Chapter 6

CEO's Cold But Sweet Wife

"Mom! Did you know I got full marks on my test today? The teacher always looks at me with acknowledgements." The little boy said to his mom feeling proud as he rubbed his nose with a chubby hand "Aren't I too cool!?"

 Kristi looked at her cute little son who was funny. She smiled "Ye—" but before she could speak any word, Feng interrupted her "I know! I know! I'm cool!! Enough of these compliments."

  "Hahaha!" Kristi burst out into laughter "Okay! Okay!"

 Feng giggled "Hehehe!" He saw a small ice cream shop on the way "Mommmmmm!! Ice-cream!! He said pointing out there with a cute little chubby hand.

  Kristi looks in his pointing direction " You wanna eat Ice-Cream? But—" again, Feng interrupted her "Ahem!! Ice-Cream is bad for teeth, so I was going to stop you." He stares at her with his beautiful Phoenix eye "Got it? You shouldn't eat ice cream no matter how much your heart, the soul begged for!"

 Kristi chuckled feeling funny. Ice cream was her son's favourite and whenever she tries to declines, he always acts this.

 Whenever he craves to eat, he pretends like, it's not for him but her. He tries to act like a different person. 

 Kristi knew that Feng wants to eat Ice-Cream very much. 

 Kristi turns back "Alright! As your wish young master!! Let's go home then. Shall we?"

  She just walked out quietly.

 Feng's mouth was wide opened like, what just happened? It wasn't supposed to end this way after all, it was completed different then what he thought after all. The ending was something like ~Oh my dear son, You're my good son. I'll buy lot of Ice-Cream.~

 "Ahem! Ahem! You see like, you shouldn't stop yourself. Your heart, mouth, soul even your whole body is curving for Ice cream. I can plainly see that. So, Don't worry. I'll let you eat this time... So..." 

 Kristi turns back as her son blinks his eye twice and smile with his cute little lips. "...So??"

 "So, You can eat it! Go on! Go on! I won't stop you. But only this time, Alright?" He warned her like a strict teacher but was so cute and adorable that, Kristi was blushing secretly.

  "Hmmm..." Kristi acted like she was thinking deeply. She slightly turns around and started to laugh secretly without making a sound then looked at her son who was looking forward to learn her answer, controlling her laugh, she said "Okay!!"

 Feng flashed a huge smile, but he immediately came back to normal and acted as a strict parent "Alright then! Don't eat too much. I'm just letting you eat for today. Don't expect for next time."

  Kristi giggled silently, as she replied "Sure, Young Master!!"

 Kristi and Feng both went to the small ice cream shop on the street.

 She brought only one ice cream.

"Wow... It looks so tasty." She mumbled staring at the ice cream.

  Feng peeked at the ice cream as he swallows his saliva. 

 He was waiting for his turn eagerly but...

 "Alright! Young Master... Let's ho home now. By the way, thank you very much for letting me eat this one. This..." She explained showing the ice cream near him "Chocolate ice cream. It looks tasty right?"

 Feng swallows his saliva "Y-Yeaaahhhh!!"

Wherever she moves the ice cream, his eyes follow to that direction like he was hypnotised.

  Kristi was feeling really hilarious.

 "Mmmmm" Kristi licked the Ice cream like a kid "It's so tasty!!

  " M-Mom! I..."

 "Yeah, What happened?"

 "N-Nothing! Nothing at all. I don't need that. No need to give me okay?"

Kristi covered her mouth feeling trying to hold back her laughter. She looked at her cute little boy, who was trying to act strong.

  "But I never notified you that I was going to give it to you!"

  Feng's whole body got stiff as he tried to avoid her gaze "R-Really? I... I thought I heard that..." He slightly laughed "He...he...he..."

Kristi raised her eyebrow "Oh, Okay! Okay! I was thinking of buying another for you since it tastes very good. But—"

"What!? Really?" Feng tried to stay calm "Ahem! Ahem! O-Okay! Since you're persuading  me so much to taste the ice cream, I shall accept it."

 Kristi felt really funny by his cute little act. She brought the chocolate ice cream, Feng's favourite ice cream and Feng was very happy but he was trying his best to calm himself in front of Kristi.

  Kristi looked at her son who was enjoying his ice cream very much.

Ever since Feng came into her life, her whole life changed. She forgot about that sad past, about those people who gave her so much grief.

She finally had somebody to whom she can love as much as she wants and the person who loves her more than anything in the world.

They only had each other and were very happy with each other too.

~At home~

 Feng opened the T.V and started to watch the life of wild animals. Instead of watching cartoons, he had always loved watching animals and their lifestyle.

  When he was changing the channel, he saw a big dinosaur which was very big like a mountain.

  "Mom! I want to see dinosaurs. Can we go and see them? Please!!" Feng requested his mom as he was really interested in it.

  Kristi frown "Dinosaur?"

 Feng nodded his head "Yeah! Yeah! I just saw the movie of the dinosaur. It was..." He stretched his little hand as much as he can "This... Big..." He looked at his mom with his cute little puppy eye "Mommmm!! 

