Melissa's POV
I drove round the kingdom, trying to clear my head but even that didn't work.
So I stepped into a bar—Whiskey & Wolves at the outskirts of town. The red neon light flickered across the room. The loud music reverberated through my soul. The smell of smoke and alcohol lingered in the air.
Wrapping a veil over my head to conceal my identity, a sad smile tugged at the corners of my lips. Just the perfect distraction I needed. If there's something else I liked about this bar, it's for their service of selling alcohol that is strong enough to knock out even the strongest of wolves.
“Your strongest drink,” I said to the bartender—a petite lady with blonde hair—at the counter, sliding into the booth in front of her.
She nodded and handed me a glass of alcohol. I downed it, the liquid burns down my throat but definitely not enough to burn down the pain in my chest.
Their words. Their laughter. Their mockery—echoed in my head over and over again.
My phone buzzed again, for almost the hundredth time tonight. I could only wish it doesn't explode.
It glanced at the screen and it was just as expected. A message from Ronan. I didn't bother reading the message; I just hit the delete button and then blocked his number.
Bastard.
Tonight I want to forget about everything. I want forget about the duties and obligations expected of me as a princess. I want to forget about being the perfect Princess of The Eclipse Pack. I just want to waste away.
“Make it stronger, lady,” I commanded, my voice harder than intended.
She looked at me for a long moment—must be wondering who I was to talk to her in such a rash manner. Her nose flared up in disgust, but she finally obeyed—mixing a couple of drinks and then handed me a glass.
I took it from her and threw it down. This one was better than the first glass. I felt the liquid in my veins, and goosebumps appeared on my skin.
I took several glasses and by the sixth glass, I couldn't see clearly anymore.
Then, without warning, my wolf stirred. She wasn’t just restless—she was clawing, howling, desperate to get to something... or someone.
I blinked, heart pounding. What the hell was going on with her?
'Stay calm,' I say to her.
Silence.
“Hey.“ I heard a voice behind me. Unfamiliar but it struck something inside me.
I turned back and I felt my breath seized. A young man stood behind me.
Dark hair, sharp jaw, stormy gray eyes, dangerous smile, velvet voice, effortless charm, mysterious aura—he’s chaos wrapped in beauty.
His eyes pierced into my soul. As if trying to see past my pain, my drunkenness.
Was he talking to me?
Lazily I waved my hand. “Hey.“
And as if I burned him, he averted his gaze from me and turned towards the bartender. “How much is the bill?“ he asked, extending a thousand dollar note.
A mix of disappointment and embarrassment crept up my cheeks. He wasn't talking to me.
Right. I forgot I'm unwanted. I'm unloved. The only thing I will ever be good for, is to be used and discarded.
But not anymore.
I should go home. My legs didn't feel like mine but I managed to push myself . I thought I took a step but instead, I staggered forward and fell straight into him, strong arms wrapping around my waist.
I glanced up at him and up close, he was beautiful. His scent wrapped around me, and forgot everything else. It feels like it was just me and him against the world.
I didn't think; I just acted.
“You're so handsome,” I whispered.
He didn't say anything. His eyes grew dark and he growled.
“Can we make love?“ I asked. “Just this night.“
I know I shouldn't do this. But I just wanted to feel wanted, even if it was just for one night. Even if he’d forget my name by morning.
For a long moment, he stared at me. “Are you sure?“ He finally asked. “We are both drunk. I don't want us to do something we might regret.“
Regret?
Those are for people who think about tomorrow. But as for me? It'd be a miracle if I survive tonight with the pains rippling through me.
“I have never been so sure, my entire life,” I replied with a smile.
And that was it.
He swept me off my feet like I weighed nothing. “Is that your phone?“ He asked, stepping closer to the counter.
“Yes.“ I snatched the phone.
Then he made his way out of the bar. I rested my head on his chest—which was pounding so loudly and surprisingly, soothing the chaos inside me.
Gently, he puts me down and led me towards his sleek BMW.
I thought he'd drive to an hotel or something but he didn't. I don't mind anyway, I was already so horny.
Inside the backseat of his car, he didn't waste time. He pulled me into his lap, lips crashing against me in a kiss that tasted like whiskey and something familiar.
I clung to him, my mind reeling, body burning with need. I didn’t care that I was crying. Or drunk. Or that Ronan has broken me just this morning. All I knew was that I needed this stranger right now.
He slid my dress up my thighs and shifted my damp panties aside.
“Please,” I whispered against his mouth, breathless.
He didn’t wait.
He removed his belt quickly, then his pants and briefs. His thick cock sprang free and he thrusted into me.
“Ohhhhh,” I gasped, my pussy clenching perfectly around his cock.
And just like that, our bodies moved together in a perfect sync. The car filled with the sound of our breathing, the quiet creak of leather beneath us, and my soft moans as I moved with him.
“Ohhhhhh,” he groaned, gripping my hips like he couldn’t get close enough.
I wrapped my arms around his neck, eyes shut, chest pressed to his. Something about the way he held me feels strange. But I blamed it on the whiskey and heartbreak—and let it go.
After a few more thrusts, our breathing turned ragged, eyes rolled at the back of my head and we cum at the same time.
A growl tore from his throat as he pulled out of me.
Without another word, I collapsed against his chest and drifted off to sleep.
________
My eyes flustered open and realised it was already morning. My eyes darted around and I was still on his chest inside the car.
