Monica's stepfather's voice came through the phone dismissive, “Put away your emotions, child and think carefully. Moreover, why would he be with his cousin? You must be overthinking the situation. ”

Monica's brows furrowed. “He cheated on me with his own family. He's disgusting.” She screamed into the phone.

Arguing with her stepdad always riled her up, because no matter what they argued on, she will still end up doing his bidding and it infuriates her.

“Watch your tone girl, All men cheat. Moreover I still think you're reading too much into whatever you think you found out about those two. What proof do you have to back up these allegations anyway.”

The words stunned her.

Her stepfather continued as though he had said nothing unusual and her mother didn't utter a single sentence.

“You can't throw away a marriage because of something like this. Martin is the son of the most respected man in their family, and if everything goes according to plan, he could become the next CEO.”

Monica stared at the phone in disbelief. “So that's all that matters?” she asked.

“Monica, you're being childish. You should learn to tolerate certain things. Do you know how many women would gladly marry into that family?”

“I don't care.” Her voice finally cracked. “I refuse to spend the rest of my life with a man who doesn't love me.”

“You'll regret—”

Monica ended the call and put her phone to silent.

She stood motionless in the middle of the hotel room.

For six months, she had let Martin fool her. She had even protected the innocence everyone seemed to value so much and looked forward to him being her first.

And what had it gotten her?

A cheating fiancé who had never loved her. A family that cared more about his future position than her happiness.

Monica slowly looked down at herself. Then something inside her hardened.

If everyone valued her purity and perfect image so much, perhaps it was time she stopped living for everyone else. She had been lectured on how a future heiress needs to keep a clean record and restrict access to herself for the sake of the family’s reputation.

She removed her coat with a determined expression. Since Martin could be as disgusting as he wishes, why should she be the doll?

Beneath the coat was a short, elegant dress she had bought but never dared to wear around Martin before.

She stared at her reflection in the mirror.

Tonight, she didn't want to be the obedient daughter or Martin's innocent fiancée.

She didn't want to be the woman everyone expected her to be. Tonight, she wanted to make one decision for herself.

Monica grabbed her handbag and walked out of the hotel.

The bar was dimly lit, the music low enough for conversations to blend into the background.

Monica stepped inside and looked around.

She wasn't looking for love or any relationship, but simply wanted to forget and rebel.

Her eyes moved across the room until they stopped on a man sitting alone at the far end of the bar.

He was mature, probably somewhere in his mid forties.

Unlike the younger men around him, he wasn't surrounded by friends or women.

He simply sat there quietly, one hand resting beside his glass. Even under the dim lighting, Monica could see that he was exceptionally handsome.

There was something calm and commanding about him. Something that made her hesitate.

But then Monica remembered why she had come, so she straightened her shoulders, walked toward him, and stopped beside his table.

The man lifted his eyes to her.

Monica gave him a small smile and asked “Can you buy me a drink?”

I ignored Martin's calls during the rest of his stay for work, which became successful. I later found out he had simply travelled to welcome his father who had been the one who sealed the deal he claimed to travel for.The news was none of my concern, until I was forced to attend a banquet held at the Montrose mansion. Apparently I need to act my fiancee part until I execute my plan and expose the lying duo of course.…….The Montrose mansion was crowded when I arrived.Music echoed through the enormous garden, while young heirs and wealthy socialites gathered around the pool. What a perverted party style. Why a pool party like they are a bunch of teenagers.Perhaps their guests had kinks about seeing lots of skin for entertainment. I greeted a few familiar faces among the crowd of people and stepped out to the backyard where the party was kicking off to start. The moment I stepped fully outside, my eyes immediately found Martin's, and beside him was Kelly. She was wearing a revealin

  • CEO: My Fiancé Father wants me   Getting physical

I reached for my phone on the bedside table. The moment I unlocked it, my stomach tightened. There are several missed calls from Martin, my mother and my stepfather.I stared at Martin's name for several seconds before dialing my mother’s line. She seemed to be alone and unlike how quiet she would be when my stepfather is present, she spoke with care and listened to me rant about everything that had happened the previous night, everything except the night with the stranger.I expressed my wish to cancel the marriage arrangements. She agreed to try her best to convince her husband. I doubt that man could be convinced by my mother though. But at least whatever steps I took to end the goddamn engagement, my mom already understood my reasons. She's the only one whose opinion truly matters to me.The next day.By the time I returned to my home, the atmosphere in the house was suffocating. My stepfather was waiting for me.The moment I walked through the door, his expression darkened. The private suite upstairs was quiet. The moment the door closed, the noise from the bar disappeared completely.I stood near the entrance, suddenly unsure of what I was doing. The man noticed my brief hesitation, “You can still change your mind, baby.”My heart skipped a bit. He had just called me what he admitted to calling the woman he would be screwing all night. I looked at him, then I shook my head.“No, daddy.”His gaze darkened with something unfathomable to me as the word daddy left my lips. He approached slowly, giving me every opportunity to move away, but I didn't.His calmness made it easier to breathe. There was no pressure in his touch, no rush. He seemed determined to let me decide what happened next. And somehow, that made me trust him even more. For the first time that night, I stopped thinking about Martin. I stopped thinking about Kelly or the stupid marriage arrangement. I stopped thinking about my family who doesn't seem to care about my happiness and simply let

Monica’s POVThe man raised an eyebrow at me. Then he glanced around the bar like I had lost my way, before his gaze settled back on me. The intensity in his piercing grey eyes made me shudder on the inside.“Why did you choose me to buy you a drink, young lady?” His voice was deep, calm, and slightly amused.I glanced around the bar to try understanding his reasoning better. There were plenty of younger men sitting alone or surrounded by friends. Some were already watching me, probably wondering why a woman dressed like me had walked into the bar alone and approached the older gentleman. I looked back at the man in front of me.“Because you're the most handsome man here.” I said with a shrug. For a moment, he simply stared at me, then he laughed. It wasn't a mocking laugh. If anything, he seemed genuinely entertained by my answer.“You're quite direct, young lady.”I shrugged, trying not to let him see how nervous I actually was. “I don't see a reason to lie.”His smile faded sligh

  • CEO: My Fiancé Father wants me   He's cheating

Monica had always believed that love was supposed to feel like coming home. She had grown in a home full of love at least until her father died and her mom had remarried. She had however looked forward to the kind of love her parents once had, in her future husband. Six months ago, her family had arranged for her to date Martin, the younger son of one of the most powerful families in the city. At first, Monica had been reluctant until she met Martin. He had been patient, respectful and charming, understanding of her reluctance to ease up to him. He took her out to expensive restaurants, sent her flowers, and slowly convinced her that perhaps an arranged relationship did not have to be loveless. He was funny, observant to her needs and gentle with her space. Eventually, Monica fell for him. She fell for the man who had made sure she couldn’t go a night without a certain someone making sure she's okay. She began to daydream about a future as sweet and successful as her parents h
