Isla

The taste of me was still in my mouth.

The moment I blinked awake, the memory slammed straight into me, Zayne shoving those same fingers into my mouth, watching with those seductive, hungry eyes as I sucked them. My entire body clenched, heat tearing straight through my stomach at the thought of it.

God. I shouldn’t be thinking about it.

I dragged in a shaky breath and looked around his dim room, the curtains still drawn, the air smelled faintly with the scent of sweat, sex, and Zayne.

His arm was thrown lazily over the pillow where my body had been. His hair was a dark mess on the sheets.

His chest rose and fell slowly, like nothing in his world could ever bother him.

And that was my signal to leave.

I slipped out of bed carefully, gathering my nightwear and sweater, trying not to disturb him. Every step was a reminder of everything he did to me last night, the marks on my neck, the ache between my thighs, the soreness in places I didn’t even know could be sore.

I opened the doo

  • Brotherzoned   What we carry

Isla’s POVThe door clicked shut behind Zayne, and the silence he left behind felt louder than the argument itself. For a moment, Sienna just stood there—still in her wedding gown, fists trembling at her sides, chest rising and falling like she’d sprinted a mile. Her eyes were glossy with something she’d never admit to feeling.I swallowed, stepping closer.“Sienna,” I said softly.“No,” she breathed, shaking her head hard. “Don’t. Don’t tell me I was wrong. Don’t tell me I shouldn’t have said anything. Don’t turn on me too.”Her voice cracked on the last word. God.They were both hurting, but she… she looked breakable.I reached out and gently touched her arm. “I’m not turning on you. I’m here. I’ve always been here.”Her breathing slowed for a second, but her shoulders stayed stiff.“But you need to calm down,” I continued. “At least long enough to see what’s actually going on.”Sienna blinked at me, tears hovering but refusing to fall.“Zayne isn’t okay,” I said. That made her flin

  • Brotherzoned   Fracture lines

Isla’s POVSienna’s face didn’t match the soft romantic glow of a newly married bride. It was thunderous.Sharp, vibrating, ready to split the walls of the hall open. She stood stiffly for exactly three seconds after the photographer dismissed us. Then she leaned to Vincenzo, whispered something I didn’t catch, and turned sharply toward me.Her eyes locked on mine. A signal: Come. Before I could process anything, her fingers wrapped around my wrist with familiar urgency, and she pulled—hard. With her other hand, she grabbed Zayne by the sleeve.“Move,” she hissed at him.Zayne blinked, clearly annoyed but following anyway. Rico cast me a worried look, but I mouthed, I’m fine. Even though I wasn’t sure I was.The three of us slipped out of the hall, past the murmuring guests and the humming lights, down a quieter corridor with polished marble floors and framed portraits. The moment Sienna found an empty side room, she pushed the door open and stormed in.“Inside,” she snapped.Zayne wa

  • Brotherzoned   Figures

Isla’s POVEvery instinct in my body screamed to look again, to wait, to see. But the fear—The fear that something might’ve already happened to Sienna burned through me stronger than curiosity ever could. I couldn’t waste another second staring into the dark when someone’s life might still be at risk.I spun around and bolted inside. The hallway swallowed me again, warm light replacing the cold air outside. My breath came in ragged bursts as I pushed through the double doors and reentered the main hall. And instantly, my heart slowed. Just slightly. Everything was still intact. The decorations untouched. Guests laughing, dancing, and drinking.Music still humming faintly under the chaos buzzing in my chest. Nothing was destroyed. Nothing was disrupted. And—thank God—no screaming. But Zayne—Still nowhere. My eyes scanned the hall desperately while my brain spun. My pulse throbbed against my ribs. Every face I saw wasn’t the one I needed. Every second felt like another chance lost.A

  • Brotherzoned   Hitman

Isla’s POVRico’s voice cut through the buzzing panic in my ears. “What’s wrong?”God, where do I even start? My pulse was hammering beneath my skin, every breath shaky, uneven. I didn’t know if I could tell him—if I should tell him. Rico jokes, flirts, makes fun of literally everything. He didn’t feel like the person you hand danger to.But Sienna’s life was at risk. And Zayne… God, Zayne didn’t even know what was happening.I swallowed hard and leaned closer to Rico, my voice barely steady. “Something’s wrong. Something’s really wrong, Rico. Someone is trying to—” My throat tightened. “Someone is trying to kill Sienna.”His entire expression changed. The unseriousness disappeared, replaced by sharp focus. “What?”I nodded quickly, words tumbling out. “Follow my eye movement.I subtly shifted my weight, positioning myself so Rico's view of the altar was clear. With a barely perceptible movement of my hand, I gestured towards Sienna, who stood there, a vision in white. My eyes widened

  • Brotherzoned   Long time no see, Silas

Isla’s POVI forced my face into a smile so quickly it almost hurt.“Isabella,” I breathed, tone sugar-smooth, “long time.”“Likewise.” She tilted her chin delicately, nothing but elegance and quiet cruelty. Then she turned, fingers brushing Silas’s arm as if presenting him. “Silas, come on. Won’t you greet Isla?”Silas straightened, expression unreadable but polite enough to fool anyone who didn’t know better.“Long time,” he said gently. “It’s nice seeing you here.”Nice seeing you here? Fucking pretender.God, he was pretending so well I almost questioned myself. And Isabella—did she know? Did she sense something? Was this her test?My heart beat hard but steady. I lifted my chin, mirroring their performance.“You too,” I replied, hoping my voice didn’t tremble.Silas studied my face just a second too long. As if searching. As if waiting. But his smile stayed in place, polite and harmless—public-friendly, client-friendly, wedding-friendly.“Did you come with your family?” Isabella

  • Brotherzoned   Too close to breathe

Isla’s POVZayne stood back at me for a moment too long. Long enough for me to wonder if he was debating whether to turn. Long enough for my chest to ache quietly with the weight of everything we weren’t saying. Then he turned. Black on black: black shirt, black suit, and black shoes. And I walked straight into the familiar storm of his cologne—clean, sharp, and intoxicating. The scent wrapped around me before I could shield myself. It was unfair how easily it still did that.“Hey,” I said softly. “You don’t look so good.”His face barely shifted. “I’m fine.”The words were flat. Practiced. A lie wearing good posture.“Sienna is asking after you,” he continued. “Come with me so she can see you before she makes her entrance.”“Okay,” I said.I followed him. The walk through the corridor felt strange—quiet but heavy. Not awkward. Not hostile. Just filled with everything unsaid, hanging thick between our steps.Halfway through, I turned back. Rico was behind us.He caught my glance inst
