CHAPTER SIXTEEN

Anika’s P.O.V

“You're sick," I told him. I expected him to be sad after getting fired because of me, but he seemed to be the opposite.

"I know, people tell me that all the time." He tossed his cigarette on the ground and crushed it with his foot.

"Well, it was nice meeting you, but I have to go now. Bye," he said, as he tried to leave, but I blocked his way.

He groaned. "What do you want from me now, princess?" he rolled his eyes.

"Will you accept my apology?" I asked.

"I do. Now, can you please let me leave?" He turned to go the other way, but I blocked that path too.

"Why don't you just let me go in peace? You've cost me my job, and I had to forgive you. What more do you want?"

"I mean, that apology wasn't right. I shouldn't have done what I did. I'm sorry," I sincerely said to him.

He gave me a skeptical look. "Do you mean it?" he asked.

"I do."

"You're not just faking an apology so I won't ruin your perfect image?" He raised an eyebrow.

"No, I swear," I insisted.
