Liam’s pov

She had the audacity to punch me. Square in the face.

And now she was running.

The sting of her knuckles still pulsed against my cheek, but it wasn’t the pain that set fire to my blood—it was the shock. No one touched me like that. No one ever dared. But Elizabeth had.

And worse… she looked good doing it.

I ripped the gloves off my hands and tossed them to the floor with a growl, my eyes narrowing as I chased after her, each step pounding with adrenaline. She thought this was a game. She thought she could hit me and flirt her way out of the consequences.

Well, she wasn’t wrong.

I reached the hallway, just in time to see her peeking around the corner, grinning like she hadn’t just struck the most dangerous man she knew.

“Oh, Liam,” she called in a teasing voice. “Did that hurt?”

“Come here,” I growled.

She giggled—actually giggled—and took a step back. “Mmm, you look mad. Are you gonna spank me now?”

My jaw clenched.

She was playing with fire. And I wanted to burn.

I stalked

  • CAGED IN HIS OBSESSION    Chapter 35

Liam’s povThe sound of my fists slamming into the heavy bag echoed off the stone walls of the training room—my own private gym hidden beneath the west wing of the estate. It wasn’t polished like the rest of the house. No sleek decor, no refined edges. Just iron bars, leather punching bags, and grit.Exactly what I needed. Each blow landed harder than the last, sweat soaking through my shirt and dripping from my jaw. I kept seeing their faces. The men who touched her. Who hurt her. Every time I blinked, I saw the ropes cutting into her wrists, the blood drying on her skin, her eyes wide with fear. Every punch I threw was aimed at a ghost I hadn’t been able to kill. They should’ve suffered more.My knuckles were already bruised, but I didn’t stop. Pain was a friend. Pain made sense. Unlike her. Unlike the way she looked at me last night, as if unsure whether she hated me more for saving her or caging her again. She was right to be confused.I was too.She tried to run. And yet, she nev

The sun was up, but the room remained dim. Heavy curtains cloaked the windows, shielding her from the warmth outside. Elizabeth stirred beneath the thick duvet, every muscle aching, her skin still sensitive from yesterday’s punishment. Her body remembered what her mind was trying to suppress—sharp whips, tight restraints, the fear, the humiliation. But more than that, she remembered Liam. She turned her head on the pillow, finding the spot beside her empty. He hadn’t come back last night. Not even once. She didn’t know what she wanted more—his presence or his absence. Her throat was dry, and when she sat up, the pain lanced through her spine like fire. She winced, hugging her arms around herself. The coat she had slept in was now draped across the chair, replaced by a soft cotton nightdress someone must’ve changed her into while she drifted in and out of sleep. She reached for the bottle of water he had left on the nightstand. It was only half full now, the edge of the cap dented from

Liam’s povThe moment the second tracker blinked alive, I knew she was close. They thought they could rip out the one I placed in her neck and I’d be blind?Idiots. They didn’t know me at all. There were three others. Hidden. Beneath her skin. One between her thighs. One under her rib. And one—my favorite—resting softly beneath her left breast. Only I knew the patterns of her body well enough to place them. Only I was close enough to get that intimate. It lit up the screen like a pulse. They moved her.A new building, on the outskirts of the city. Hidden beneath the cloak of silence and wealth. An old estate converted into some underground fortress, with guards who didn’t speak and doors that locked from the outside. She was inside. And they were going to pay for every second she was there.I drove without blinking, without breathing. The rage in me wasn’t loud—it was cold. Controlled. I didn’t scream. I didn’t growl. I didn’t slam my fist into the wheel like in the movies.I just dro

The cold bit into her skin as Elizabeth sat slumped on the floor, her wrists tied behind her, her ankles shackled. The air in the room was damp, metallic, and still. A faint humming echoed through the stone walls, the sound of machinery somewhere beyond her reach. The only source of light came from a single bulb overhead, casting her shadow long and lonely against the cracked concrete. Her breathing was uneven. Shallow. Each inhale came with a slight tremor. Her body still bore the marks from days of captivity—scratches, bruises, the faint purple band of where a collar had once clung to her neck. She didn’t know how long she’d been here. Hours. Maybe days. Time didn’t move the same way when you weren’t free. Then she heard it—the sound of metal clicking from outside the door. Her head jerked up.Footsteps.Two sets. She tensed, her back straightening despite the ache that rippled through her spine. The door creaked open slowly, letting in a shaft of hallway light that pierced the dimn

The silence in Liam’s private suite was more deafening than any scream. He stood motionless in front of the wide monitor, eyes locked on the flashing red alert that now pulsed across the top right corner of the screen:“Primary Tracker: Offline. Signal Disconnected.”For an entire minute, he didn’t move. Didn’t blink. Then slowly—calmly—he inhaled through his nose and whispered to himself.“So… they found the one in her neck.”There was no panic. No yelling. Just a slow, simmering shift in his eyes—a storm swirling beneath cold, calculated silence. He walked over to the console, fingers hovering above the panel, and entered the override code for his deeper GPS access. His backup plan. The screen flickered.Then—beep.Tracker #2: ACTIVE. Location pinged.Tracker #3: ACTIVE. Biometric readings stable.A smirk twitched at the corner of his mouth.“You really thought one chip would be enough, didn’t you, my love?” he murmured. “Oh, Elizabeth. You still don’t understand me at all.”He walk
