Her misery

Jake's POV

"Grandpa, did you do it?" My hands were tightly clenched under the table while I was in front of Grandpa, the first time I heard what happened to Lorain was enough to turn my world upside down. I really wanted to go and ask them, I want to confirm if my family has anything to do about it.

But doing it might cause more harm to her, I don't want to come clean because if my suspicions are correct, I am the main reason why she was put in danger again.

Grandpa lowered the newspaper he was holding, his eyes were serious, and looked at me evilly. "Are you accusing me?" the anger in the tone of his voice was obvious.

"Not like that, that's why I'm asking you to find out if you really had nothing to do with what happened—"

He hit the table hard, "You haven't accused me of that situation yet? If you really didn't think I had anything to do with that accident then you wouldn't be here asking me nonsense in the first place!”

His voice echoed in the dining area, the servants around him
