"I appreciate everything you have been doing for me but I shouldn't get used to all this, this is not my home," Purity replied.
"You can make this your home, what do you think?" He arched his eyebrows.
"Sooner or later my grandpa will know I'm missing and you will be in deep trouble if they find me here,"
"You care about what happens to me?"
"Yes, the same way you cared for me when you helped me. If not for anything at least I should return the favor,"
"After lunch, we will go to my pent house, then allow me handle everything," he said tasting the food.
"How is it?" She asked nervously.
"Let me eat, you should also eat to add weight, is that not what your friend said the day you talked to him?"
"I would have wanted to talk to him but I guess by now they are tracking his every move," she shrugged.
"Can you tell me more about your cousin, Georgina?" He requested.
"She didn't study in the country and I rarely go to family dinners. I don't know much about her, I think we have met only three times. We don't get along because she said I'm a weakling and she is rude. Why do you ask about her? How did you know her?"
"In the business world you know so many people from the same world, it surprised me that I didn't know you," he responded.
"She has a soft side though, she shows to people her class. I can say she is good,"
"Hmmm," was all he said.
After the meal she decided to try on the clothes.
"I want to try the clothes,"
"I should give you space in the room?"
"No, you bought them, you can tell me of it's good,"
Seems like he knew her size as all the dresses fitted her perfectly revealing her curves.
"Thank you so much, if you ask me, you didn't have to spend so much on me," she appreciated coming from the bathroom with the last dress.
It was a flowered round knee-high dress showing off her slender legs and pure skin. Her hair was tied in a messy bun with few strands across her face blending the look.
She looked beautiful and could get any man off his feet at first sight and he wasn't an exception. He was lost staring at her not listening to what she was saying.
"A penny for your thought?" She asked tapping him.
"You said?"
"I have been talking to myself for a long time, what were you thinking about? Hope all is well with work,"
"All is well, we can go now,"
She stuffed the clothes in a bag he gave to her and he carried it downstairs as she followed him.
Sandy was happy when Wilson announced the dinner at the family house, she wasn't going to cook for the night.
She rushed to her room to prepare for the dinner, she had to look her best to intimidate Georgina who always kills the day.
Her dressing code is always upto taste but not last time because Sandy managed to beat her to it and she wanted the same again.
She looked through her closet and she didn't have a new clothes.
"I need to do some shopping," she said to herself as she headed to Purity's room.
Purity has good clothes but rarely uses them, the last time she killed the day, it was Purity's dress and nobody would mind if she takes another dress today.
She went through Purity's closet and picked a royal blue long dress with a diamond pair of high heels then went to dress up.
As she walked down the stairs looking her best, Rita got up from the couch.
"How do I look mom?" She asked with a smile but Rita's reply shocked her.
"Don't you have your own clothes? Go, remove that and use your clothe," she instructed and she more than anybody else knew Rita was not joking.
"But this is not the first time I'm wearing her clothes after all she doesn't wear them,"
"Did you hear what I said?" Sandy turned and went to change the dress.
She returned the dress and the shoes back opting to go shopping later and avoid any further embarrassment.
She used her pink dress, it was the only that she hadn't worn for a long time. She just used it once to visit her boyfriend and she was sure Dave won't see her today.
Seeing her, Rita headed outside and she followed none of them talking to the other.
It was just four days since Purity disappeared and everything was a mess that Rita was starting to think in the direction of getting a maid.
She was so angry that she didn't see everything her daughter was doing for the family and just supported someone who was out to destroy her family.
There was no traffic and it didn't take long before they arrived at the house. They were the first to arrive and Greg's family wasn't there yet.
Sandy sat at the far end of the living room as Gina and her brother, Tony entered the house, as always her dressing code was something else.
"Look who we have here," Gina commented seeing her.
"Hello Gina, hello Tony" she greeted them calmly.
"Sandy, you look good," Tony commented and she felt like he was mocking her.
"I wonder why this time she didn't use Purity's clothes or maybe the poor girl has found some strength to fight," Gina said and she faced down.
Gina already knew, last time she looked good because it was Purity's dress and not hers.
"Is anybody home?" Gina's mom called from outside and they all kept quiet, Sandy sighed with relief as she was just saved from being insulted.
"Gina, you guys drive quite fast," Greg commented seeing them.
"Hello Sandy," Greg greeted her.
"Hello uncle, hello aunty," she greeted both of them.
"Dad you should make yourself comfortable, I want to go to the kitchen and help the maids with whatever they need," Gina spoke looking at Sandy with a smirk.
"What time did you arrive Sandy?" Greg asked.
"Thirty minutes ago," Sandy replied.
"Dad we arrived just now," Gina chipped in before being asked.
"She didn't even offer a helping hand? What kind of daughter did my brother raise?" Greg asked and Sandy looked up to face Gina, she couldn't miss the smirk that was on her face.
She got up and headed for the kitchen leaving then there and Sandy followed her smiling mischievously.
"Hello, cousin," Sandy greeted again reaching the kitchen and the maids just ignored them and continued with their work.
"What do you want from me?" Sandy asked.
"What can I want from you? We are not in the same class, we are not related, I only have one cousin, Purity and you are not my type," Gina shrugged.
"What can I help you with?" Sandy asked the maids ignoring her.
"We are done, we just need to take all this bowls on the table," the head chef responded and Sandy picked one bowl heading to the living room.
Gina did the same, there is no way she was going to look like the bad person. As they finished bring the bowls, everyone was seated and they did the same.
"It has been long we had a family dinner and I thought at such a crucial we need this," the old man spoke.
"Let's enjoy the dinner dad," Greg said.
