That night I slept with Brooke in her room, my bed had long ago been placed in storage. It figured that the first night that I had somebody to stay up with me that I would pass out on her. Waking up before her I decided to make us breakfast. It felt like old times being in the kitchen, it actually felt like the first week we moved in. We had barely had any furniture or dishes, or hell anything.
Making our plates I grabbed them and walked back to Brooke's room. "Rise and shine sleepy head. I made us both French toast." Brooke groaned rolling over and pulling the cover over her head." I shook my head at her,
My stomach was in knots as we waited for our table. Erin's nonstop chatter was giving me a headache. I had no clue what she was even talking about, I would just nod at her every few minutes. Brooke was unusually quiet and I knew she wanted to talk but there were just way too many people around. When our buzzer started going crazy I stood up, "thank God."Erin glanced over at me, "it's only been 30 minutes."I looked over at Brooke and she shook her head at me as we were led to a huge table in the back. Our waitress went ahead and took our drink and salad order leaving us with menus. Even though I already knew what I wanted I had to study the menu just in case there was something better.Soon I had my sweet tea and salad in front of me, our food had been ordered, and our parents were talking to us about being careful in New York.I shook my head, my mother was still being totally negative while Brooke's parents were very supportive
We walked for a minute before Brooke initiated the conversation, "well you didn't kill him."I made a face at her, "yet. I mean you should have heard his apology if that is even what that was. I guess I'm supposed to forgive him becausethat's how he is used to living his life. Fucking idiot."
I awoke to Seth moving in his sleep, looking around I saw that it was still dark outside. As I went to sit up Seth's arm held me tighter and he mumbled something under his breath. I had no idea what he said besides my name. Hell, I can't even lie. I was glad it was my name he mumbled instead of someone else's.Finally managing to wiggle out of his grasp I stood up seeing Brooke's wallet was on the counter, walking over to it I opened it up and dug our room key out. Walking out the door I made my way to our room feeling almost as if I was sneaking away. The truth was I just needed away from Seth, I needed space, I needed air.Throwing the room key down on the coffee table as I walked in I went to my room and collapsed down on the bed. My body was sore from sleeping the way I had and the bed felt like a cloud. Closing my eyes I felt my body drifting back to sleep but before I was fully asleep I heard a click of the door but didn't think anything about it until I felt my be
Monday morning I sat in front of my computer contemplating throwing my keyboard across the room. For some reason, nothing seemed to be going how I wanted it. Sitting back I wished Brooke was here but she had gone ahead and went into her new job. She would be allowed to work from home some days as well but she had mandatory days she had to appear in the office.Getting up I walked down the hall back to my room and grabbed my phone. I had purposely left it in my bedroom so I could get my work done with no distractions. I wanted to be free this weekend and with me doing my work and covering for another coworker I stayed busy. I had unblocked Seth from all of my social media and had followed him back so I wasn't too surprised he had tweeted this morning. He was at a skate park skating with underprivileged youth. I smiled pulling up his picture, he was a total goofball. I didn't know if I should still be mad at him or not. Brooke had suddenly become mute about her opinions
Standing in front of the bathroom mirror I ran my straightener through my hair one more time. I had yet to decide what to wear to the game and Brooke had yet to appear back at the house. Glancing up at my reflection I double-checked my makeup. I didn't want to appear to be too made up but at the same time, I didn't want to appear plain.Walking back into the bedroom I rolled my eyes at Seth laying on the bed watching tv. He wasn't worried about anything. He true to his nature was wearing a pair of red long shorts with a black shirt. I never knew that Seth wore glasses so when he put them on today I had tot
By the time we made it back to the house I was tired, all I really wanted to do was lay down. Brooke was still missing in action and I knew I should probably send her a text to check on her but I didn't bother. Hell, if she needed me she knew my number. She was more than capable of taking care of herself. It was me that seemed to always need help. Seth followed me to my room watching me take my jewelry off before I slung my jacket over my dresser and plopped crossways on the bed."I know you aren't going to sleep on me."I nodded my head pulling a pillow over to me, "I'm so tired. I know it's not that late but I feel like I've just pulled an all-nighter." Closing my eyes I heard Seth digging through his bag and I already knew what he was after. Turning my head away from the door I felt the bed sink as he sat down."You better not get weed in my bed," I mumbled to him.He nudged my legs with his feet, "get your lazy ass up. You know I have to l
It didn't take long for me to pack my bags. I had no clue what to bring so I just threw stuff in hoping that it would do. Seth helped me pack so my bag looked better than it would have if I had done it alone. He actually believed in folding things while I would have just shoved it all in and worried about the wrinkles it would make later. When Seth got the call that his ride was outside I hugged Brooke bye one last time. I hated leaving her in a funky mood but she had promised that she would be o
After we ate Seth disappeared into his office. I went upstairs and grabbed my laptop sitting in the bed pulling up my weekly email. I was glad that my weekly work assignments were sent on Sunday, it would give me a chance to go ahead and start on my own work while Seth was busy doing God knew what downstairs.I groaned as I read we were having a flash sale this weekend. That meant I would have to temporarily close the site only to bring it back up for the allotted time, then turn back around and temporarily close it again. I would have to make sure when exactly I was flying home, if it was Friday I was going to be timing things perfectly. The workload I had kept me plenty busy, when I looked up I saw it was close to 7 o'clock. I had been working a good 4 hours non stop. Saving my work and submitting what I could for approval I clicked out of my program. Standing up I ran to the restroom, figures the moment I sat down my phone started ringing. Whoever it was would just
