Artemis/Arya P.O.V.

“I can’t believe we both found our mates at the same time.”

I heard a male voice speak.

“I am surprised of course, but it makes sense since we are pretty much brothers.”

I heard another male voice speak. I could smell an intoxicating scent. It reminded me of books, the smell after it rains, and fresh coffee. I wanted to find the source of the smell. I could feel tingles and sparks in my left hand and wondered what they were from. I laid there trying to fight through the darkness to open my eyes. I smelt him before I heard him, Alpha Nate. I wanted to scream and cry and run away, but I couldn’t move. I was paralyzed. I heard a frantic beeping then an alarm going off. A few other panicked voices could be heard before I heard someone telling Alpha Nate to please leave the room. My eyes flew open the moment he was kicked out followed by the other male voice I heard. I tried to sit up but let out a yelp of pain and laid back down. I felt the sparks again as I looked down at the hand that grabbed mine.

“Shh…it’s ok…you’re safe..”

I heard the sweetest voice ever say to me. I looked at the source of the voice and was met with the most beautiful sky blue eyes staring into my different colored ones. It felt like the rest of the world melted away as I stared into those eyes.

“Hi..I am Alpha Armand, but you can just call me Armand.”

The owner of the voice and eyes said. I felt my heart rate begin to go down as my eyes trailed over his perfect face. His hair was a golden honey colored and ended just below his ears. His eyes were the perfect almond shape. His skin was a creamy tan color that looked like he was kissed by the sun. He plump pink lips parted as he spoke and he wore a smile.

“May I ask your name?”

I finally heard him ask. My gaze shot back up to his eyes.

~”This is mate..mmm…he smells amazing…oooh he’s so sexy!!”~

Arya purred in our mind. I inwardly shook my head.

“Artemis.”

I said hoarsely. He offered me a glass of water and I sipped it carefully.

“Do you know where you are Artemis?”

He asked. I loved hearing him say my name. I shook my head no to reply to his question.

“You are in the Blue Blades Pack at the hospital.”

He said and I stared at him.

“You are my mate?”

I asked softly wearing a confused look and repeating the word Arya had said. He smiled wide

“Yes, I am, my name is Armand.”

He said and I tilted my head sideways

“What’s a mate?”

I asked curiously. He blinked and looked taken back

“A mate is the other half of you, someone to love you forever, your soul mate.”

He said as he took my hand in his again. I frowned and then looked away

“Oh…”

I said unsure what to say. I heard Alpha Nate talking with Beta Craig just outside the door.

“I need to leave..”

I said trying to stand up.

“I am sorry Artemis. You can’t, not yet.”

He said softly. I looked at him then at the door in terror as it opened. In walked a man wearing a white piece of clothes. He was tall with black hair, tan skin the color of caramel, and piercing grey eyes.

“Hello Dear, I am Doc.”

The man introduced himself.

“H…Hi…Artemis..”

I said softly as I relaxed a little. Doc looked at me with a smile

“I have a few questions that I hope you can answer before I can allow you to leave.”

He said as he took the empty chair next to my bed and sat down. I bit my lower lip letting my eyes switch from him to Alpha Armand then back to Doc.

“Um..”

I said softly before looking down at my lap.

“It’s ok, you don’t have to hide anything from me”

Alpha Armand said softly. I shook my head no still sensing Alpha Nate and Beta Craig still in the hall.

“N..no..”

I said as I looked back up. Alpha Armand frowned and looked at me

“Do you want me to leave?”

He asked as my eyes met his. I bit my lower lip again and looked away from him

“I have nothing to say…”

I said as I stared at the closed door across the room.

~”Art…you can talk to them..they can help us..we never have to go back..”~

Arya said softly. I stiffened as I heard movement near the door and held in a breath. There was a knock on the door as I held my breath.

“Come In..”

Alpha Armand said. I began to sweat in panic as the door slowly opened. A male figure came in that I didn’t recognize. With the door open my eyes went wide when they locked on Alpha Nate’s harsh glare from the hall.

“Sorry Alpha, I came to let you know that our visitors would like to see the Luna when she is ready.”

The man that entered the room said.

“Luna..you need to breathe..”

I heard Doc say as he moved closer, but the words sounded far away. Alpha Armand looked at me and took my hand

“Love…you will pass out if you don’t breathe.”

He said softly trying to catch my attention. My eyes were locked in wide eyed horror as Alpha Nate continued to glare at me from the hall through the open door. I watched petrified as he took a small step forward and before I could register what was happening a scream left my lips. I shrank back against the bed trying to get away from everyone and put my hands in front of my face. Alpha Armand, Doc, and the other male in the room looked at me with concern.

“What’s happening Doc?”

I heard Alpha Armand ask Doc.

“Looks like a panic attack..”

Doc said as he turned to grab a bottle and a needle. The other male that had entered the room stared at me with a frown.

“I’m sorry Luna. I am going to have to sedate you so you don’t injure yourself further.”

I heard Doc say as he put the needle into the bottle and drew up some of the clear liquid from inside. I began to panic even more and scooted closer to Alpha Armand.

“P….P.…Please…no!”

I said as tears began to make their way down my cheeks. I jumped when I felt sparks and Alpha Armand’s hands on either side of my face. He wiped my tears away as my eyes met his and I took a deep breath.

“He…He’ll hurt me again…please…”

I said softly between breaths and sobs. Alpha Armand pulled me closer and ran his hands down my back in soothing motions

“Shh…it’s going to be alright my love, I won’t let anyone hurt you again.”

He said softly as he rested his chin on the top of my head. I sobbed harder and threw my arms around him. I felt a light prick in my right arm between my shoulder and elbow. I let out a small whimper as I began to slip into darkness again. I heard Alpha Armand speak softly in my ear just before I was fully consumed by the darkness.

“I’m sorry my love. You need to rest. I promise you are safe.”

Was the last thing I heard before there was nothing.
