Cirilla's point of viewFirmly, I adjusted the black boxing bag gloves around my wrists. I get my stance right by standing with my feet shoulder-width apart and my front foot facing the punching bag. I do not hesitate in unloading my punches, making sure I throw powerful and snappy punches at the punching bag. I plant my feet firmly when throwing the punches and when I'm not throwing punches I move around on my toes. My breathing labored. I've been at this for probably an hour or maybe more. I can't exactly tell. Suddenly, I'm getting bored with the exercise. It would have been a little more fun if I was sparring against an opponent. Now that would be entertaining.I absconded the boxing bag gloves. My long and thick black lashes pressed firmly together and the gate of my eyes shut closed. I inhaled deeply and calmly. And as usual, my subconscious formed a well-built and sturdy figure. It looked virile and manly. He wore black leather pants and a black tacky jacket that looked like one forged from the heat of battle in medieval times. His face was covered with a silver mask. But the color of his eyes was dark and dangerous. The conviction in his eyes was as firm as always. To kill.I smirked to myself. My electric blue eyes hardened and so was my conviction to protect myself as always. He balled his hands into fists and pulled them up in a fighting stance. Eagerly I lunged at him, striking him. He blocked and sent a swing at me, which I was swift to avoid. I kept my eyes closed to avoid breaking off my connection and losing this imaginary character my mind always created to escape my very own hell of a life.Everything was going well. I was still standing strong even after countless minutes of heated combat. Abruptly, I felt a mighty force of wind that forced me to pull from my subconscious. My eyes flung wide open. I scanned the slightly huge gym I worked at after school hours. The doors were shut, and so were all windows and anything that could pull in the cold air from outside."Hello!" I called out to the faintly dark silence of the gym. "Is someone there?" It couldn't be Jim, the gym instructor who usually camps in the gym throughout the night. He wasn't even in town, so I decided to have the gym all to myself. Believe me, it was damn better than spending the night home with the chances of being deafened by the loud moans from sensual sex and repeated banging on the bed. Sometimes I feel the little exercise even gets done on the wall of the room next to mine in a hellhole called 'a home'. What an irony. Home is usually a teen's haven, a personal space where you belong and feel loved. But mine was a constant hell that I was willing to take whatever bus I could find to escape.I didn't get a response. With a cautious last scan of my surroundings, I resolved to return to my training when I heard the unmistakably loud thud of the door, which I'm well damned sure I locked when I got here after escaping from home.I was alarmed, but not terrified. I had a lot of scary shit going on in my life to be terrified of a little invasion. I picked up a long metal stick. Whatever or whoever the unlucky bastard was trying to break in picked an awful night for that.I headed to the entrance door, and as expected it was opened. I checked around but there was no one. My eyes caught something strange on the door. It was some kind of a scratch. I trailed it with my fingers. It seemed like a work of anything but art done with the nails. But that was an impossible theory. Each scratch mark was a few inches apart from the other. It couldn't be a human, probably some wild cat that lost its way or something.I dropped the metal stick, taking a step outside into the cold unwelcoming night. I scanned the surroundings, into the deep woods miles away from the gym. But there was nothing out there. The Moon was up in its abode as usual and smiled up at it. In my seventeen years of existence, that shimmering work of nature up there has always been something that intrigued me.I felt the biting cold already feasting on my poor skin since I had only a light long-sleeved round shirt on. I was about to head back in when I felt the rustling of trees around. Now that was creepy. Hastily, I marched for the door. Before I could grab the doorknob, I felt myself being lifted roughly and dragged away into the woods in a speeding motion. I didn't know by who or what as the hold around my waist was sharp and piercing. It was dark and the more I was carried deeper into the woods, the Moon's protective ray on me slowly disappeared due to the canopy of trees that shielded the woods.Fuck! I was already in the woods, with my head upside down. I wriggled free from whatever hold that held me, crashing against the slightly wet earth and dirt. I was on my feet quickly, running in the direction I was pulled from, hoping to get back to the gym.Something didn't feel right. Especially not with the loud animalistic, and unseen noises that kept hounding me. My boots kept diving deeper into the moist earth, leaving a trail. And the emotionless crisp air was against me as well. I was forced to halt in my tracks when I was blocked by someone or something. It was awfully dark, and I couldn't see a thing aside from the blinding red eyes that bored down at me from where I stood. I visibly gulped as an army of several emotions I couldn't make outran down my spine and every vein in my body. I felt the heat of breath fanning my face. It wasn't human. An animal of some kind. Its gaze held a dark and crystal-clear conviction