XVIII. 'Don't I deserve to be happy?'

Amanda held the coals of wood with her bare hands, and she used the rest of her strength to push the logs towards the maid who was about to hurt her. The next second was slow, as the flames devoured the maid's hair. Her screams filled the room before she ran with her friend out of Amanda's room. The girl was still shaking in fear with her hands badly blistered and sweat pouring down her entire body. Again, Amanda was unconscious.

It was already late afternoon when Amanda felt pain all over her body. Her purple eyes opened slightly when she saw someone was treating her.

"Is it sore? You winced when I treated you, even though you were unconscious." Madam Croiz looked worried.

Amanda immediately sat shaking in a defensive position. ‘Is this woman going to try to kill me too?’

"Don't worry, I'm not like them. I'm on your side," said Madam Croiz.

A gentle stroke on Amanda's arm somehow calmed the silver-haired girl. Amanda looked down and saw the palms of her hands until her arms were
missingty
