Thirty-three

Ten days passed since Emma was forced to ruin her friendship with Mila, ten days passed since Emma felt like she had somebody she could turn to, ten days passed since Mila felt lost and confused.

The first day was the day Emma snapped at Mila. She stayed in the hospital bed, crying silently. When Cole entered the room, she did not acknowledge him, she was too lost in her thoughts to give a damn about his presence in the room. He took the recorder from under the bed and started to listen to everything loudly, just to torture Emma. He made her listen to her harsh words and Emma could swear that she heard Mila's heart getting broken just by the way she talked. Cole looked at Emma and said, "Good job." Emma grimaced and called him a monster, but he had another opinion. "We are all monsters, sweetheart. We all have our own demons, I just made you recognise yours."
