‘It’s been exactly six days’, Chanda thought as she laid on her bed and stared at the ceiling of her room. Six days since she became Velkan’s Luna. Six days since she had come so close to tasting the freedom of death at the hands of Velkan.

Six days since she has been waiting in fear of his return.

“Rise and shine, my Luna. It’s time!!!” A young maid came into the room, singing at the top of her voice.

Chanda got to her feet. “Time for what, Mariam?”

Mariam was the new maid that Leia had assigned to her. She was a young teen with a bubbly energy that always amused Chanda.

“Time to show the world, the beauty that is the Goda Pack’s Luna.”

“Very funny.” Chanda smiled at Mariam and sat back on her bed.

“See, I told you. Your smile is really pretty.” Mariam pouted. “Maybe if the Alpha went to bed every night looking at your face, he might actually wake up in a good mood for once. Who knows? he might even fall in love.” Mariam joked.

Mariam was a die-hard romantic who believed that Velkan

Chanda had imagined, so many different scenarios of what might happen when she finally saw Velkan, but she never expected getting just a cold shoulder from him. ‘He didn’t even acknowledge my presence’, she thought as she watched Velkan go down the stairs and disappear into the crowd.“Don’t pay him any attention. You are beautiful”. Leia whispered.“I don’t know what I’m supposed to be doing here.” Chanda returned. “Isn’t this a banquet for just the Alphas from the North Region? Why are there so many people?”“Dear Child, when the Lycan roars, wolves come running.” Leia stated, proudly.“What does that mean?”“Never mind.” Leia grinned. “Come with me.” She led Chanda down the stairs, and to a corner of the hall. “This spot should be good for you. Far from the crowd, right?”“Thank you.” Chanda nodded. “But it seems we are late to our own party.” Chanda looked around them. The banquet was already in full swing. “That is Velkan’s fault,” Leia complained. “He insisted on showing up la

Answer me!” He exploded, sending a stool flying across the room.“Please,” She begged. “Nothing happened. Nothing at all.”“Nothing?” His voice mocked her. “First, you force your way into being my Luna, then you openly flirt with your lover and you say it’s nothing.”“He is not my lover, please.” She cried and held onto the hem of his pants.“So, you are saying you don’t know Alpha Trenton? That you let a stranger put his arm around you?”Lie, I dare you, Velkan thought as he looked down at her.Refusing to believe that Chanda was his mate, Velkan had spent the past few days finding out all he could about C

Chanda placed her hands on her chest as she gazed out from her window in her chamber, admiring the fields and mountains surrounding the Goda pack. It felt just like old times to her, when she would sometimes be tied up and locked in a small dirty room as a form of punishment, for a certain number of days. But now, the room was bigger, cleaner and she was even being tended too. Just that this time around, the punishment seemed to be never ending. Velkan had kept her locked up for about two months.“He is just so hard headed and arrogant.” Leia said with disgust. “Dumb too.”A smile tugged at Chanda’s lips as she turned to Leia. “Thank you.”“For what? It was my son who put you in this room like you were some prisoner and not his Luna.”“For being here with me.”For the whole time that she had been banned from the outside world, Leia had always kept her company, daily. With the occasional visits from Mariam of course, who always had something colorful to say about Velkan.“Oh child.”

It’s really dark. Can’t we light a torch or … what? what? why did you stop?” Chanda said in hushed tones when Mariam halted suddenly at the entrance to the living room.“I thought I heard something.”“We should go back. I don’t need more troubles.”“Live a little, My Luna.” Mariam peeped around the corner, before dragging Chanda across the room to open the front door. “We are free.” She ran round to the back of the house, laughing and shouting.“Why are you screaming? I thought you said to be quiet.” Chanda ran after her.“Keep up, Luna.” Mariam stopped at the back gate of the pack house. “You have got little legs.”“I do not. “Nothing like a good night out in the Goda village to lift your spirits.” Mariam skipped happily while Boris lead them up the road leading to the pack house.“Looks like we might have stayed out too long.” Boris said, looking up to the dull sky. “It’s almost daylight.” “The back gate will be unlocked by now. We could sneak in through there.” Mariam shrugged. “No one will see us there.”“I still don’t understand why the Lycan doesn’t put guards at the back of the estate during late and early times of the day. What if our enemies enter the house from there?” Boris asked.“They couldn’t. He has guards protecting the house itself. No one could pass the wolves guarding the back entrance to the house on the inside.” Mariam explained. “Unless, they are like us and know their way around, uh? She winked at him.“That true...” A grin tugged on his lips, but he frowned immediately, scratching his head. “Why do we need to sneak in though? We are allowed to go out.”Mariam smacked him on the bac

It hurts. Every part of his body hurts. Velkan moaned in pain, as he struggled to lift his heavy body up, so he could sit against the board of the bed. His vision was blurry and his throat was dry and burning. He tried to pry his eye lids open, so he can look around where he laid. What happened? He ran his hand down the left side of his body which was covered, poorly, in bandage and the smell of burning leaves filled the air, choking him. He glanced to his right side and saw a female figure, sleeping on a chair at the far end of the room.“Urgh.” He groaned as he stretched his heavy arm over to his bedside table and knocked a teapot to the ground to get the female’s attention. The woman sprang up immediately. “Lycan, you are awake.” She exclaimed and rushed to him. “You are not supposed to sit up. Your wound is still fresh.”“Who are you?” He croaked out. “Where am I?”“You are in your chambers, My Lycan.” The woman took out a warm cloth that had been soaking in a bowl filled with

