Chapter Nine

Finally, the day was over, Scar stepped out of the office building, the weariness evident in her movements.

The day had been long, and the weight of exhaustion pressed heavily on her small shoulders.

God knew that if killing was illegal, she’d have killed that Damn CEO.

The bustling streets of New York City stretched before her as she made her way to the side of the road, the yellow glow of taxi lights painting the asphalt in hues.

With a tired sigh, Scar raised her hand, and a taxi glided to a stop in front of her. The driver looked at her expectantly as she slid into the backseat. She told him her address, her voice reflecting the fatigue she felt.

The taxi maneuvered through the labyrinth of New York's streets, the cityscape a tapestry of lights and shadows. Scar gazed out of the window, lost in thought as the urban symphony played around her.

Finally, the taxi arrived at her destination. Scar paid the fare, swish of bills exchanging hands.
