I had watched the whole thing from a distance.

Dominic and Adrian, squared off in that corridor, both of them too focused on each other to notice much else around them.

The tension between them had been visible from twenty feet away, the kind that did not need raised voices to be understood. Two men who had decided they were on opposite sides of the same woman, and neither of them willing to move.
