Angela didn't utter a word. She feared he might run them into an accident.
Leo regretted his actions. "I'm sorry for yelling." He said remorsefully.
"I understand," Angela replied, tittering. She feared saying anything that could erupt that fierce part of him again.
A few minutes later, they arrived at Angela's house. Angela suggested he pulled over at their threshold gate, instead of driving her in; so that he could drive back to his house on time. She didn't want him to visit her parents. She feared he might tell on her about Edwin's call.
Leo decided not to wake a sleeping dog. The last thing on his mind was to permit the repetition of what had happened earlier.
He came down from his car and hastened his steps towards the front door. He opened the door for her to step out, giving her a kiss on her forehead and a peck subsequently. Did I forget to mention that he gave her a warm embrace too?
The reek from his perfume was seductive. Any girl would long for a man wearing such perfume.
His kiss was warm. It reminded Angela of her first kiss with Edwin. It was so passionate that she longed to feel him inside of her. Had it been they didn't control how they felt that day, she would have been a mother by now.
"Do take care of yourself; and please drive carefully," Angela uttered.
Leo was relieved on hearing such. At least, she had his well-being at heart.
"I will, my love." He replied, blowing a kiss to her. He opened the car door and zoomed off afterward.
Angela stood outside, trailing his car with her eyes until it was out of sight. She walked towards the gate and gave a gentle pound on it.
The gate was opened by Mr. Akpan instantly, and she walked in.
She went straight to her room. There was no sign of her parents. She only met Miss. Anna, the housekeeper.
Closing the door as she entered her room, she fell loosely into her bed. She stared at the white PVC ceiling, patterned with flowers. She began playing back everything that had happened with Leo, as she smirked.
Immediately, her phone signaled a message received in her inbox. She picked up her phone off the bed, unlocked it; and entered her inbox.
It was Edwin, he had sent the location for their dinner date. She was elated on reading such. She pulled her phone to her chest, smiling to herself. She longed to be wrapped in his arms.
The joy in her heart turned into a pool of bile. Her warm smile turned into a cold frown. Tears gushed down her cheeks. She couldn't imagine leaving Edwin. The thought of how he would take it when she finally break the news to him, tormented her.
A few minutes later, she felt relieved. Her eyelids were puffy, she had cried her eyes out.
Seeing that she had more time left before her dinner date, she decided to take a nap. She took off her shoes and laid properly in the bed. Covered herself with her bleached duvet, and dozed off.
Waking up three hours later, she realized that she had an hour to prepare for her dinner date.
She ran into the bathroom at once, the pitter_patter of the rushing shower was heard, as she took her bath.
A few minutes later, she came out of the bathroom with her white cotton towel wrapped around her chest.
Her hair dripped warm water from the shower. She danced and sang as she brought out her outfit for the night.
She imagined dancing a ballroom dance with Edwin. She moved from one corner to another, with her eyes closed, her hands hung in the air; as she imagined Edwin holding them. Suddenly, her towel fell off to the ground leaving her bare.
She bent to pick it up immediately. Wrapping it again all over herself quickly, her eyes searched aimlessly to make sure no one had seen her, even when she knew she was all alone in the room; and her door locked.
She needed to look as sexy as possible. She was about to meet the love of her life.
She donned her black sleeveless mini gown, that clung to her body. Revealing all her natural endowments.
She wore her black heels, diamond necklace; and earrings.
Her hair was styled in long layers, enhancing her natural texture, and giving her hair a fuller look. She applied some makeup too and dark lipstick.
She was fire, any man can do anything just to have the sexy figure posing seductively in the mirror.
It meant more than just a dinner date to her. She was ready to have a taste of him inside of her. Knowing that it might be the last time she will be opportune to be with the one man that meant the whole world to her.
She wore the perfume he had bought for her. Of which the fragrance always made him to be red with desire. It was customized just for her. The reek from it reminded him of no one but her.
Angela was ready to create that permanent memory with Edwin. No one deserves to have a taste of her for the first time, than the man of her dreams. She took her diamond-designed purse and cat walked downstairs.
The driver Edwin had sent just arrived, Angela could hear his horn.
She walked straight to the kitchen and informed Miss. Anna, who was preparing dinner, that she was visiting Margret, her childhood friend.
She was her partner in crime. Angela knew that she had her back if her parents should by any way call for confirmation.
She entered the car, and the driver sped off instantly.
The driver drove her to a five-star hotel. She wondered where Edwin had gotten the money to take her to a five-star hotel for dinner.
She smiled, at the sight of Edwin.
The last time she had seen him was at their induction ceremony. He didn't change a bit. He was still the same beautiful guy she had known him to be.
He was tall, slim, and dark-skinned. His facial features, including his dimple cheeks, pointed nose; and almond eyes, described him as a black beauty.
He smiled, as he swagged towards her. Her heart jolted, she could hear the sound of her heartbeat.
He landed a warm kiss on her lips and handed her the red bouquet in his grip.
"You look beautiful." He commented with a smile.
"Thanks," she replied, returning the smile.
The duo walked hand in hand together into the hotel. "I have missed having you by my side," He whispered to her ears, concluding it with a peck.
Angela blushed as she replied; "same here."
Edwin had booked a room for both of them. The room was spacious. There was a round table with two seats facing in opposite directions. The bed had red flowers carved in the 'i love you' pattern.