"We should not forget that my first granddaughter is missing,"
The whole table went silent with only the sound of cutleries being heard.
"Sandy, is there something we need to know about the missing of my first granddaughter?" The old man asked after they were done with the meal.
"No grandpa, I don't know where she is," She replied immediately.
"Sandy every Sunday you send your sister to get you drinks from that bar at two but this particular Sunday you send her at six thirty and twenty minutes after she arrives at the bar, it is being attacked. Don't you think it's more than just a coincidence?" Greg asked.
"Sandy you drink?" Gina asked.
"I can't plan that, I don't even know the people who attacked the bar" Sandy replied.
"But you can plan theft in your father's account?" Greg asked.
"What are you talking about?" Wilson asked.
"Two weeks ago two million was transferred from your account to an unknown account and till today you are trying to trace the account, stop the investigation brother because your saint daughter did it with the help of her boyfriend Dave," the silence on the table was so much that even a pin fall could be heard.
Sandy shifted uncomfortably on the seat. Dave had promised her it was a clean job and nobody will find out but who was she kidding, this was the Wilson family.
Sandy shifted on her seat uncomfortably.
He had lost everything so there is nothing he could lose now that will hurt him. "We'll see about that, time will tell," he responded. It didn't mean he was trusting her but giving her the benefit of the doubt won't be that bad, he had even planned to run away with the child immediately it's born and even leave the country so if she gives him or not, he will leave. "I'll be in my room," she walked out. Finally the awaited day was here, everybody who beared Wilson as the surname was seated in the living room waiting for thel lawyer to arrive. Since that day the images were still fresh in her mind and everytime she remembered she was legally tired down to him, it hurt her more.Heaven knew she had done her best in acting to be fine and she should actually win the award of the best actress of the year. Denzel broke her into pieces she didn't know if she will ever recover and to add on that she hadn't been feeling well. She didn't want to be here but according to Papa that wa
To pass time they had to go do some shopping but it was boring as nobody talked to the other unless need be. "Why are you silent? What happened in there?" Purity decided to break the silence not wanting Gina to suspect anything. "He didn't forgive me," "Was it because I burged into you guys? I'm so sorry," "It's okay, I actually wanted you to do that. Everything is fine. Let's just go home we will come back next time to do some shopping," Gina said walking towards the counter to pay for what she had picked.Denzel tried so many times to call purity but she didn't pick neither did she respond to his messages. He couldn't concentrate on his work anymore as all he could see was that face filled with shock and those eyes that were teary breaking his heart. As Purity walked into her room, she locked the door behind her then dropped on the floor in tears, her heart was busting with everything she had persevered the whole way. He lied to her and broke her heart into a
Not wanting to get her angry, he decide to wake her up. It won't be a good idea going with her without her consent. "Princess," he called her gently several times till she opened her eyes "We are here," he announced and she rubbed her eyes looking outside. "What's the time?" "Three," he responded. "I have to go," He took a bottle of water and handed it to her. "Thank you," she appreciated, took her handbag and removed her hair brush. He took it from her and brushed her hair. "Let me know once you get home," he said and she nodded. "You can go, nobody is around," he told her. It's always hard to say goodbye and he never thought it will happen to him. He removed the chain on his neck and wore it on her. "It's beautiful," "Never take it of," She nodded, he kissed her and opened the door helping her down, she waved and started walking away and he started driving the car at a low speed till she entered the gate then he drove off.
She flipped her eyebrows then closed her eyes embarrassed, what her mind was thinking, she also couldn't believe herself. She couldn't think straight and all the questions she wanted to ask him just evaporated through the window, she also wanted to tell him to stay away but didn't think it was okay again. He was about to kiss her when a car horned behind them reminding him that he wasn't really out of the road. He got off her making her frustrated but he only smiled getting down from the car to move, he didn't want be interrupted later but she was angry and wanted to get out and leave.Greg was heading to the family house and he saw Denzel going to drive off, he wanted to go and talk to him but his wife stopped him. "What are you going to do?" His wife asked. "Talk to him, he treated our daughter so badly and since then I have not been able to talk to him," he responded. "Let the sleeping dog lie, we both don't know what he is doing around this area, he has never b
Seconds turned into minutes, minutes into hours as he waited for her response but she didn't reply. At around midnight, he couldn't hold it anymore, he dialed her number.Remembering she tried to reach out to Andrew but couldn't talk to him, she thought it was him when she walk to the ringing phone and saw a new number. "Hello," she said sounding sleepy and he felt happy hearing her voice even though it was nolonger close to him. "You are still awake at this time, do you miss me," he flirted and her heart stopped pumping blood. What was she thinking, that she would just leave and everything will go back to normal? Seems she was wrong. "Stop calling me," in her mind she said it so boldly and courageously like she meant it but who was she kidding, her voice let her down and he chuckled. "Are you sure about that?" He asked making her start doubting herself. Was she sure he wanted him to stop? She hasn't been able to sleep well since she laid her head down all because
Sitting on the bed, Purity couldn't help but miss him. Was it a rational decision that she made? What if she listened to what he had to say? "He is a murderer," she comforted herself. "Why don't you report him to the police if he really is a murderer?" Her subconscious mind asked her and she sighed. She loves him so much that she didn't think she could see him suffer in the hands of the police let alone being locked up.And what if they jail an innocent man? She wasn't even sure if he was the one that murdered those men that were laying on the floor. There were other people around who even had guns but he didn't. "Did I judge him so quickly?" She asked herself. "But he was beating up someone and he had so much blood on himself," her subconscious mind reminded her and she laid on the bed facing the wall. Come to think of it, her family aren't saints, if she starts counting the offences her family members have done, then it will take ages before she complete