"Velkan, you should sit please.” Chanda stuttered, trying to appease to him. “You must be in pain.”“Shut it!” Velkan snapped. “Just shut it.” He moved closer. “You think you are smart?”“What is wrong?” Chanda moved a step back.“Think you can fool me?” He reached out and grabbed her neck, lifting her an inch above the ground.Chanda held on to his wrapped hands on her neck. “Please Velkan. I… I… I can’t … can’t breathe.”Velkan stared into her bulging eyes for a moment before letting go. Chanda’s dress got caught on the top of a candle stand on the floor and ripped into two parts up to her waist, exposing her legs as she fell to the ground.Rex, his wolf purred wistfully and it annoyed Velkan. Everyone is looking at you.”The little crowd had increased as more people came around to look at the disgraced Luna. Chanda could hear the murmurs coming from them, but she didn’t really care right now. What had happened in that room? Chanda wondered as she lay on the sand, supported by Mariam hands, almost naked with her torn dress. Her mind had not really registered on the fact that Velkan just sent her to live as a servant, because she was still stuck on what had happened between them. She remembered she had felt when he had touched her, sucked her. She had never that way before, it had been as if her body had floating away. But the strangest part was that she had wanted it. Normally the old Chanda would have tried to reason with her, but Serafina just didn’t give a damn.“Listen to me, Lady.” Chanda mimicked her. “Do you think I willingly want to stay anywhere close to you? We are both in a pickle as it is.”“How dare you speak to me in such a manner?” Lupe looked insulted. “I am going to report you to the Lycan for this disrespect.”“Do as you wish. But first, move aside.”“I said no.” Lupe smacked Chanda right across the face and threw her bag to the ground.“Why you old witch! Chanda gasped. “The Oro blade really exists?”The Oro blade was the sword used by the Klana leader. The sword was rumored to have made by the guardians of the underworld and that the Klana leader had his soul entwined with the sword. “I guess those stories about us were very detailed.” Snow smiled. “Yes, the Oro blade exists. When my father was killed, the sword was stolen from him.”“But if the myth is true?” Chanda said. “Anyone who touches it becomes possessed with some evil spirits. How could Velkan’s father had easily taken it and not be affected?”Snow reached into his pocket and brought out a small green crystal. He held it up in the light and it glowed brightly. “This is the stone that gives the magic power to my father’s sword.”“Wow.” Chanda mumbled, enchanted by the beautiful glowing crystal. “Its magnificent.” She instinctively raised her to touch it but Snow slapped her hand away, bringing her back to her senses. “Sorry.” She murmured.“I can see the stone still has the

“He wants you to become a maid?” Mariam almost screamed at Chanda when she told her of Velkan’s punishment. “Are you sure you heard him correctly?”“I’m not deaf, Mariam.” Chanda playfully threw a garment at her face and continued packing up her things. “But I do think it is strange.”“Of course, it is strange. There are a lot of maids in the pack, why would he want you as his personal maid?”“Maybe he wants to keep a close eye on me or maybe he just wants to humiliate me, I don’t know.” Chanda shrugged. Velkan’s decision was definitely unexpected, especially after Snow claimed he had earlier decided to not punish her at all. But she would gladly take being a maid over death, anytime and any day.“What are you even doing here at this time of the day?” She asked Mariam. “Are you not supposed to be with your mistress, tending to her every beck and call?” “I was in her room with her and her mother, when they mentioned that you were becoming a maid so I rushed down here to confirm if it

“This is completely outrageous.”Mia was perched on the side of her bed, getting ready to take the bath that her maid, Mariam, was preparing for her while her mother paced around the room, angrily.Mia had always wondered why the woman couldn’t just sit down and complain or at least stand still. Why did she think she had to move around just to pass her point across? Just watching her was causing Mia, a headache.Still, she had to be the reasonable daughter and calm her mother down.“What exactly is outrageous, mother?”“This is not the time to be making jokes, Mia.”“I am not joking, mother. Why are you upset?”“Are you being serious right now? Were you deaf when the Lycan decided to make that thing…” Sera paused when Mariam dropped a bottle of soap on the ground.“Sorry, it slipped.” Mariam muttered, slowly picking the bottle up.“Are you maids ever good for anything? Even in this pack, good maids are hard to find.” Sera snapped at her. “Just a bunch of good for nothings.”“Please,

“I am Snow Klana”That can’t be true, Chanda thought. She didn’t which was more absurd, the fact that Snow claimed to be the son of the Klana’s leader or the fact that the Klana Clan still had existing members. A trap that will come back to bite her if she didn’t thread carefully. But even if it what Snow said were true, is her hatred for Velkan that huge, that she would be willing to side with group of dangerous wolves known to be feral killers. These wolves had made packs extinct due to their attacks. Was she willingly to take the risk of unleashing possible terror to both regions just to get her revenge?“Am I talking to myself here? The tomb was dark and quiet as usual, so Velkan didn’t understand why he thought coming here in the middle of the night would bring him some sort of… solitude.A guard walked up to him at the entrance with a torch.“Lycan.”“Stay here. I will be out soon.” Velkan took the torch from him and stepped inside the tomb. The light of the torch made the tomb bright, so he moved his hands along the walls, tracing the carvings of the names of all the former Lycans that had come before him. His hands stilled when he got to the last one.Odon Goda, it read. Great father, and leader.“He was an okay husband too.”“Mother.” Velkan wasn’t even surprised at her presence. “Are you following me?”“I went to your room and you weren’t there. I checked the cliff, you also weren’t there. So, I figured you will be here.”“Is there a problem, then?”“With me, no. Heavens, stop repeating yourself. It is annoying to listen to.” Snow frowned. “And why are you so shocked when you already planned to do it yourself? You did fail, but it was nice attempt.”“Is this a joke?” Chanda pushed his hands away from her, leaving the needle dangling from her shoulder. “Is this some kind of test or something, uh?
