Just For A While

Rayan was shifted to the VIP cabin of the hospital. He was half-lying on his bed, his head resting on the headboard, scrolling his phone.

"Even now, in this situation, you aren't noticing me."

As the sudden voice filled the room, Rayan's eyes flipped open and he looked up at the person who was standing beside his bed, holding a bag. "Somin!" Here comes my fiancee who has finally found the time to visit me after a day of the accident.

Somin gave him an unusual smile as she sat on the couch beside the bed after putting the fruits bag down on the table. "Are you alright now?" She queried, in her voice, there was no sense of anxiety.

Rayan just nodded his head in response.

"When are you going back home?" She asked hastily as if she wants him to go back as soon as possible.

"Tomorrow." Rayan replied.

For a moment both of them remained silent before Somin broke it again. "Rayan."

"Did you meet her?" This time Somin's voice filled every corner of the room, deducting the silence.

Rayan's face hardened immediately. "You didn't want that, right?" He swallowed hard before he turned his face to her. "Why? Why did you do that? You knew what she meant to me." His eyes reddened.

Somin sighed. "That's the reason I did that. Rayan, you are meant to be mine." She asserted.

"And this damn fact has destroyed my entire life," Rayan shouted and Somin got shocked. "It is still destroying me." With that, Rayan closed his eyes and massaged his temple as his blood ragged inside him, he needs to control the anger that was building inside him before it explodes.

"How dare you?" Somin snorted in disbelief and stood up immediately. "How dare you to insult me like this? You know this better that you and your family need me. I'm the one who should be Mrs Rayan Richard."

Rayan chuckled, shaking his head. "I'm sorry! You are still not the one for me."

Somin's gaze darkened. "Shut up. You are just an illegitimate son."

Hearing that, Rayan froze, his heart ached and it felt like a wolf eating at his chest, tearing it's way to his trembling heart.

Somin didn't bother him, taking a soft breath she spoke again. "Your Mother was just a mistress. And." Before she could say further, someone knocked on the door and came in.

Somin turned back to see and her brows raised up seeing Crystal there. "Long time no see, Dr Crystal."

"Time to check up. Visitors should get out." Crystal avoided Somin's gaze and strode towards Rayan who was looking down, pale, and in pain.

Somin wasn't surprised by her attitude at all. Crystal was always like this. "I'm going home." She told Rayan before making her way out of the room.

Crystal heaved a deep sigh and looked at Rayan. "Are you okay?"

Rayan didn't look at her, didn't make a single move. "You heard everything, didn't you?" His cold, shaky voice pained Crystal's heart.

She bit her lower lip and lifted her hand up. She hesitated for a while before putting it on Rayan's hair, stroking gently.

Rayan gasped in shock and slowly moved his gaze up at her.

"Are you okay?" She asked again.

Rayan swallowed his own saliva and shook his head. "I'm not. I'm not okay. But... you have to forget this one." With that, he drew himself close to Crystal and wrapped his arms around her waist tightly, burying his face in her robe. He was trembling but he didn't know why. It's been eight years, he last hugged her.

Crystal was fully taken aback by him. "What... what are you doing?" She widened her eyes in shock, her hand still on his silky hair.

"Just for a while. Please let me stay like this. Please." Rayan pleaded, holding her more tightly. He could feel his heart calmed down, there was no pain anymore. It was now replaced with pleasure that was missing from his life for a long time.
