Chapter 3

Author: Arden Vale
I changed into a vintage white bridal gown and pulled the veil down over my head.

We descended nine levels underground before finally reaching the crystal coffin chamber of Our Lord.

The place was lavish beyond belief, like some underground palace.

The moment the veil was lifted, the first thing I noticed was the legendary pearl sitting on the altar.

It was actually gold.

Only, it had been sealed inside an absurdly thick glass case.

Beside it lay several pages of notes listing Our Lord’s preferences.

“Likes cosplay.”

I read the line aloud and burst out laughing.

Next to it stood a wardrobe packed with every kind of lingerie imaginable.

From bunny girls to cat girls, I ended up picking a fox-girl outfit.

There wasn’t any deeper reason behind my choice.

The fox tail was fluffier, and honestly, it looked warmer.

A pair of ivory candles flickered softly nearby.

Following the ritual, I completed the vows before climbing straight into the enormous crystal coffin.

Our Lord lay silently inside.

He looked in his twenties.

Every line of his features looked as though it had been carved from flawless marble, impossibly perfect yet carrying an untouchable coldness and authority.

He really was more handsome than Ethan.

And those legs were ridiculously alluring.

While undressing Our Lord, I followed the “prompt notes” describing his preferences and threw myself fully into the act.

I even deliberately softened my voice into something coy and seductive.

“Come catch me, My Lord~ And if you do, you can play with my tail all you want~”

God. What kind of shameless line was that?

If Vincent hadn’t warned me before sending me in that every one of these tricks had been bought with the lives of dozens of girls before me, all painstakingly recorded to please Our Lord, I never would’ve been able to say them out loud.

To match the line, I even pinched the fluffy fox tail and brushed it lightly across Our Lord’s collarbone.

“Crack.”

One of the ivory candles on the altar suddenly popped.

I jumped in fright and turned to stare at it for a long moment before recovering.

Our Lord was still lying there as silently as before.

I had only just removed his shirt.

Steadying myself, I glanced down at the script again.

Then continued my soft, coquettish performance.

“How could you possibly take my clothes off just by looking, My Lord? You have to use your hands~”

I grabbed his hand and guided it as I slowly pulled the fox-girl outfit down from my shoulders to my chest.

The candle flames instantly flickered wildly, throwing chaotic shadows across the walls.

I froze on the spot.

Something about this felt seriously eerie.

There wasn’t even any wind…

I held my breath and didn’t dare move an inch, completely forgetting that Our Lord’s hand was still resting on my shoulder.

Only after a long while did my heartbeat finally settle.

I hurriedly placed his arm back where it had been.

Then reached down and pulled off his pants as well.

Wow… that was…

I swallowed hard, and the sheet of notes in my hand once again proved useful.

“The more you forbid me from touching, the more I want to. And if you think it’s unfair, you’re welcome to touch me back instead~”

Below it was a small line of text:

You may touch.

It felt like some kind of royal pardon…

Well then, no need for me to hold back.

Before the discarded instruction sheet had even finished fluttering to the floor, my fingertips were already firmly pressed against his sculpted abs.

The firmness beneath my fingertips was nothing like what a body preserved for centuries should have felt like.

It was more like a flawless body frozen forever at the peak of its prime.

As my hand wandered lower, the final line on the note came into view:

“Lucien Holm, if you keep ignoring me, then I’ll…”

And that was it. The sentence ended abruptly.

So, Our Lord’s name was Lucien Holm.

Personally, I hated unfinished sentences.

After a moment of thought, I simply filled in the rest myself.

“If you keep ignoring me, then I’m going to make you burn with desire.”

The moment the words left my mouth, my hand boldly continued downward.

Without warning, the candlelight dimmed.

Under the hazy, intimate glow, my courage slowly grew.

I straddled him and curiously brushed my fingers over the man’s sculpted chest.

Then personally counted all eight abs with teasing little kisses, savoring my way lower and lower…

Suddenly, the entire chamber blazed with light so bright it hurt my eyes.

I jerked my head up in panic.

Only then did I realize that hundreds of ivory candles had somehow appeared throughout the chamber, every single one bursting to life at the exact same moment.

The clusters of flames flickered violently, as if an invisible hand had clenched them tight before abruptly letting go.

Like the rhythm of someone’s heavy breathing.

Then suddenly, I froze.

Beneath the fabric of my skirt, where I was pressing against his member, I felt a sudden twitch.