I glanced up at him and he was still sleeping so deeply. Carefully, I slipped off his laps, picked up my phone and tiptoe out of the car.
My lips were swollen. My body still ached in places I didn’t know could feel. But worst of all… my chest was still hollow.
Quickly, I slipped into my own car and drove off the parking lot of the bar.
“Bye, stranger,” I whispered. “It was good while it lasted.“
I pressed harder on the pedal, speeding towards The Eclipse Pack of the North.
________
The tension in the throne room was palpable. Father relaxed in his throne chair, his expression unreadable as I narrated everything to him.
Mother sat beside me, her hands squeezing mine gently; she knows how hurt I'd be even though I was trying so hard to hide it.
When I was done talking, hush silence fell over the room as I awaited father's judgement.
My heart pounded because I know he'd blame me. Talk about how he has made the best decision for me but I threw it all away. If there was something I hated most in the world, it would be disappointing father.
He sat up, staring at me for a moment before finally asking, “So what did you want to do, Lissa?“ His voice was firm.
I swallowed hard. “I want to call off the wedding father. I can't marry Ronan anymore.“
“Yes,” Mother said, her voice thick with barely restrained fury. “That bastard doesn't deserve her.“
Another long, tense silence.
Father finally leaned forward, steepling his fingers. His voice was calm… too calm.
“You'll marry him.“
Melissa's POVI didn't know who to believe anymore. Caius and I had a good time just yesterday, and this morning his father announced his engagement. He was going to be engaged to another girl, but he swore that he would never leave me.I must have been crazy to believe everything he had said.He probably didn't mean them. Just like the saying. Never listen to a man's promises during intercourse.A tear escaped my eyes as I stared back at Caius. But then I could notice that he looked pale. Why did he stand there and act like he didn't know what was going on? He had been probably playing games with me. He shouldn't even pretend like he didn't know what was going on.His father pulled him closer and whispered some words into his ear. I could also see Caius whispering back to his father. They must have planned this all along. What a fool was I ?The Alpha's voice sprung up loudly as he announced the arrival of the young lady.“May we all welcome Princess Lyra Redwyn” the Alpha announced.
Caius's POV Father honestly really got me surprised. How did he plan all of this, and I didn't know?. He is amazing. I must say.I was indeed grateful to father. Furthermore, I didn't know that this would come sooner than I expected. This was a good thing I had gotten from father at least. I wouldn't label him the most brutal and hostile man in America anymore. At this point, I felt bad that I hated him almost all this while, because of the way he treated people with scorn and hatred. It seemed like he wasn't as bad as what I thought he was.I stared at father in the Grand Hall as everyone clapped their hands while he carefully placed the ring on my finger. My heart thumped. I smiled at Father as tears formed in my eyes.Voices from the room erupted as they congratulated me.“All Gail the Grand Prince” they chorused.I stood up as I reached out to father's hands and embraced him tightly with a smile “Thank you, Father. I promise to do well as a Grand Prince” I whispered into his e
Alpha Magnus POV The hall was transformed into a vibrant spectacle for the private banquet, adorned with a stunning, colorful chandelier that cast a kaleidoscope of hues across the room. The atmosphere was electric, with a medley of bright colors that not only captivated the eye but also seemed to dance in harmony with the gentle strains of music. Delicate flowers were strategically placed, their beauty enhancing the ribbons and decorations that adorned the hall, adding elegance. On one side of the hall, a small ensemble of musicians stood poised, their violins singing with a beauty that resonated deeply, akin to a perfectly tuned orchestra. Their music was complemented by the graceful movements of a few ladies who danced with slow, fluid motions, their steps perfectly in tune with the contemporary melodies that filled the air. The combination of music, dance, and decor created a mesmerizing ambiance, one that was both enchanting and captivating, setting the stage for a truly memor
Caius's POV.Something ignited in me the moment my lips touched Melissa's lips. It was a feeling that I had never experienced with any woman.Melissa eyes closed slowly as she gave way for me to kiss her lips. I could feel her hands moved as they tried to touch my face.Just then I stopped for a while. I pulled back as my eyes blinked. My body felt like they were on fire. I felt a hot sensation in my body.I stared back at Melissa and I just couldn't take my hands off her at the moment she was damn beautiful and every part of her body called my attention. She took a step closer, and we got really close just then, she leaped a bit reaching to my height as she planted a kiss on my lips. My body jerked as I couldn't control it. I held her tightly as I closed my eyes, as I continued to kiss her deeply. I could feel her heart thump as she stood close to me My wolf purred. I honestly wanted Melissa again. I really loved this moment. Likewise, I really didn't think I was going to let her
Caius's POV I couldn't help myself around Melissa. It hurts that I had made a promise that I don't know if I would still keep.I don't think, I would ever forgive myself. I was crazy to have made a deal with her. Did I ever think I was just okay with her presence? No. I had realized that I wanted her presence, but I also wanted her care, love and attention. It seemed like I wasn't getting attention from her. She must have been really serious with the deal. I wish I could move the hands of the clock backward and cancel the deal with Melissa.I had probably made a mistake.Just then Melissa's words sprung making me sharp back to reality.“Caius, You should stop this” she said, her voice above a whisper.I moved her softly as I made her turn to face me this time around.“It keeps on beating faster, anytime you are close. I thought I could help it, but I lie” I spilled.“What's wrong Caius?” She asked as she stared at me in concern.“I'm scared that I'm different, would I be able to for
