XVII. The Servant

King Abraham chuckled. "Are you so possessive that you won't let me talk to her?"

"N-no, it's not like that," replied Illarion awkwardly, and immediately excused himself from the King's private room.

‘What will she say to the King? She and her family are great liars, of course she will slander me! Damn. The old mage put the best acting piece, somehow I can think the girl is honest and innocent!’

Illarion had no idea of what Amanda and the King were talking about inside, but the two hours of waiting outside made him even more nervous.

Amanda opened the door of the King's room, the Black Prince's bright eyes immediately greeted the girl. And when the big man was about to go back in, the king's servant said, "The king is resting and does not want to be disturbed by anyone."

But Illarion could faintly hear the King's voice. “I didn't expect you to have that side, Rion,” said the old man with an expression that wasn't visible because of the mosquito net.