to attack. My survival instinct that had always been birthed within me kicked in, and I had to save myself. For just today, I chose flight rather than my usual theme for fight. It was sheer lunacy to fight that which wasn't human.I dashed in the opposite direction. I could hear the aggressive drumming of my traitorous and frightened heart in my ears. Before I knew it I was thrown back off guard. I winced. Pulling my back off the muddy surface of the earth. I was surrounded by three of the wild beasts. They had murderous red eyes as they bore down at me.I scrutinized my surroundings and grabbed a wood stick lying idly on the wet surface of the earth. Instinctively, I swung at one of the creatures, and from the other side, I was attacked by another creature. I felt a sharp pain in the side of my stomach. It wasn't deep, but it hurt like hell. From another angle I was hit, the impact was strong as it swept me off my feet and I landed harshly against the trunk of a giant tree.Cold crimson fluid flowed from my head, I was bleeding. I tried to move as the three creatures moved closer to me, seeming pleased with themselves. My vision went hazy, and my body slowly went numb. They were already at me when from utterly nowhere one of the creatures was thrown away. Immediately, a small fire broke around, circling me as if protecting me from my attackers. I heard a piercing sound and a dying groan. It alarmed the other two creatures. Whoever came to my rescue lunged at them. Everything moved so fast, and soon the creatures were killed. From the corner of my vision, I saw someone racing to my side. The figure was that of a man. It was a man. My heart nearly stopped as he approached me. His body blazed in a streak of yellow and orange flame. It seemed like it didn't hurt him... almost as if he was extremely comfortable... fucking hell he was.He wasn't human either. My vision almost gave up when he reached for me. His arms captured me and I felt a warm feeling in them. His eyes were…. were…. something... something between flaming yellow and shady green. It was terrifying, yet comforting. This had to be a dream. I drifted into darkness.Asher's Point Of View My heart was pounding in my chest and I took deep breaths to calm it down.“Nervous?” Theo chuckled, placing a hand on my shoulder as we stared down the beautifully decorated aisle where Cirilla would be coming through any minute from now.“Nope,” I lied, my heart in complete chaos as I tried to steady my breathing. “Sure he is,” Wren voiced coldly, “He's a second from losing his shit,”I fought the urge to glare at him. “Get out of my head, demon,” My eyes remained fixed on the blank evening air. “Relax man! Just take a deep breath otherwise at the rate you'll end up having a heart attack the second you see her,” Stefan whispered from my left, and I couldn't tell if that was a warning or a piece of advice.“Enough, all of you. You're being too loud,” I refrained from shouting, keeping my voice low instead, and wondering why I chose all three of them to be my groomsmen. I should have gone with Daryl, Andy, and Cory instead.‘They are right though. Tune it down
Cameron's Point Of View Hastily, I flipped through the papers, going through them, and as soon as I was satisfied, I scribbled my signature at the bottom of the document, sealing a multibillion deal.I gently placed my fountain pen on the table, glancing up to see Trevor's face beaming with so much elation. “Happy now?” I smirked, getting off from my seat, and pinning together the suit jacket of my tux. “Hurry up and don't be late,” I told the smiling vampire, before strutting out of my office at Castle Corps. Today I had no choice but to step into town and close a deal we've been working on for several months now.I chuckled, as a smile stalked my lips. I couldn't just stop smiling. Today was a good day. The very best. I reached the elevator doors and pressed a button. As soon as it opened, I stepped through the door, at the same time, snapping my fingers, and instantly teleported myself to one of my penthouse suites in Louisiana.I glanced around the large suite and instantly my e
Asher's Point Of View“Just a little sec,” Louis yelled over the loud music playing in the bar as he kept shaking the bottle of wine. In one swift move, he flicked the top open and there was a loud popping sound followed by the dramatic mess of the alcohol pouring around.“Woah,” I heard Eric scream from a corner with a random female on his lap, while he kept chugging down one of the concoctions Louis had mixed the second the party started, and without mincing words, they were all clearly drunk.I groaned in frustration, bringing my fingers to block both of my ears as Amy, Shirley, Enzo, and Dorian were murdering Ava by Famy at a far corner which I clearly remembered wasn't even sung that way.I pulled my beer to my lips, taking a sip. I looked around from the dancing crowd and saw Julia and Wren sitting, also looking completely bored while Kayla and Carl were making out in the backseat booth of the bar, and Malia, Daryl, and Theo were unaccounted for.And here I was seated at one of
