Bumping the Wrong Passenger
Bumping the Wrong Passenger
Darling Snow

Chapter 1

Darling Snow
Step by step, I dragged my suitcase toward the ticket counter.

"I want a refund," I said as I slapped my ID on the counter, my voice thick with annoyance.

The staff at the counter glanced at the screen, then looked me up and down before rolling her eyes.

"Sorry, but this counts as a no-show due to personal reasons. We can only refund the fuel surcharge and infrastructure fees, which come to 120 dollars. We can't refund the full fare."

An angry scoff escaped me. "Personal reasons? Your airline overbooked the flight and forcibly removed paying passengers. You call that 'personal reasons'?"

The staff's fingers hammered on the keyboard loudly, impatience written all over her face.

"Who told you to make such a huge scene in the cabin and disrupt everyone? You should be grateful that you even got the refund of 120 dollars. Don't push it!"

Just then, the sound of leather shoes echoed closer. The airline manager from earlier—Barney Vadusky—strode over arrogantly, holding up his phone and filming me.

"Look at this cheapskate person trying to extort money from the airline. He's that desperate! Don't you just want more compensation? Stop pretending to be all high and mighty!" he said, sneering while crossing his arms.

"What? 120 dollars isn't enough for you? I'll post this online and let everyone see what a pathetic loser you are. Maybe some kind-hearted person will crowdfund some money for you!"

I stared at his extremely arrogant expression, trying hard to force down my rage.

"You'll regret what you did today."

Barney laughed as if he'd just heard the funniest joke, tears brimming in his eyes.

"Regret? You think someone like you—a poor loser who can't even afford first class and has to squeeze into economy—can make me regret anything?

"Ms. Castille booked the entire first-class cabin, and even her bodyguards are sitting in business class! Who do you think you are?"

He suddenly spun around and shouted toward the passengers walking through the terminal.

"Everyone, take a look at this person here! Not only did he refuse to cooperate with the airline on an overbooked flight, but he even tried to extort our airline!

"And now, he's causing a huge scene at the counter and seriously impacting everyone's travels. He's truly a menace to society!"

The passengers nearby were instantly drawn in, pointing and whispering.

"He's dressed like a decent person. Who knew he'd have no class?"

"Exactly. The airline's already compensated him, but he's still making a fuss. He's just crazy for money."

"Get lost already. Stop embarrassing yourself here!"

"Ms. Castille, what's happening to you?" Louis gasped in shock. His hand trembled so violently that the expensive white porcelain bowl slipped from his grasp and shattered on the floor.Kellie's body convulsed and thrashed violently on the bed as thick black blood gushed out of her mouth in spurts. The heart monitor let out a piercing, shrill alarm. Her heart rate dropped abruptly to zero. She stared blankly at the ceiling—then her breathing completely stopped."Kellie!" Nell shrieked, her eyes widening in shock and fury. Her granddaughter, the one she'd always been most proud of, had just died horrendously right before her eyes.Overwhelmed by fury and grief, she suddenly spat out a large mouthful of blood and collapsed backward."Mrs. Castille Senior! Quick, call an ambulance!"The entire Castille household erupted into chaos. Louis stared at Kellie's especially horrific-looking body, and cold sweat poured down his forehead.Only then did it finally hit him. He'd been playe

At the same time, I logged into my personal social media account, wrote a new post, and published it.It was instantly pushed across the entire internet. Not ten minutes later, the trending searches completely crashed. The tide of the comment section reversed instantly, and the whole internet was outraged."Plot twist? That airline manager is basically a murderer! He crushed someone's life-saving medicine and then tried to frame the victim!""The Castilles are disgusting. The doctor they hired turned the patient into a vegetable, and now they're trying to blame the traditional medicine doctor?""And that hospital director, Michael! He spouted crap and gave false testimony! He doesn't deserve to be a doctor at all!""The airline fabricated evidence to protect its employee! Boycott the trash airline!"In just half an hour, the airline's stock hit the limit down, wiping out tens of billions of dollars in value. The airline's executives were scared out of their wits and hurriedly is

I looked coldly at the pair, stood, and walked straight toward the operating room. If I delayed any longer, Kellie truly would die.I hurried into the OR.Kellie lay on the operating table, her chest fully opened, blood already flooding the pericardium. On the monitor, her heart rate had flattened into a straight line.I strode forward, glanced at the medication record beside me, and felt a surge of fury shoot straight to my head. That idiot! He'd used an extremely high dose of thrombin to forcibly stop the bleeding.Kellie's heart was already failing, so the only thing the drug did was directly cause widespread microvascular thrombosis throughout her body, leaving her facing multiple organ failure. The situation was ten times worse than I'd expected. Those idiots had forcibly "treated" a living person into a dead one!"Move!" I snapped, shoving Professor Smith aside, and grabbed the cloth pouch from the nurse's tray.Under the surgical lights, the silver needles gleamed with

Professor Smith brushed off his wrinkled clothes and let out a cold scoff."Mrs. Castille Senior," he started. "I don't understand why you would rather trust a fraud than believe in modern medicine."He held his chin high, his face full of open contempt as he looked at me."Leave Ms. Castille to me. We have the most advanced equipment and specialized drugs. I guarantee that she'll walk out of the OR safe and sound."Nell slowly rose to her feet. Her cloudy eyes moved back and forth between Professor Smith and me.The custom-made medication had been crushed. So, rather than placing hope in a traditional doctor who didn't even have any medicine left, she thought that it was better to trust an internationally renowned authority. It took only a second for her to weigh her interests. Her expression changed instantly."Professor Smith, my granddaughter's life is in your hands! Arrange the surgery immediately!" she announced. Then, she turned to Louis, her voice turning ice cold. "Lo

"Ask him," I said, pointing at Barney. "Yesterday, at the airport, he broke my suitcase and crushed the special pills I'd specifically made for Kellie. Without that medication to protect her heart, forget surgery—she won't even survive the anesthesia."Barney's smile froze. "Stop lying! You were the one who deliberately spilled your stuff, and now you want to blame me?""Mr. Pomeroy, don't listen to this lunatic. He's nothing but a fraud!"Watching him panic, I almost found it amusing."The surveillance cameras in the departure hall captured everything clearly. Would you like to check it yourself?"Louis stared intently at me, as if trying to judge whether I was telling the truth. After a moment, he let out a cold snort."Enough with the excuses. The Castilles can get as many rare medicinal herbs as they want. We can just have someone make another batch of the medication!"Now, come with me immediately!"With a wave of his hand, the black-clad bodyguards grabbed me and forcibly
