This is not how I wanted this party to go. This was supposed to be a celebration of new beginnings for this pack and show the other packs that we are not the same pack we were under Williams's rule. But all that is ruined now because of that Lucas and Elena. “Remind me again Trojan, why is that woman still here?” I asked my wolf in a sarcastic manner.

“She is here because she is our mate, and we want her here.” Right! It’s not like I expected an answer but there it is. I was going to let her go back to her pack after the party but after what her alpha said I kept her. She is my mate after all and is supposed to be by my side. Whatever that means.

With her, by my side on that stage, everything felt right, like it was meant to be that way. I also, noticed that the alphas did not bring their mates to the celebrations, and that tells me that they expected to have a different outcome. Maybe they thought it was all a trap. I would have thought something if I were in their shoes.
