The last sentence sent shivers down her spine, but after rethinking the whole thing, she bursted into laughter, and strangely, Wendy joined her in laughing.

“It’s so funny how you guys think I’m so naive to believe this tale.” She said, after laughing.

“Yeah, it is.” Wendy smiled.

Rebecca’s brows creased. “If all this is true, which isn’t, why are you telling me about it? Do you think I’ll want to stay with Eric after hearing all these?” She questioned.

If it was indeed true, then she thought it was meant to be kept a secret. Why were they telling her?

“Because there’s no use lying. After what happened last night, we have no reason to continue the act cause you discovered I have a connection with Eric.” Wendy replied.

“I still don’t believe you.” Rebecca said.

“If I was in your shoes, I wouldn’t either. Imagine waking up one morning and being told your loving dad who looked like he couldn’t kill a fly was a mafia boss, how unbelievable.” Wendy stated, chuckling.

“Are you sure this is going to work?” The guard asked after hearing Kira’s idea.“Trust me, it will. All my plans do work out, and that’s why Axel won’t let me go.” Kira stated proudly with a charming smile on her face.“Whatever.” The guard mumbled. Kira chuckled, she opened her mouth to say a word, but stopped when she saw a black Mercedes Benz approaching.“Don’t tell me that’s Eric’s car?” The guard turned and when he saw the car, he turned back to Kira. “Yes, it is. He drove out some time ago.”“I gotta go… Don’t wanna take any chances.” Kira climbed the motorcycle, and within the blink of an eye, she sped off. When Eric drove to the gate, he stopped and unwinded the window glass.“Who was that?” He asked from the car.“She came for delivery.” The guard replied, getting ready to open the gate.“Delivery of what?” Eric asked with furrowed brows.“Flowers. Whitney ordered flowers for Rebecca.” He replied.“Oh.” Eric mouthed before closing the window and ignited the car engine

As she cried, she saw Eric chuckling, he wasn’t even moved by her tears and it hurt her deeply. It felt like her heart was on fire, she couldn’t breath properly. She used to think he was a nice person, she thought he loved her, she thought he cared. Tears washed the blood from her nose to her lips and when she tasted something salty, she wiped her face with the back of her palm. Her fear increased when Eric got closer and took off his shirt. She looked at Wendy who stood unshaken, not bothering to at least give them privacy. Her gaze moved from Wendy to Eric and she cast him a pleading stare as soon as her eyes came in contact with his.“Please don’t.” Her teary voice muttered. Eric scoffed as he took off his belt. “We’ve done this several times, why are you acting like a virgin who is afraid to have her first sex?” He said, accompanied with an eye roll.“Maybe because back then I look at you with eyes filled with love, but now all I see…” She paused, her gaze getting darke

She held the cloth and jumped to the other side. From there, she began climbing down with the help of the rope. Her heart was beating so fast, and at a point she felt the rope was about to cut, so she slowed down. She said a silent prayer and continued climbing down. When she got closer to the floor, she jumped down without the rope and a big sigh of relief escaped her lips. She looked around the big compound, thinking of where to follow in order not to get caught. She looked at the left side, it was quicker to get to the gate but the kitchen was around those side and Wendy might see her from the window, so decided to take the other side. She was extra careful enough not to get seen by anyone. Upon getting to the gate, she saw the security making a call, standing in front of the exit. Her steps halted and she could feel her heart beating so fast than normal.*What if he’s part of Eric’s crew and is aware of everything?* She had this thought going through her mind. The gat

