Chapter 21

When I woke up, the scenes of the previous night flooded into my brain, even though it was not my first time. I was still so shy, but Ryan was not. That bastard had me up all night. I looked beside me, and sure enough, he had already gone to work.

I collapsed on his soft bed tiredly, but I knew I had to leave. I clumsily grabbed my pyjamas and hurriedly put them on. I opened the door and took a peek outside to be sure that none of the maids were lurking in the corner. When I saw that the coast was clear, I quickly ran to my bedroom and shut the door. I put my back on the door as I heavily breathed in and out; it would have been so embarrassing.

I thought of talking to Alex, but I knew that she would laugh at me. I felt so stupid for a moment; how could I listen to Alex?

I sat down on the ground as I started to think about my next step—what would Ryan do to help me out? I was not worried about him going back on his promise; I just knew he wouldn't.
