Henna still paced around her apartment, reviewing the plans about Sophia’s kidnapping.

“No need to worry, I am sure Jenny would handle things fine,” Henna said to herself.

“I just have to use this burner phone to call Sophia and send her the location,” Henna said to herself.

Unknown to her, Jenny had inserted a tiny, specially made SIM card, untraceable to Jane but configured to send logs of all calls and messages to a separate, secure receiver, into the phone before giving it to Henna.

Jenny told Henna she was to use the burner phone to call Sophia and text her the address to meet up, to keep her identity hidden, but that was a lie.

Jane created this secret loophole through Jenny. It ensured that every piece of incriminating communication and detail related to the kidnapping of Sophia could be traced back solely to Henna.

Ren brought forth a laptop and placed it before Jane as she watched a live feed from a hidden camera in Henna’s apartment.

*SOPHIA’S POV*He held up a hand“Sophia, please… this is not about Henna or the past. This is about the future, about the legacy I built, the legacy I want to see thrive,” he said.“The legacy you built? Or you mean to say the legacy my mom built! The same legacy you almost gambled away, Dad!” I said, my tone rising with each word. He leaned forward, his voice dropping to a low, persuasive tone. “I am really sorry about that, but—but Henna… she—she’s not doing well, Sophia. She’s struggling, and you know how delicate she can be,” he said.“Delicate?” I repeated. “She has always been the manipulative one, Dad. The one who could cry on cue to get what she wanted, and you always indulged her! Every single time!” I growled.“Your mother, your mother always wanted you to have a good life,” he pressed on, ignoring my outburst. “She would have wanted you to find your place. And now… now this company, the very heart of our family, is a source of contention between you two. It’s tearing

*BRAN’S POV*I ran my hand through my hair as I knew that Ken had a point. The anonymity, the deliberate angles of the photos… it did seem a little too convenient. My anger began to cool slightly, and then the ache of regret for my outburst seeped in. I knew that I had acted impulsively and irrationally, and I knew that I had hurt Sophia.“You're right,” I finally conceded, my voice hoarse. “ I messed up……I need to apologize to Liam, and I need to apologize and talk to Sophia. I…… I really don't know what came over me,” I said as I took a deep, shaky breath, trying to regain myself.Just as I had finished that statement and pushed back from my desk, Pierre knocked and came in with another package.“Another package for you, sir… and also anonymous,” Pierre reported and exited the office after placing the envelope on the table. It was identical to the second package; plain, unmarked, anonymous. I looked at Ken, whose eyes were also curious to find out the content of the envelope.Sl

*SOPHIA’S POV*“Bran, this is… this is ridiculous,” I stammered, picking up one of the pictures, my fingers trembling. “This is a misunderstanding…..Liam was just helping me after I stumbled. We were just talking, trying to get my mind off… of things,” I defended.I looked up at him, my eyes pleading for him to understand and for him to see the truth. But Bran’s face remained a mask of hurt. It suddenly felt like the trust he had in me, unshakable just moments ago, felt like it was crumbling.I knew he always had uneasy feelings about Liam.“Off of things?” Bran echoed, his voice laced with sarcasm. “Like what?……what things? What things could you possibly be talking about enough to cozy up to him!?” Bran asked. The words were cruel, a direct hit to my most vulnerable point.I flinched as if struck by the pain of the accusation. My confusion began to spread into a deep, raw hurt, quickly followed by disappointment.“How could you, Bran? How could you accuse me of something like this

SOPHIA’S POV*We finally arrived at the beach, and I suddenly remembered the time that Bran and I visited the beach. The air brushed against my hair, and it lay against my face, a nice distraction from the thoughts swirling in my mind. The waves crashed rhythmically.“Thanks for this, Liam," I said, genuinely grateful. “It's… exactly what I needed,” I said and took in a breath of fresh air.Liam gave off a gentle smile, his gaze sweeping around. “Anytime, Sophia….Just breathe, alright? Let it all go for a bit,” Liam said. I walked along the water's edge, the cool sand beneath my feet, while Liam stood a few steps away and watched me. I found my mind cool over the past days as Liam attempted to skip a particularly flat stone, only for it to sink. He faked disappointment, making me smile.Unknown to us, Ren stood a few yards away from us.“Got them,” he muttered, clicking off a series of rapid shots. I stumbled slightly on a patch of uneven sand, and Liam, reacting immediately, r

*BRAN’S POV*After she was done, she removed the first drive and then inserted the drive from Pierre, doing what she wanted to do. She then shut her laptop and returned the drives.“Did you ask her to help out with the drive?” I suddenly asked Pierre, my eyes filled with all kinds of mixed emotions.“No, sir, other staff and I talked about being swamped with work, and she offered to help with the financial collation,” Pierre answered. It couldn't be, I tried to find every reason to counter this, Sophia wouldn't do such, not to me, and not to help my uncle, for that matter. “Could she still be mad at me for betraying her love six years ago? Could that be a reason why she sided and helped my uncle?” These questions flooded my mind as I continued to find a reason behind all of this.I was done at work, so I didn't bother stopping by at Sophia’s office as I knew she had gone home.I arrived home and stepped into our main house. There she was, lying on the cushion and asleep.I haven't b