Cameron's Point Of ViewI knew it.There was nothing left inside of me. I was nothing more than an empty shell. I felt absolutely nothing but a pain in my heart. A darkness that loomed over every inch of my mind. Just patiently waiting until it finally took over every piece of me.It wouldn't be that bad to shut it all out. To rid myself of this pain that had filled the cavity in my soul, but one glance at Theo and my mate, reminded me I wasn't the only one suffering through it. They needed me. And I needed them. But I couldn't deny it. I also felt a little fear in the smallest crevice of my heart. We would never be okay. There was no way we would ever survive this loss.It was worse than knowing she was somewhere out there but we couldn't find her.Eighteen long years of never giving up. Of searching relentlessly for our little princess, and in the end she ended up in a coffin. It was the most distraught sight for a parent. It was never supposed to be like this. A parent should never
Cirilla's Point Of View For a second I felt a surge of excruciating pain starting from my chest right where the pointed edge of the phoenix blade pierced me, spreading through my bones, and it was as though my whole soul was being sucked into a funnel. But just when I thought the pain was about to get worse, darkness covered my vision, dominating the light around me. And I felt absolutely nothing. That was when I knew it without a doubt. I was dead.At the speed of light, everything that happened within the last minutes of my life flashed before my eyes and the last image of Asher's teary and broken gaze filled with so much pain and sadness tore me completely apart and without realizing, tears pooled out of my eyes. The hurt in his eyes was heartbreaking.I sobbed silently, and abruptly, the darkness that surrounded me began to fade into a blinding light that I had to shut my eyes.By the time I pulled my eyes open, I found myself in the middle of the worst scene of my life, or rathe
Asher’s Point Of View No!A growl resonated within my chest as Mason's words filled my mind. I just knew he was lying. He had to be. There was no way Cirilla's death had to be the end of him. That couldn't be possible. The moon goddess couldn't be so cruel.I did everything to break out from whatever effect Mason's magic had on me, keeping me frozen. But I couldn't. I could barely feel Ryker anymore and even Azalea's strength had weakened greatly from the fucking veil in the sky, blocking out our powers.I could neither connect with Cirilla through our mate bond. Instead, I was forced to watch the broken state she was in and witness her pain I couldn't stop the tears that filled my eyes as her blue eyes moved around and finally fell on mine.“Don't do this,” I begged. Mason was a lying bastard. There must be another way.But the look in her eyes was final. She had made up her mind.No Cirilla! The words echoed in my head but I couldn't get them out. Suddenly her eyes glowed brightly
Cirilla's Point Of View Growling, Nina charged to the surface, and using my magic I dug my claws into the ground creating a magical force of explosion that flung them around, giving those around some time before they would get to them.I glanced over my shoulder at Shirley. She was already in her wolf form and Kayla next to me panicked as these beasts were already bridging the distance between us.Shirley had lunged instantly at one when I heard her panicking cry from over my shoulder.I turned to her just in time to stop one of those things from clawing at her.“My magic!” She screamed, “Something's wrong! I can't use my magic. It's weakening,” “What?”“The boundary spells must be down. It's a veil, it's blocking out our magic, and every source of our powers, but I don't understand why it isn't affecting you,” Kayla rushed in fear.“Back to the mansion!” I yelled, releasing volts of magic at them but they seemed completely unaffected.Shirley and Kayla started for the route leading
Davina's Point Of ViewWe had almost all the ingredients we needed for the spell, including Sheila's blood. I don't know how Asula got it, but Sheila had no idea of what we were about to do. Asula had sent Rowena to retrieve the last piece of ingredients, and she was escorted by Kane and a few of his warriors. We had left the cottage and now followed the familiar trail to the ancient magic cave. Once we entered, she turned to the stone table in the middle, unloading the required ingredients from her basket on the table.“We must begin at once and be done quickly,” She said, scrolling through the Grimoire.“And the last piece of ingredients Rowena has gone to fetch?”“Oh don't worry about her. We have all we need here. I just sent her on a little adventure with Kane. I don't want her here for the spell,”Her words surprised me but I also didn't want her here for the spell, especially with the phoenix stone out in the open.“You have to be careful of the witch. I can't believe someone i
Davina's Point Of ViewWe spent the rest of the night going around the forest. At first, each trail either led us to a dead end or took us through another circle. And Rowena's constant mumbling was a crown on the insane frustration I felt. It took me every bit of self-control not to plunge the dagger in my boots into her chest and I kept reminding myself that I needed her just as much as she needed me to get out of there. Alive. So in the meantime, we were all we had. After hours of going around in circles in the forest, we finally found our way out, bursting out in the middle of a long narrow path, and up ahead seemed like a village. We moved hastily in the darkness, and using the single torch on a stick we managed to light up to see in the darkness. We trekked up the hills and burst into the village. I stopped in my tracks, and as expected there was no single soul in sight. But something else felt wrong. The place felt deserted.“Something doesn't feel right,” Suddenly, I felt a lit
