"AS YOU CAN see... she is looking alright," Alpha Jake said. "She can be your servant or even your mistress."

The guest scoffed. "Mistress? I don't think so. She is not my type." He looked away from me and accepted Alpha Jake's handshake.

I heaved a sigh of relief.

I leaned closer to Finn and asked, "Who is that?"

It was Trixie that replied me. "That... is Alpha Ezra from Scotland." She said. "And you're going to be one of his sex slaves." She giggled. "Father is selling you off."

I turned to Finn, he simply shrugged as if to say "there's nothing I can do about it." I looked at Alpha Ezra, he cast an intimidating figure. He was physically bigger than Alpha Jake with a thick bushy beard and brooding eyebrows. He had on a thick fur coat around, making him even larger.

There was a gentle chatter in the hall as different mated people got familiar with each other. I cocked my head slightly, trying to get what Alpha Jake and Alpha Ezra were talking about.

"Does the deal still stand?" Jake asked.

Ezra looked around lazily. "Maybe. I need to see Caid, first. I need to see that he is still in one piece."

Jake nodded. "Oh I assure you, he is still in one piece. But only because of you."

Ezra scoffed, taking a lazy sip of wine before asking, "Now, the girl... what of her parents?"

"Dead. It was her fault they died." Alpha Jake's words cut through my heart like hot spears.

Ezra must have sensed my distress because he turned his head and looked at me. I quickly averted my gaze, but he already saw me staring. Alpha Jake followed Ezra gaze, his eyes hardened at me. "Go and pack whatever things you have left. You will be leaving with Alpha Ezra at dusk."

I bowed my head in submission and stood up. I walked out of the pack hall and went to the packhouse. The tiny room assigned to me was near the attic. I pushed open the door and walked in. There was nothing to pack. I picked up my toothbrush from a cupboard and looked around. Nothing.

"This is the perfect time to escape," Thea said, "Jump through the window, i will take over before you land and we will be out of here before anyone notices."

I considered the idea. It was a very good one. I walked up to the window sill. It was sealed shut by layers of paint.

"We could break through the glass," Thea said again. Her pain had transformed to anger. "Easy job."

I rested my forehead against the glass pane and closed my eyes. I imagined myself free and running in the wild.

"Hey, Adrienne," I voice made me turn around. Jermaine, the future Alpha stood at my doorframe. He was bent forward slightly because the door was too short for his 6feet 2inches build.

"Hi," I mumbled, wondering what he was doing here.

He walked in slowly. "I heard you were leaving,"

I nodded and sat on my thin mattress. What was this all about? I didn't want to point out that it was his father that was sending me away.

He sat beside me and took my hand. "I'm sorry for everything. I know it wasn't your fault."

I felt Thea's ears perk. "Something is off about him," she said. "I can feel it." I slowly eased my hand away from his. "Thank you, Jermaine." I told him.

He nodded. Then he stood up and turned to look around the small room. "Can I help you pack or something?"

I shook my head. "I've got it. Thanks."

He walked towards the door, but he did not step out. Instead, he closed it and locked it.

"What are you doing, Jermaine?" I asked. My heartbeat started picking up and pounding.

He had a twisted gleam in his eyes as he looked at me. "What I've always dreamed about..." He approached me.

"What?" I jumped to my feet and retreated, but there wasn't much space to run. The room was very tiny.

"Oh yeah," he said. "I've always dreamed of this. But i did not want to make it very obvious because of your status. I would he mocked and laughed at if anyone knew I wanted to fuck you so bad. And now, you are leaving. I can't just let you go..." His hands went to his belt buckle.

"Jermaine, please don't do this..." I begged. My back was pressed against the wall.

His hands paused and he looked up at me. The smile he gave me was not one I recognized. "Don't fight me, Adrienne. Let this be enjoyable for both of us." He shrugged. "I would enjoy this either way, but I want you to enjoy it too..." His trousers dropped.

"B-but my m-mate..."

"Don't lie to me, Adrienne," He snarled, taking a step forward. "You are not a wolf, you can't have a mate. Besides, Trixie told me over the mindlink that my dad killed a man that claimed you were his."

I remembered the few seconds of being mated and anger filled my heart.

He pressed himself against me and brought his mouth on mine. His tongue prodded and invaded my mouth.

"Get off," I pushed him off with a strength I did not know I possessed. He stumbled back.

I made a run for it but he yanked me back by my hair and pushed me on the bed.

