Are we okay?

“I’ve got you, my love” he whispered into my ear as he draped my around his shoulders.

He helped guide me home to the bathroom. We were both full of dirt and some blood from the times we were hurt. All our injuries had already healed, but we were still worn out. If only our stamina could heal as well. He helped me get undressed and put me in a nice hot bath that he drew up for me. He hopped in behind me. I laid my head back against his chest, closing my eyes and just listening to his heart beat.

He grabbed the soap and helped wash my back gently massaging it as he did. He washed my hair for me as well. I let myself relax into him as he did. I loved moments like these with him. We’ve had so many years together, but I never tire of these moments. I never tire of him, he’s my reason for being. He’s what has helped me not lose my mind after so many years.