Every single line of guidance written on those papers the night of the wedding chamber had been something I once said myself. My name was Stocky.Centuries ago, I was the nine-tailed fox raised by the Divine Lord Lucien. After cultivating for years, I became a fox spirit gifted in seduction magic—a harmless little trick that made people fall in love with me.And I loved Lucien so much.Every single day, I tried countless ways to tempt this Divine Lord who had long severed himself from worldly desire. But he never reacted. At most, he would only scold me lightly:“Don’t use your charms on me.”It always left me feeling wronged.Because honestly, I never once used seduction magic on him.I only used it while hunting.I’d make little animals fall in love with me first, then catch and eat them. The day Lucien was summoned back to the heavens, I accidentally consumed a love-inducing herb. What I’d originally meant to say was:“Lucien, if you keep ignoring me, I’m going to burn up from desir

Otherwise, how could he have reached the bottom of the mountain before my car even got there?“Stocky, if you don’t like hotels, then we’ll do it out here in the mountains.”He set me down in an open clearing and immediately reached for my clothes.Right then, a shrill cry suddenly pierced the sky overhead. The earth began to tremble violently, branches snapping apart with terrifying cracks.A streak of golden light flashed past and I saw Lucien. He was still dressed in that immortal-looking white robe, the faint mark I’d left at the side of his neck unmistakably visible. He looked dangerously close to losing control. With a furious sweep of his hand, black mist exploded out of Nathan’s body like a collapsed dam unleashing a flood. My heart tightened instantly. So, Nathan was the true owner of the black mist all along!“Lucien, have you lost your mind?” Nathan shouted, his voice shaking with fury and unmistakable fear. “You actually dared to leave the crypt in your true form?”“Malric

“Girls throwing themselves at him could probably fill an entire city. Who would’ve thought he’d end up chasing someone fat and plain like me instead? Maybe he just likes that our family’s loaded.”“How far have you two gotten?”“We’ve only held hands…” Yuna mumbled sleepily. “My heart condition’s too weak. I can’t even handle kissing…”“What if I tried stealing him from you?”“Then you can have him.” Yuna sounded completely unconcerned. “Though I think he already has someone he can’t forget. As long as you don’t mind. Well… assuming Our Lord doesn’t mind either.”“If he proposed to you, would you marry him?”“He’d never propose to me…”When I tried asking more questions, all I got in response was soft snoring.I forced my eyes open with my fingers, desperately trying not to fall asleep. But exhaustion won in the end.And once again, I dreamed about Lucien. This time, he wore a robe woven from silver fox tails, gazing at me with quiet resentment in his eyes.“Have you gotten tired of

I stared at Lucien lying there motionless. And for the first time, real fear crept into my heart. The abbey kept countless records about the Demon Lord.Every one of them described him as ruthless, wreathed in black mist, cruel beyond reason.I couldn’t stop my imagination from running wild.Back then, my perfectly golden pearl turned black the moment my father prayed before Lucien’s statue in the chapel. His resentment was so powerful it caused fires in the storehouses, collapsing beams, sudden deaths among the family heads, brides ending up dead or crippled, and he’d nearly strangled my stepmother to death in public. The golden pearl vanished from the crypt without anyone unlocking the case. Who else besides him could’ve done that? And not only that—the pearl somehow ended up inside the stomach of the sister who stole my identity…Each event was stranger than the last. Not only did it fit the vicious reputation of the Demon Lord, it all seemed suspiciously directed at me.So, was Luc

He was still lying there.I ran to the table and downed half a bottle of wine in one go.“You don’t have to drink like someone’s about to steal it from you.”A bottle of imported sparkling water was suddenly handed to me.I turned around.Lucien was standing right behind me, smiling.“My Liege~”I threw myself into his arms with exaggerated grievance.“You scared me to death. I thought I’d never see you again.”I rubbed my head against his chin.“How could that happen?” His lips brushed softly against my forehead while his thumb traced lightly across my mouth. “You still haven’t completed the task the patriarch gave you.”“What task?”Pretending not to notice the teasing glint in his eyes, I let my fingers slowly slip beneath the folds of his robe.He caught my hand at once and lifted it to his lips, pressing a gentle kiss against my fingertips.“Behave,” he warned softly. He was not scary at all. With a small tug of my fingers, his flowing white robe slid right off one shoulder.“You

He introduced himself as Nathan Vale, Yuna’s college classmate. They had already been dating for two years.Nathan sat beside the hospital bed while the two of them laughed and chatted. Then he peeled an apple for her.Yuna ate while smiling happily.Meanwhile, I sat on the sofa by the door, staring at the two of them without blinking.Suddenly, Yuna gagged.I clearly saw the pearl inside her stomach shift for the first time since I’d found it there.“What’s wrong?” Nathan immediately patted her back in concern.“I don’t know. Maybe the apple’s too hard. I suddenly feel like throwing up.” Yuna gagged again.I watched as the pearl rolled upward inside her, looking dangerously close to coming back up.My nerves were stretched so tight I nearly crushed the sofa arm beneath my fingers.“Then, do you still want to eat it?” Nathan asked hesitantly.“Yes. My boyfriend peeled this apple for me himself. Even if it’s hard, I’m eating it.” Yuna pouted playfully.“Then I’ll cut it into smaller p
