I stood near the edge of the dance floor, hands clasped, heart hammering not from excitement but from nerves.

I had come to the dinner party alone and was planning on avoiding Dravon throughout the event.

Why?

Firstly, I didn't have an answer for him yet. I still haven't made up my mind on whether to accept his marriage proposal or turn it down.

While his idea was nice, I still had doubts planted by Anita this afternoon.

I lied when I said I wouldn't overthink what Anita said, I spent my entire training ruminating on her words and the cautious part of me wanted me to back down on the offer.

The calculative side of me was already trying to search for a way to accept the offer without losing anything in the end. The idea of drawing out a contract was beginning to emanate.

Then there's the optimistic side, edging me to trust Dravon and agree to the proposal.

My entire emotions were a mess.

The second reason for avoiding Dravon at this event was because Anita was still his fiancee.
