CHAPTER 41

ZYLIAH’S POV

"You can hate me to your heart's content, but you have to tell me why you changed your name from Smith to Davis." His angry tone followed me as I tried to escape his suffocating presence.

"I do not owe you anything." I hated how shaky my voice had gotten.

Burying the past had been too hard. Almost successful. Trying to forget what I'd gone through as payback for my years of sacrifice, love, and hard work for the family that had not just backstabbed me but also allowed the public to ridicule me was the toughest pill I'd had to swallow.

Maybe I should have never returned. But Delia was the reason I'd returned. Her accident had brought me back. She had stood by me till the end, even with the distance. And I thought to extend the same hand to her.

Right now, I was beginning to think my reason for returning wasn't worth this. All of this!

A hand grabbed me. My hand and arm flailed and extended to his face and landed one.

A deep, furious grunt rumbled from him. He

  • Broken Vows: A Billionaire's Secret   At Trex Corporation

CHAPTER 79 ZYLIAH’S POV I stepped out of the car and stood in front of the company. It was all still familiar—the high, state-of-the-art glass building. Trex Corporation was written bold and majestic across the front. "Any problem, my love?" I threw a look over my shoulder. “You’re still here?” I hadn’t even realized he was waiting. "If I'd gone, you’d have heard the roar of my engine zooming off,” he said. "That's true. Won’t you be late for work?” I asked, avoiding talk of me standing outside, too nervous to actually go in. "Not until you go in,” he said, drumming his fingers on the wheel while waiting. Fynn was being extra sweet. Not that he hadn’t been before, but ever since we started living together, he pampered the hell out of me—paying more attention and complimenting me like I was some beauty goddess he couldn’t stop staring at. “Okay,” I said with a small laugh breaking through. He blew me a kiss as I started towards the building, going in. I chuckled and blew one

  • Broken Vows: A Billionaire's Secret   Resuming Her Old Life

CHAPTER 78 ZYLIAH’S POV For some reason, I was nervous. Why? I couldn’t tell, but standing in the house I’d grown up in all my life after my accident felt like stepping straight into a lion’s den. But I couldn’t ignore coming here. It didn’t matter how I felt. A lot of things hadn’t felt right since my accident, so this shouldn’t even be a surprise to me. Fynn squeezed my hand, firm yet soothing. “Are you nervous?” I nodded. "Yeah. I think I am, and I don’t even know why.” "It's okay; he'll be down soon to see you,” he said gently, rubbing my back with affectionate strokes. The maids had recognized me and even greeted me, and I greeted them back. Strangely enough, I actually recollected their faces. Another nod from me. Maybe it was because of what my best friends had told me about him—how my relationship with him had supposedly ended. I didn’t remember any of that, and it didn’t matter to me now. I just wanted to see him. I heard his footsteps coming down the stairs, and I q

CHAPTER 77 VICTORIA’S POV "Other than the fact that you're leaving my daughter because she, for the time being, can't bear children?" I asked, repulsed by his behavior and a bit on the nervy side that he might know something. "Enough reason to. I have expectations to meet, and I do not expect you to understand that, since you are used to gold-digging your way into the wealth of others and lavishing it without realizing there are other needs to be met,” he retorted. I narrowed my gaze. "Who's she?" "Who's who?" He quirked a brow, matching my challenging stare. "The girl you're leaving my daughter for." "I think you and your daughter should be more concerned with how to survive. And she should be looking for a solution for that womb.” "What do you mean by that?" I watched my daughter trying to plead with him, still on her knees, and it annoyed me deeply. "You thought you could hide it forever from me and my dad? Be grateful I’m not suing your asses right now for deception and f

CHAPTER 76SABRINA’S POV"What are you worrying your head about for?” my mom asked as she came down the stairs into the living room, stifling a sleepy yawn."Mom, it's been three days. Three days and my husband isn't home," I complained, a sad, dejected feeling washing over me in full, drowning waves. "So? Is that why you’re pacing about the living room? I bet you didn’t even get a good night’s sleep,” she said, checking the imported gold-themed clock hanging on the wall. “It’s past six a.m.”"He's not picking up my calls, not bothering to call back. He’s not home. That’s unlike him,” I continued, my bitter complaints pouring out.Mom sat down, resting her sleepy head on a throw pillow she picked up from the sofa she was on, and lay on the arm of the sofa. "I still don't get why you're so worked up.""Mom. This is my husband we’re talking about,” I said, trying to keep anger out of my tone, but she was really stretching it thin.I was in a mood as it stood already—a violently bad one

CHAPTER 75ZYLIAH'S POV"Is this your new house?” I asked as he led me into a beautiful apartment with brand-new furniture.Everything gleamed and shone, the whole place looking unoccupied."Yes. I decided to get a new place for you and me. New beginnings,” he said, turning to face me and drawing me close to him until I was breathing in his scent."Oh." My lips curved in a small smile. "What happened to your last place? This isn’t where I remember you staying.""Uh… I got tired of it and bought this,” he said. His phone rang, and he pulled it out, checking the caller ID before swiping the red button—too quickly for me to catch the name."You'll need clothes. We should get you as many as you want," he proposed, caressing my jaw, affection shining in his eyes."That's a welcome idea," I agreed, letting him pull me closer. "Umm... I have a request to make.""Whatever it is you want, baby." He guided me gently until I sat on a brand-new moss green sofa. "I'd like to go see my dad," I sai

CHAPTER 74ZYLIAH’S POV"Where are we driving to?" I asked once we were already on the road, far away from the Williams’ estate.I tried to forget the look on his face when I’d chosen Fynn. In my defense, he was beating up my boyfriend—what did he expect? That I support him, a stranger?Nope, that wasn’t going to happen. And I could also understand what Delia and Natalie must have thought of me by this time. But they would never truly understand."We'll drop by my dad's place first," he replied, smiling sweetly through his bruised face. Sayge had really roughened him up. I managed a small smile in return. “Okay.”Twenty minutes later, we drove into his father’s compound. It was just as I remembered it from a while ago."Hello, son. Zyliah.” He brightened immediately, looking even more excited to see me.We had just stepped into the living room when he opened his arms for a hug. I obliged, ignoring the slight throbbing at my temples."Let's go into my office,” he said, motioning for u
