Dalisay's pov:

I paced around the living room, thinking of the best way to tell my husband about my planned trip that weekend.

Karl had usually let me travel on my regular vacations without any restrictions, but for some reason, this one made me feel a little uneasy. Perhaps because it was a weekend time-out with Adam and it was our first time traveling on a vacation together.

Karl was in the bathroom when I finally worked up the nerve to enter our bedroom. I sighed and took a seat on the bed. He left his phone on the bed, and a few minutes later it rang.

"Honey, your phone is ringing," I said as I sat on the bed. My attention was drawn to the caller identifier. "Papi" was the caller's saved name, complete with heart emoticons. I looked at the phone questioningly and stepped closer, but the ringing stopped.

"Was that my phone?" Karl asked from the restroom.