'It seemed like he had the same intension as me for our dinner date.' Angela thought to herself as she strolled around the room admiring its interior decorations.
Dr. Rey was on his phone when Edwin walked in. He ended the call at the sight of him."Good day, sir." Edwin greeted."What's this that I'm hearing, that you of all persons had to fight in a hospital?"Edwin was quiet, he didn't utter any word."Just tell me it's not true." Dr. Rey added."I'm sorry, sir but it's true.""How could you? Weren't you aware that you're a doctor and in a hospital for that matter?" He gave a disappointed gaze at him."I'm very sorry, sir. I know there's no excuse for my actions earlier but please find a place in your heart to forgive me.""It's not all about me; how do you expect your subordinates to look at you? You just lost the honor they all have for you.""I'm so sorry, sir." Edwin whispered."I'm sorry, but you have to face the aftermath of your actions. I would have fired you if I didn't know you to be a good man; you are hereby withdrawn from office for a month. You know what that infers. No one month salary for you."Edwin lowered his eyes in compl
Getting outside the establishment, they were rooted there as Leo lurched out of his car to meet them."I can see you got some nerves, huh?" He said."Well, you just said so." Edwin replied."Now, to think that you can threaten her just for a lunch date makes you more of a coward than you really are." He added.Leo pulled the sun glasses he had worn; his eyes radiated fury. He was gulled down already. "I can see you have guts; but let me remind you that she's mine and mine alone! You can never end up with her, the moment you learn to live with it the better for you!" He vibrated."Enough of all these tantrums, leo!" Angela declared." I'm sick and tired of all your excesses; why can't you just let us be!" She cried out." No my dear, you're are making a very big mistake here! If there's anyone that you should be with, that person should be me!" He turned to Edwin as he continued." Edwin here has nothing to offer you; he has barely taken care of himself let alone you!" He disparaged."
And where are you coming from?" He thundered."I.., I..," she stammered."Yes? Speak up; you what?"Mr. Akpan, seeing how nervous she was, decided to make ends meet. "Oga no vex, she go down the supermarket go buy something." He interrupted in vernacular English."Since when did you become her spokesperson? Allow her to explain herself." "Sorry, sir." Turning to Angela he signaled her to speak out."I'm sorry, Dad. I went down to the supermarket to get some cookies and pastries." She regained her voice."Why was it so hard for you to admit it, then? ""I'm sorry about that, Dad; I didn't mean to leave the house without informing you or Mum.""It's alright, Leo just called me; he told me you weren't answering his calls and I came to find out why."Her countenance dimmed immediately, "I don't want to speak to him, Dad." She mumbled"Exactly why I'm here to find out why."Abruptly, his phone rang, cutting the conversation short."You can go inside, but just know we have an unfinished co
Her dad, noticing how restless she was, asked; "hope everything is alright with you?"A flash of current ran through her system on hearing such a question from him. "Me? Yeah.., sure… everything is alright." She managed to speak as if she was trying to swallow down a still-racing heart."Then, why are you not eating? You have been on your phone for five minutes now." She grinned; "I will eat, now. " She gulped down her cup of tea immediately to everyone's surprise. Dabbing her mouth with the serviette, she cleaned the crumbs of bread on the table and said 'thank you, dad and mum' before heading to her room. They were both left aloft; that was unlike her. She was always the last to leave the dining table after any meal. She has been a slow eater since childhood. They stared at her while she climbed the stairs to her room. They had even forgotten to close their mouths."Horny, what's wrong with her?" Mr. Kenneth asked. "I'm dumbfounded as you are; it's really unfathomable." She repli
Her eyes widened; she tried screaming, but the heavy pound from her forehead didn't give her the leverage to do so; "oh no!" She exclaimed."What's the matter with you?" Miss. Anna asked."I was so intoxicated last night that I didn't know when Edwin called." She complained.A flash of current ran through Miss. Anna's system; she couldn't fathom what she just heard. Her eyes sparkled as she shouted."What? You came back home drunk last night!""Shhh.., please bring your voice down; dad or mum could hear you.""What do you mean, why did you get yourself drunk last night?" She whispered. "Shit! I shouldn't have said that." She mumbled."Not that I was very drunk. Leo and I just had a drink last night, and I came back a little tipsy." She explained."You should have drank responsibly; what if your parents had seen you when you came back? You would have been in trouble by now." Miss. Anna scolded."I wished they did; at least, they would have banned me from going out with that jerk, Leo.
"What do you mean?" She managed to ask. "Nevermind; forget it." He uttered as he started the engine, and drove to his house, he wanted to replace the shirt Angela had messed up. Getting to the gate, he honked for the gateman to open up. The gateman shuffled to the gate to get it opened. He was in his dark-red on black uniform, with his black boots and barrett that was tilted to the side. He was charcoal in complexion, with two tribal marks on his both cheeks; his pot belly made him robust and closer to the ground even when he was just average heightened. Though he was from Niger, he could speak Yoruba fluently owing to the fact that he had stayed in Lagos for close to ten years. As Leo drove in, he parked his car before his duplex as he stepped down. "Ka a ale, sir; kaabo! Good evening, sir; welcome!" the gateman bowed. "Ka a ale; Bawo ni o ṣe n ṣe? Good evening, how are you doing?" He replied moving to the other side of the car where Angela was seated. " Mo dupe lowo Olorun,
