Liam POV

The moment I nodded my head, she swung her arms towards me and snaked them around my waist as she hugged me tightly. “I thought it was over between us,” she whispered into my ears.

“Over?!”

I pulled myself a bit from her as my gaze pierced through her. I mean no one can deny how perfectly contoured her face is. So perfect!

“I've been worried sick about you! What are you talking about, Charlotte?” My voice was horrible.

“I've arrested Doctor Philip and his counterparts. They will rot in jail if even a pinch of your hair is touched. Trust me!” I added.

As my words escaped from my lips, she gazed at me with so much uncertainty, and I could feel it. She felt lost, and it was as if someone had told her otherwise.

She parted her lips to say some words but pinched them together again. At that moment, it was as if no one was close to us; we were just in our world. However, it's not like that.

“Do you care about me this much? I mean…I can't even believe you looked for me when you couldn't find me at the hospital to the extent of arresting the hospital officials,” she finally spoke.

“What about…? It's fine. But as you can see I'm doing great,” her voice suddenly stuttered.

“Come on, say it. Anything at all. I'm ready to give you a listening ear,” my voice was like a plea.

The gentleman who opened the door first for us, cleared his throat all of a sudden. It's as if he's drawing our attention.

But the moment Charlotte mentioned my name, he observed he murmured some words on his lips.

“Oh, my bad, let's go in so I can introduce him to you,” she said as she took me by hand.

I couldn't help it as my stomach was giving a curious twist. What was causing the noise earlier? My mind couldn't shift from it as we strolled in.

Just as she opened the door again, I was shocked to the core and my mind was jumbled in a mess. “We're leaving since you don't want my condolences!”

I let go of Charlotte's hand as it was like a lie to me. What the heck is this bastard doing here in my wife's parents’ house?

“You know what, Alyssa? You can go to hell!” And I know what you and your heartless did, trust me, we will get to the root of it!” Charlotte exclaimed, her angered voice pierced through me.

“Wow!” The lady shouted and gave a sarcastic round of applause.

“You know your problem. You're pained and you can't deny it. You can never have him anymore; the earlier you believe in your reality, the better for you! Just a piece of advice!”

“What! You disgust me, Alyssa! What the heck should I be worried about?” Charlotte asked.

“Charlotte, you don't need to fight her anymore. It's not worth it and you know,” her brother tried to stop her.

“What's going on here, Charlotte? I'm all lost,” I finally asked as my brows furrowed.

“Wow! Wow!” The bastard replied with a step towards me.

“So you don't have any work to do with your precious, huh? And you're now stalking me right?” Oliver, the CEO of the Keller group, asked, and the disgust in me was so evident.

“What are you talking about, Mister man? How dare you speak to him like that in my own house?!” Charlotte replied to him as I was about to land a hot slap on his face.

“What! Why are you defending him? Like my wife said earlier, are you pained? I mean you wrecked of it!” Oliver exclaimed.

I clenched my hands into a fist as my knuckles turned white. “How dare you!”

“Wait a minute! What the heck is happening? Do you know who my husband is?” Alyssa spoke, her voice heartlessly cold, almost harsh.

“Oliver Keller, the CEO of the Keller group, the most striving company in the whole city,” she added.

Charlotte gave a brief smile. “You don't know what you're talking about. Do you know your problem? You're insane!” Charlotte replied, her jaw clenched.

“Charlotte, let's go in. I will handle this the right way at the right time,” her brother tried to stop her.

Oliver got near me as his breath fanned my skin. “Stop stalking me! And don't think it's over between us! I'm going back for you!” He threatened me.

I gave a smile, “This is baseless, and you know that! Don't feel you're important while you're just a scumbag!”

“Should I brief your wife on who you are? Because she needs to know the bastard she exchanged vows with,” I added.

“Don't dare me, Liam!”

“Baby, let's get out of here! My father will definitely hear this and he will be so disappointed,” Alyssa spoke and broke through our conversation.

“Your father? You both can go to hell!” Charlotte replied.

“Let's go in,” her brother said. He seems so calm and welcoming.

We strolled in the moment they drove off. “Are they gone now?” A lady of almost the same age as Charlotte asked.

“Come over for lunch. Everything is set,” she added and we walked towards it.

As we sat down, Charlotte cleared her throat. “I'm sorry you have to witness that. I'm not proud of what you saw earlier,” she apologised.

“Come on, it's fine. I totally understand,” I assured her. At the moment, I hoped she wouldn't question me about Oliver Keller as I'm not ready to talk about that bastard for now.

“Okay, I didn't expect to set eyes on you again. Ruby made it look like we're over,” she revealed.

“What! Ruby?! How dare she!”

“It's fine. Meet my only brother, Ethan, and his wife, Daisy,” she finally introduced her brother to me.

“Wow! It's a pleasure to finally meet your family member,” I said.

“My pleasure is ours,” Ethan responded and the wife nodded.

“Meet my flash husband; Liam Blackwood,” she said with a brief laugh.

“What? Flash husband?”

“Wow! He looks great!” Daisy said but Ethan's mouth remained agape.

“Liam Blackwood? Is it the CEO of the Blackwood Corporation? No way!” Ethan replied as she gulped some water.

“The multi-billion company in the whole of New York?” He added.

I mean I'm not surprised. No matter how I tried to hide my identity, it wasn't possible.

“Yes, he's the one!” Charlotte admitted as she curled her body around me.

“What! He's way richer than that so-called Oliver Keller!” He screamed.

As the snippets of conversations floated, my phone buzzed loudly, breaking through it. “Boss, you have a call,” Norman said as he handed it over to me.

The moment the caller ID flashed on my face, chills went down my spine, and my mind was floating. Why the heck is she calling me? Did Ruby inform her about anything she's not supposed to?

As my mind whirled, I replied to the call. “Hey, Mom!”

“So this is it, Liam?” She asked a ridiculous question.

“What happened, mom?! I hope you're not calling to say what you clearly know I don't want to hear,” I asked.

“Come on son. You can continue to be with her if you only want to nurture another man's child!” She threw that bomb out to me that hit me like a volcanic eruption and my heart hammered in my chest.

What the hell does she mean by that?!

And I really do appreciate you,” I tried to calm my nerves down.“Yeah, he seems to be in a hurry, that's why he left,” Daisy's voice broke through me.I halted as a soft gasp escaped from my lips. “You're already on your way, right? I'm sorry for making you wait though. You should have at least informed my brother to alert me of your coming,” I uttered and gave a brief smile. He glanced up at me with his lips pursed. “Probably, he just wanted to surprise us even though your brother is not aware of his coming,” Daisy responded without hesitation.“Oh really?” I raised a haughty brow.“By the way, I hope those kidnappers have been dealt with?