"You asked for it, bitch!" He snarled, slapping me hard against my cheek. He pinned my body down with his weight and tore at my dress. My cheeks stung as I wiggled underneath him.

"I order you to stay down!" His Alpha voice boomed.

Instantly, I calmed down. I watched his eyes sparkled at my submission. He licked his lips once and lowered his upper body to kiss me again.

His alpha comman over me quickly faded off. "I. Said. Get. Off!" I brought my knee up to his groin hard and kicked him off and got to my feet. I started to run out again but Thea stopped me. "We need to teach this one a lesson!" She said, and I agreed. I turned to look at him on the floor, his eyes glowed bright gold.

"Get back on the bed!" He snarled.

For the first time in over 10 years, Thea came out. I growled and stepped up to stand over him. "I've always wanted to do this to someone in your family, too bad that it has to be you." I drew my leg back and kicked him in the chin.

His head whipped to the side, but he recovered quickly. Shock. Fear. Disbelief. They all mixed in Jermaine's face as he got to his feet. He growled, his eyes flashing and his Alpha aura was stronger than ever, I expected Thea to back down, instead, she growled back. I walked closer to Jermaine.

"You're not feeling horny anymore?" She sneered.

His eyes faltered, but didn't leave my face. "Y-your eyes. They're glowing red. You were hiding and keeping this a secret all these time..."

I scented his fear was stronger than his confidence, I brought my hand up to his neck. "Next time... when a girl says no..." I tightened my grip. "You leave her alone." His eyes widened when he realized that he couldn't pry my finger away. "Do you hear me?"

He nodded vehemently and I let him go. He fell to his knees, clasping his throat and coughing. "What type of werewolf are you?" He wheezed with a hoarse voice.

I smiled and turned away, walking out the door and slamming it behind me. I was never coming back here, even if Alpha Ezra wanted to keep me a slave, it would be easier for me to leave his pack and become rogue.

I walked downstairs. Finn stood at the front door. "Are you alright?"

I scoffed. "Should I be alright? I'm being pawned off to another Alpha and you're okay with it."

Finn pulled me close and whispered. "I am not okay with it, but what can I do?" His eyes darted around before he continued, "I am going to come for you. We will survive on our own, i didnt know Alpha Jake was like this. He killed your mate..."

"You're saying you are willing to go rogue?" I asked, looking up at my brother's face.

He nodded. "If Ezra treats you like --"

"What are you both doing?" Alpha Jake's voice rang out fron behind me.

"Telling her my goodbyes, sir." Finn said, pulling me into a hug. "Stay strong, sis" He whispered into my hair. "You smell like... Jermaine. Did he--"

I shook my head. I knew what he was thinking.

"Her new Alpha is waiting for her, boy," Jake snarled. "Unless you want to go with her."

Finn let me go. He studied my face for a few seconds before letting me go. A limosuine pulled over and the door opened.

"Go on," Alpha Jake took a step towards me. Trixie gave me the middle finger as I got into the car. As the door closed behind me, I saw Jermaine hobbling forward slowly. His hands gripped his groin area tenderly. I chuckled, I might have just ended his bloodline with that kick to his balls.

I chuckled softly at his discomfort.

"You did that to your Alpha's son?" A voice beside me made me jump in my seat.

I turned to see a smirk on alpha Ezra's face. His eyes were pinned on Jermaine as we pulled away. I bowed my head, unable to meet his gaze.

"You don't need to be scared of me," he said softly. "I have a mate, whom I love very much. So you are not going to be warming my bed."

I looked up at him defiantly. "So what do you want with me?"

He scoffed and looked away. "When we get to my pack, you'll see."

*KINCAID'S P.O.V*HE COULD FEEL himself. Which was a very weird sensation because he was fluid, like water. He was without form or physical body. He was without a body.It was like he was floating in a dark abyss. He saw a tiny speck of light in the far distance, but the more he tried to go towards the light, the more he drifted away no matter how hard he tried to swim towards the light. Finally, exhausted, he closed his eyes which didn't exist, and allowed the darkness to envelop him.Time did not exist in this realmAm I dead? He wondered."Come..." "Come..." He heard with his nonexistent ears. It was like a soft voice came from everywhere and he felt small but strong hands pull him forward. He opened his nonexistent eyes and saw that he was closer to the speck of light. It bobbed larger and larger as he went through it.He felt a sharp burning sensation coming from his left ribs. Wait, He felt something on his ribs?Concentrating hard, he found the muscle connected to his arms an

