A one-night stand

“It all started with a fatal attraction of one night stand."

A man could be seen on the lounge, holding a low ball glass filled with alcohol. He was none other than the Business Tycoon, Augustus Ferrari of Sapphire Groups- the top business organization in Italy. The dim lights of the bar was only making his face visible. His red eyes were clearly showing that he had drunk too much. Staring at the alcohol, he gulped it and then wiped the mouth using the back of his palm.

Augustus’ eyes were closing because of the alcohol he consumed till then but, the man was not going to stop anytime soon. “Excuse me, sir,” voiced the manager of the bar.

Augustus lifted his head and glared into the eyes of the manager. “Speak,” he said with a cold tone.

“Sir, the bar is going to close. You shall pay you bills and leave for your home. Shall I call a taxi for you?” The manager asked politely while joining his both hands. Augustus took out a credit card from his pocket and forwarded it to the manager. “H-here, make the payment,” Augustus stated. The manager took the credit card, thanked Augustus and went to make the payment at the counter.

After a minute, the manager came back to Augustus and returned his card. “Sir, here is your credit card and bill. Let me take you till the taxi.” The manager offered but Augustus refused. “I can go myself,” Augustus asserted and stood up the lounge, holding the blazer in his hand.

With wavered steps he came out of the bar and looked around. The streets were emptied as it was probably midnight or past midnight. He did know, neither he bothered to check about the time. With wavered steps he moved forward and kept walking on those lone streets, aimlessly.

“Why did she do that?” Augustus murmured. Something was going on with him when he stopped and looked at the moon which was the only source of light in that dark, lonely night. A chuckle escape his mouth and he again started walking, with his half closed eyes.

Suddenly Augustus was hit by someone and he fell on the ground. Before he could react, the person grabbed him by the collars and pulled him up. “Give me whatever you have,” the person told Augustus as he put the knife closer to Augustus’ neck who was not startled at all by this.

“Kill me. I have not enough strength to kill myself. So, if you will kill me then I will get peace,” the person heard Augustus which freaked him out. “Hey, don’t be smart with me,” the robber threatened Augustus and searched up his pockets. He found the wallet and pushed Augustus thus, making him fall on the ground.

The robber was checking the wallet and saw loads of cash in that which gleamed him eyes. He almost took out the monies from the wallet when the robber felt a punch on his face and he fell near Augustus.

With a lightning speed, the robber grabbed Augustus and put the knife near his neck as he pulled him up along with him. “Don’t come closer else I will kill him,” the robber said. Augustus saw a woman in front of her. She had chocolate hair and a pair of hazel eyes.

“I do not think you will be able to kill him,” the woman pronounced as she stepped forward. Augustus was so lost in her Hazel eyes that he almost forgot that he was taken a hostage by a robber.

“D-don’t move forward if you don’t want this man to die,” the robber shouted in a threatening tone and brought the knife closer to Augustus’ neck. The woman looked at Augustus and then said, “You need this money, right? Leave him then. Here take this wallet.”

The woman put forwarded a deal with the robber. “Put the wallet on the ground and do not move at all else this man is dead,” the robber warned that woman who agreed to him. She moved forward a bit, bent on her knees and put the wallet on the ground.

Standing up, she stepped back and told the robber to leave the man. The robber still had a hold on Augustus and bent down along with him to pick the wallet. “Don’t be clever else I will slit his throat, right away,” the robber kept threatening the woman as he bent on his knees to pick the wallet up.

The woman got the chance and kicked at the shoulder of the robber such that the robber lost his grip from Augustus as he fell back but the wallet was still in his hands. The woman ran towards him and pulled him up. She again threw a punch at him and took the wallet from his hand.

“You shall not rob people taking the advantage of their situation,” the woman told the robber when she head the footsteps. She turned and saw three men were coming towards them which shocked her because it seemed that they were with the robber. She quickly went to Augustus, grabbed his arm and pulled him up.

“Run,” Augustus heard the woman as she held his hand. But before they could run, those four persons surrounded them. “You should not have intervened in this matter. Now, you will lose your life,” one of them told to the woman who came forward and shielded Augustus behind her back.

Two of them attacked that woman when she used the kick and hit at them. Swiftly she moved to the third one and knocked him down, snatching the knife from his hand.

Augustus, on the other hand, was dumbfounded seeing the woman in front of his eyes. Never once he had seen such a fierce woman in his life. His gaze was intact on her.

The woman was fighting ferociously with those four men and stabbed them such that they would only be injured only a bit. Throwing the knife, she came to Augustus and grabbed his hand. “Let’s run,” Augustus heard the woman and the two started running on that lone Street. The four men started chasing them in the van as one of them.

Both Augustus and the woman who was saving him now were in an isolated alley. They were panting heavily when they heard the sound of moving van. The woman looked around and saw a narrow gap in between the two residential houses. She pulled Augustus and the two now were in between that gap.

“How could we lose them? He had so much monies in his wallet,” the woman heard them.

“Search them. They must be nearby.”

The woman placed her palm over Augustus’ mouth and put her index finger on her lips, gesturing him not to making any noise. Their chest were raising up and down because of the run they just had.

“They are not here,” they both heard when Augustus moved forward to go out but the woman pulled him back and shook her head. Five minutes later, they came out of that narrow gap. Augustus’ hangover was turning over him. The woman turned to look at him when Augustus fell on her but she balanced herself.

“Hey, wake up!!” The woman softly said and patted on Augustus’ cheek. When he did not, the woman could not find any other way but, to take him to the nearest hotel when she realized that there was actually no hotel nearby except a motel. So, she decided to take Augustus there.

“Why my h-head is aching so much??” Augustus murmured as he gradually opened his eyes. The bright sun rays hit his eyes and he quickly closed them.

After a while, he opened them again and found himself in a strange place. “Where am I?” Augustus asked himself when he saw his shirt at the floor. He looked at himself and found he was half naked, lying on the bed and wrapped into the sheets.

He recalled the previous night where he was being saved by a woman but he did not able to recall the things after that just a faint memory where he was kissing that woman. He ran his fingers through his hair and said, “No, I cannot do anything to her. A one night-stand… I cannot have this.”
