Amber’s POV

The house was extremely quiet. Mom and Dad were probably asleep by now. Daniel and Bella had gone out on a date. I tiptoed to the front door and slid outside, clutching my phone like it could somehow defend me.

I waved down a cab and gave the driver the Address Alpha Mason had sent me. My stomach somersaulted as the driver squinted at the phone and opened the back seat of the car for me. What in the Moon Goddess’s name did he want now?

The drive was silent, but not peaceful. My mind was messy, and Raven was talking nonstop. I gazed out the window at the identical houses.

“Girl, I can’t believe you are really going to meet him, after everything he has done to you,” she complained. “I have a feeling that asshole is up to no good, he didn’t look so happy when Xavier humiliated him at the cafeteria earlier today. He might be trying to get revenge.”

“I know, I shouldn’t go to him,” I replied with a sigh. “But what do I do, Raven? He is an Alpha, I can’t say no to him.”
