A bright morning greeted Laura, sunlight spilling softly across the room while the sound of Adam's pet birds filled the air. A dozen maids stood neatly on both sides of the bed, waiting for her to open her eyes—they'd been there for half an hour already.

"Wake up, Emma..." Laura whispered, gently shaking Emma, who was still curled up beside her.

Emma stirred, stretching before blinking awake. As soon as Laura sat up, Emma followed suit—only to freeze in shock at the sight of the maids lined up before them.

"Good morning, Miss Laura, Miss Emma," the maids greeted in unison.

Before Emma could react, two of them rushed forward, guiding her politely but firmly out of the bed and toward another room. The rest helped Laura to her feet, escorting her into the bathroom.

The scent of roses hit her immediately. The room was warm, filled with the soft sound of running water and the faint hum of preparation. A massage table awaited her, covered in fresh linen.
