Ivory’s POV

My head pounded, and my whole body ached as if I had run a marathon and then been hit by a truck. Getting up from bed felt impossible. I was just so weak.

Glancing beside me, Tristan wasn't in the room. Clara still hadn't returned back to the house yet. A wave of loneliness washed over me and my eyes started to sting with tears. Who could I even call?

After a moment, my phone buzzed loudly right next to me. I hoped it was Tristan. I reached for it, slowly.

My heart sank a bit when I saw it was Stella.

I weakly picked it up. Her loud, energetic voice boomed through the phone. "Babes!" she chirped, sounding super happy.

"S-S-Stella," I croaked. My voice was barely there.

She immediately noticed my tone. "Is everything okay? Are you fine?" she asked, her voice softening now.

"No. Please, can you come?" I managed, my voice completely drained.

"Yes. I will be there now," she said. The call ended. A huge wave of relief washed over me. Someone was coming.

Hours dragged on, and I

Tristan's POVMy grip clenched tight on the steering wheel as frustration coursed through me. I had apologized to Ivory, genuinely apologized, but she still wouldn't budge. My anger simmered. When I told Elijah everything, he just laughed. "Let her be," he said. "She needs time. She'll come around."She'd better come around. If she ever thought for a second I'd let her leave, she was wrong. That was a lie. I didn't care what it cost, even if I had to act more aggressively to keep her, as long as she stayed. The thought of going home, knowing she wouldn't even look at me, made my jaw clench. I had no idea what to do to fix this.I wrestled the car into the garage. The tires screeched. I killed the engine, opened the door, and stomped inside. Then I saw her. Ivory, crumpled on the floor. She was sobbing, hard. My anger flared even more. Had something happened to her? Did someone hurt her? I rushed to her. "Ivory!" I pulled her up, holding her body in place. "What happened? What's wrong

  • CAGED BY HIM   Chapter Thirty-Eight

Tristan’s POVI was so angry yesterday, Ivory had rejected me when I tried to make love to her. She turned me down. My anger boiled. No one, not a single woman had ever turned me down like that before. No one made me feel this way.I thought allowing her and Stella out yesterday, would make her feel less hurt by whatever I did to her, maybe. Isn't that what women like? Being "spoiled"? I felt deep annoyance, a fury burning inside me. I stormed into the office. "Tristan!" I heard Elijah call my name, but I ignored him. I was too frustrated to reply. I walked right into my office.A few minutes later, the door swung open. Elijah's voice sounded annoyed. "Tristan, I've been calling... Oh," then he stopped when he saw my face. "What's wrong?" He walked over and dropped into the chair across from me. "Tell me. What did you do this time? Because I know only Ivory can mess you up like this."I stared at him, my gaze cold. "What do you mean, 'did this time'?" I snapped "What happened?" he

  • CAGED BY HIM   Chapter Thirty-Seven

Ivory’s POVWhen I woke up, my whole body ached, a dull, heavy feeling settling deep inside me. I glanced beside me and Tristan wasn't there. My chest tightened, and a sharp pang hit me. I felt sad and disappointed. Why would I ever think he would ever care about me? I was just a game to him. When he's done, he'll toss me aside. After everything he had done to me, he still had the nerve to call me names and insult me. He'd always remain the cruel guy who loves to prey on others' vulnerability, and I'd always remain his desperate prey. I hated myself for giving myself up despite knowing what he'd done, and knowing this was just a game to him. I wish I could go back in time to change that day, that night. Tears pricked at my eyes, but I quickly wiped them off. Not today. Not again.I stood up to head to the bathroom when I heard a knock at the door. I walked over and a guard stood there with Stella beside him, grinning widely at me. I just stared at her in shock, as if I'd just seen a g

Ivory's POVTristan yanked me out of the car as soon as we arrived home. He pulled me into the room, his grip harsh and painful, tugging at my long hair, forcing me to meet his cold, angry gaze."Just because I've let you out lately, you think you can start whoring yourself?" he spat, his voice cold and threatening, his anger palpable. "You think you can act however you want because I've been lenient?"I trembled, tears streaming down my face. "T-Tristan, I swear, I-I didn't do anything." My voice cracked under the weight of his anger. He mocked my words. "I-i didn't do anything," he sneered, his words dripping with disdain. "Shut the fuck up, you whore."His words pierced through me. Each insult felt like a knife to my chest. I should be the one angry. He kidnapped me and threatened me into a twisted marriage. I followed his rules, even though they weren't what I wanted, and now he was the one raging at me, throwing insults like they were nothing.I sobbed harder. "I don't want to s

  • CAGED BY HIM   Chapter Thirty-Five

Tristan's POVI couldn't shake this odd urge; I felt an overwhelming eagerness to get home. It was a strange pull I couldn't explain. I parked the car in the garage and hurried inside. As soon as I stepped through the door, I heard loud chatter coming from the kitchen. Anger bubbled up inside me. Maids should focus on their work, not lounge around the house gossiping. But then I heard it. Soft giggles. That sound could only belong to one person. My feet moved toward the kitchen, drawn in despite my irritation. Inside, I found Ivory cooking while Clara sat on a stool, chatting away. The laughter between them made my blood boil. Hadn't I made it clear that Ivory should stay out of the kitchen? Was this why she insisted I hire Clara?I stood there watching them, my fists clenched, my anger flaring.. Clara was the first to notice me. She jumped up from the stool, her voice shaky, "Welcome, Sir Tristan." She rushed over to Ivory, trying to take over her task. When Ivory heard my name, she