 Kristi nodded her eye as she gave a wry smile " Al-Alright!" She couldn't defy him even though she wanted to. That was Feng hidden talent to whom, no one can defy him once they take a look at his cute little puppy eye.

  Kristi gave a helpless sigh as she thought helplessly ~Dinosaur? How will I show him the dinosaur now? What should I do now?"Just then she had an idea "Uh! Museum!!"

 Kristi smiled "I'll take you on weekend then. Is that okay?"

 Feng was very happy as he nodded his head twice "Sure!!" He hopped by his little chubby leg feeling excited "Yes! Yes! Yahoo... I am going to see dinosaurs... Dinosaur...Dinosaur..."

 Kristi smiled "This little guy!!"

~At morning~

 Kristi and Feng waited at the bus stop for Feng school's bus.

  "Feng! Be a good boy and listen to your teacher okay?" She notified him as she made his hair.

 Feng nodded his head revealing his cute teeth "Sure! I will be a good kid."

She patted on his shoulder gently "That's like a good boy."

 Feng bus came to fetch him up. Before he went inside the bus, he asked her with a hint of hope in his adorable eye "Will you come to pick me up today as well? Or will you be busy with your work again?"

 Kristi shook her head with a wry smile "I'm sorry little boy. I won't be able to come today."

 Feng nodded his head with a smile trying to hide his disappointment "No need to apologise. It's okay. Do your best, mommy! Bye, Bye, Love you."

 "Love you too. Don't worry, Aunt will come to pick you up like always. Be a good boy to aunt okay."

 "Sure! I will."

Kristi looked at her son's bus go until it disappeared from her vision. There was trash of disappointment in her face as well.

 She went straight to her job as she greeted everyone "Good morning everyone!!"

 "Good morning!"

"Good morning, Kristi!"

"Oh hey Kristi, Good morning!"

 Everyone greeted her back. It was a restaurant which was famous in the city and mostly many high-class people came to have dinner here. She was the Sous chef. She was just the small chef with an average income from which she can at least live a life with no problem like, educating her son, eating but, buying clothes and doing outdoor work, it was a little difficult.

Simon, her head chef also greeted her "Good morning, Kristi!"

 "Hello, head chef! You finally returned after 3 days from your bed. " She giggled slightly "Are you alright now? How is your fever?"

 Simon laughed narrowly feeling a little embarrassing "Well... Yeah! I'm good."

"Oh! I'll have to go now. I need to make dishes. There are many customers here already."

 Simon nodded his head "Sure!" As he gazed at her back until it disappeared from his sight.

“Head Chef!!” The familiar voice summoned him by patting on his back. He turns behind and saw Nina, an Employee of the restaurant as a waiter.

 “Nina? What happened?” 

“Ahm...” Nina grinned “Aren't you looking at her too much?”

 Simon suddenly felt embarrassing as he blushed trying to avoid her gaze “Y-You're just... I-Imagining thing.”

  “Oh... Is that so?” 

  “Yeah... Yeah, of course.” He responded trying to avoid her gaze 

  “Then... Why are you trying to avoid my gaze?” Nina asked.

 Simon took two, three-step back “I... I have to go now. I need to make dishes now.” He got away from her as soon as possible but was again stopped by Nina “Are you trying to run away from me?”

 Simon shook his head twice “No! No! No! Of course not. Not at all. You're just taking it into the wrong way. You know like... Uh...”

 “Is that so? Do I look like a dumb person?” Nina sighed “It’s no use even if you try to hide things. It's not like no one knows! Every employee here knows that you are in love with Kristi! What's the use of hiding?”

  “What? Everyone's knows?” Simon was startled. He had always thought that he was doing his best to hide it but—

  Nina sighed “Of course!! It’s very obvious.” She patted on his shoulder feeling sympathy for him “You know what, even some customers know how you feel about her, but she is the only person who doesn’t know about it.” Nina sighed “I can't believe just how clueless could she be? Why just don’t you tell her about your feeling? If this goes on, she will be taken by another person, and here you will just be watching like always.” 

  “Yeah! But...” Simon sighed “ I’m scared but not to be rejected but about her feeling. I'm scared that she might hate me if I told her about my feelings?”

  “Why would you even think that way? You know she is not that kind of person.”

“Yeah but... Before that, I want to know about her about her past, so that I can fill that hole in her heart. When I tried to ask her about her past, I could never forget that emotion in her eye. She was hurt, she was in pain. For the first time she had requested me to never ask about it again... And since then—”

 Nina interrupted him “Wait for a second! That was four years ago. It was when she had Feng in her womb. It’s already been four and half years. Who knows she might have already forgotten about her past and move on.”

Nina smiled “Instead of trying to fill her heart hole, why don’t you be her light? A new light where there is only happiness, joy, pleasure. Feng is like pure light, warm light for her. Instead of trying to fit into them, try to be a new light for both of them. She loves Feng more than anything in the world, so I warn you... If you 2nat to take her heart, don’t try to replace Feng. Otherwise....”

 Simon slightly smiled “I know... She will hate me to the core of her heart.”

  She patter on his shoulder “Do your best, alright?”

 Simon nodded his head “Sure!!”
