CHAPTER TEN

Anika’s P.O.V

I stopped jogging when I saw a café nearby. I headed towards it, craving caffeine after my run and I needed it for the work I was going to be doing at the office.

Entering the café, I ordered coffee and found a seat by the window. As I sipped my drink, I enjoyed the peaceful atmosphere, accompanied by soft, soothing background music.

Fortunately, the café wasn't crowded, so there was minimal noise and disturbance from the few people around me which was barely any disturbance.

Lost in my thoughts, I felt a tap on my shoulder, interrupting my peace.

I turned back to see my cheating, backstabbing, money-hungry ex-boyfriend Richard, who had betrayed me and caused me so much pain.

Choking on my coffee, I coughed uncontrollably. Richard took the coffee from my hand and helped calm me down by patting my back.

Once I regained my composure, I ignored him and shrugged his hands off me.
