He wasn't too sure that was who Naomi was yet but the possibility was the highest. She did portray some of those abilities, especially her good leadership and desire to keep peace if she could. All three of them were lost in their worlds, they

  • Bound with Shadows    CHAPTER 96: THE OATHED

NAOMI'S POV I couldn't deny the nervousness in me, it could be seen the slight shakiness of my hands. I didn't know what I would find even though I was eager to find out. “I'm reading in the oathed" I told both Marcus and Logan. They stared at me when I said that, a face of uneasiness on them, as if they weren't so sure anymore. I had to do it anyway. I looked back down and began to read. The oathed was a prophecy from the moon goddess to the third prophetess ordained by her. Created by her when she noticed the packs had begun to divide amongst themselves. The population had risen so large, the wolf population couldn't be easily controlled, the night wolf had just died not long ago and so he couldn't come again so soon. It would disrupt the cycle of nature. So she prophesied the rise and creation of the oathed, a magical being with great power. They would be created to bring peace among the packs, a way to call all the alphas together and create a kingdom. The oathed was fo

  • Bound with Shadows    CHAPTER 95: THE SYMBOL

NAOMI'S POV I looked at the books, the one with the white cover that it almost looked like a notebook and the other one, brown and I could smell the age on it. The fact that maybe I would finally learn something made me excited, I couldn't hide it, I saw this when I looked up to see both Marcus and Logan staring at me with small smiles. I rolled my eyes and looked back to the books. I decided to start with ancient magic. I opened the brown book to view the dusty pages inside. I was so fascinated with it that I didn't hear anything else, my eyes stayed on the pages. I read the first page which was a complication of all the chapters in the book. Starting from the history of magic to how to keep the bloodline pure. That word again, bloodline, I thought. I read it one by one to see what I could find on this oathed, there wasn't anything special. Nothing relating to that or close to it. As I scanned the page again I saw a heading, ‘ritual’ it read. It looked interesting and ma