*ADRIENNE'S P.O.V* I WOKE UP to peering eyes. They were not the child witch Morraine's, or Cedric's - who still stood a few feet away. I doubt if he had gotten any sleep, he stayed up, watching me and the girl as we slept. The stares that woke me up were those of the Beta and Gamma.Finn's eyes were wide as he peered in. I stood up and shook my fur. Morraine whimpered and muttered something in her sleep, but she did not wake up.I stepped away from her and walked out, they parted ways to let me through. "Liam, take her up to my old room in the pack house," I mindlinked. "Set a warm bath for her and some clothes, and have breakfast sent to her."He looked dumbfounded, but he nodded and said, "Yes Luna." He entered the cell and gently picked up the girl. The morning sun was starting to rise over the pack. For some reason, there was a lighter mood over it. I saw some children chasing a butterfly. I saw Thorr basking in the morning sun with his mate. They both bowed to me.I entered thro

*ADRIENNE'S P.O.V*3 DAYS passed in a blur. Kincaid was not getting any better, but our alignment was improving. We had received more visitors from alphas that were previously against us. They were still a bit wary about me because of the vision that Arlana had told them, but many of them warmed up after a while. We got alphas from some major packs of the world. They all came after hearing what had happened to Kincaid. Liam and Finn helped assist me in being a hospitable alpha in place of Kincaid.I sat beside Kincaid's bed. A dark stubble had started growing on his chin, giving his lower face a darker shade. I grasped his hand, allowing Thea a little comfort by physically touching him. She had been agitated since all these started.I could feel his wolf too very faintly. The area around his wound was turning flaky now like the skin was going to peel off any moment.Remembering the cause for all these, I stood up angrily from my chair. I got down on all fours and slowly shifted. In t

*ADRIENNE'S P.O.V*I OPENED THE door and walked in. I saw the faces of the men turn and look at me. I saw their eyes widen in surprise at what I was doing here.It was Evian who opened his mouth and spoke first, "Luna, you shouldn't be here."I cocked my head. "Oh, I shouldn't?"He shuffled. "No, Luna. This is a meeting for the leaders...""Well, isn't someone missing?" I questioned, gesturing towards the empty chairs at the head of the room."Yes," Evian said, "But that is the alpha's seat."I smiled wryly and walked up to the seat. I maintained eye contact with each of the men as I sat on it. "I am the alpha now until my mate is well"The room was too stunned to move or speak anything for almost a minute. I swiveled slowly, the gentle creak of the seat brought them back. Finn cleared his throat and said, "Now we have the alpha in our midst " he winked at me.Liam nodded. "We can continue."I crossed my hands on the table and listened to them as they laid out the problems. Kincaid's

*ADRIENNE'S P.O.V*TWO DAYS LATER..."You had better wake up, Kincaid Stuart," I whispered. I could not keep on holding the tears in me, and I felt them drip down my face. "You have a child waiting for you. What will I tell him when he asks for his father?" I laid my head on his chest. "How will I tell him that his father died a few months before it was born?" I cried, his heart beat very slowly and faintly. It has been two days since the stab wound, and to his credit, Kincaid has stayed alive longer than his father who only lasted for a couple of hours. Kincaid's longevity gave the pack some new glimmer of hope. I looked up when I heard the sound of someone coming in. It was Arlana. She had really been helpful in tending to Kincaid over the past few days. She wiped her hand on her expensive-looking suit pants. She looked at me sadly and said, "Come, you shouldn't burden yourself with this sadness." She dragged me up with my arm."Are you any closer to finding how to reverse the curs

*ADRIENNE'S P.O.V*THE CROWD OF healers parted way as I approached. They stepped aside and gave me access to Kincaid. He was lying on the bed, his skin was deathly pale and there was a nasty purple wound on his side. The same place where I had that sharp pain a few hours ago."I'm so sorry, Adrienne," Bonnie whispered, clutching my hand. I turned to look at her, her eyes were red and tear-rimmed as were everyone's here. I could not afford to break down too, so I kept a strong face and nodded."He will heal, wouldn't he?" I asked, knowing the answer fully well. I had seen this wound before. Those months ago when I hid in the corridor and peeked through the doorhole at Alpha Ezra's final moments. His injury had been exactly like this. It was like deja vu. Like the moon goddess was playing us on repeat."He should already be healing," A younger girl cried as she carefully cleaned the wound. I looked around the room. Liam was stonefaced, I could not tell what was going on in his head. Hi
