Chapter 40

The cameras were flashing on Clara’s face as she was being taken into the station.

“Miss Clara, did you do this?”

“Why did you do that?”

“It's been rumored you have been trying to get CEO Alex’s attention. Is that true?”

“You both have been together a couple of times. What's your relationship with him?”

Clara wished the ground would swallow her. She never replied to any of those reporters questioning her.

Her mind was occupied with her mum. She saw Alex’s reaction before leaving and kinda prayed he would help her mother.

Mr. Peters was in his seat smiling at how perfectly everything played out.

Oh poor Clara, look how easy you made this. He took a sip of his wine and continued being busy on his phone.

Alex stayed till Mrs. Roberts regained her consciousness. She told the nurses to take care of her while he went to the station to see his wife.

Mr. Peters had ordered that no one see Clara or bail her, but when Alex showed up, they couldn’t deny him access since he was Mr. Peter’s son.
