There was a round table with white tablecloth on top of it and a small crystal vase that had daffodils. And it was surrounded with a makeshift canopy of lace curtains, providing a little privacy from the men that were spread across the terrace looking straight ahead like statues.

Any other time with any other man it would’ve been like a nice romantic date out of a perfect romance book with happily ever after on the horizon. But by my side was a man who couldn’t ever be a hero and it wasn’t a date but then the question was what it was. Since Ephraim had helped me into the chopper and we left the castle, I had been wondering why out of the blue Antonio decided that I could go out and leave the cage behind. It didn’t sit well with all his promises of keeping me caged and a captive for his nefarious reasons.
