Chapter 8: Stepping Firmly on the Ground

The traffic light didn't turn green, but Mason pressed the accelerator, and the black Porsche dashed out like a lurking leopard in the night. Elaine's body leaned backward, too preoccupied to even glance at the Bentley beside them. Startled and clutching her chest, she looked at Mason.

Mason's expression remained unchanged as he simply said, "If it bothers you, just don't look."

Elaine bit her lip lightly. After all, they were not her, so how could they understand her pain?

In the past, when she saw Sarah, it was like a mouse seeing a cat, wanting to hide. But now... it was like a cat seeing a mouse, wanting to pounce on her and tear her apart, especially when they flaunted their affection, poking her eyes with their sweetness.