For a moment, she was dumbstruck, she kept staring at the phone till it stopped ringing, and immediately, it started ringing again.“She’s with her phone?” It was surprising. She picked the call and didn’t speak first, she wanted to confirm who was on the line.“Hello?” A female voice was heard, but she could swear it wasn’t Rebecca’s voice.“Hello.” She muttered back. “Who’s this?” She asked afterwards, a way of letting the caller know she knew it wasn’t Rebecca.“This is Rebecca’s friend… She left home since last night and she’s yet to return… I checked her phone and found lots of missed calls from you, so I was wondering if you know where she is. I’m worried about her, her husband is also worried.” The voice spoke up. Kira scoffed quietly, ‘What a dumb trick’ “No, I…” She paused when she thought of something. If Rebecca’s phone was with someone else, that means the person might have gone through her chats with her and Axel, except Rebecca was smart enough to clear the ch

Wendy kept pacing to and fro in the big bedroom. She had gone through Rebecca’s phone and she couldn’t find anything that could be of help. She read all the texts messages there and there was nothing special, just texts from the hospital asking why she had been absent. She had called the number that called Rebecca last and it still didn’t lead to anything, she was frustrated.“Fuck it! Eric is going to kill me.” She muttered, dipping her hand in hair. Earlier, she had returned with the lasagna specially made for Rebecca, only to meet the room empty. She saw the shattered window and the makeshift rope, and it was then realization dawned on her. She had tried running outside, but there was no sight of Rebecca. She was doomed. Eric was yet to know about it, he was still downstairs busy with what he was doing. If Eric didn’t kill her after finding out, then she was sure his dad would do. He was the mastermind behind the plan, and he was desperate for the properties, more t

“If I were in your shoes, Becca…” He took a brief pause. She noticed he was trying to refrain himself, and she couldn’t help but wonder why. “I would dive into the real world, and take what rightfully belongs to me. And for those who have hurt me, I’ll make them beg for death. But…” Her eyes lit in curiosity, but again, he took a brief pause. ‘fucking talk if you want to’ She suppressed the urge to scream those words at him “You won’t do any of that.” His tone was firm, turning to her direction. Her eyes bored into his in curiosity. “Why?” The words left her mouth in a whisper. He turned away from her, “The world is a dangerous one, Becca. It’s for the strong.” She scoffed, finding offense in his last words. “Are you indirectly saying I’m weak? Why do you…” “Not indirectly.” He cuts her off. “You are indeed weak.” That being said, he stood up and walked back into the bedroom. Rebecca followed suit. “I am not weak!” She snapped behind him and his steps halted.

Axel moved his hand away from her hair. He had a confused look on his face. Ever since she returned from the mission, he could tell something was off about her, but he just didn’t know what it was. And suddenly asking for time alone proved his suspicions right.“You aren’t okay being here?” Rebecca shook her head. “Not that. I just need some time alone to reflect on myself.” “You don’t have time Rebecca, you need to get your father’s properties as fast as you can, hence you’ll lose it forever.” He warned, his eyes narrowing.“How?” She questioned curiously.“You don’t need to know about that. You just have to…”“That’s the problem, Axel.” She cuts in. “It’s frustrating how you keep leaving me in the dark and still want me to cooperate. If you’re really helping me, then I don’t think you should hide stuff like this from me. At this point, I think you are more concerned about yourself and whatever you are doing now is only going to benefit you and…” she stopped to catch her breat

  • CLAIMED BY THE DEVIL   She’s acting strange

She wanted to have a private talk with Fernando, something Axel and Kira wouldn’t know about. Besides, she wasn’t in the mood to continue with the mission, she would do what she came here for initially. She picked the smashed buds from the floor and went to flush it in the toilet to avoid suspicions. When she was done, she washed her face with water and took a breath. As she returned to the study room, Fernando had his gaze on her.“You promised you weren’t going to cry.” He said, upon noticing the water on her face.“I didn’t.” She replied calmly. “About what you were saying, do you have any idea on who wanted him dead, and why?” Those were the questions bothering her. If it really wasn’t an accident then they had to be a reason for it. Fernando cleared his throat and the two men at the door left the room immediately, leaving only her with him. He shifted closer to the edge of the couch and placed his hands on his laps. “What I’m about to tell you will come as a shock

When she got to where the men were, they pointed guns at her. “Who are you?” They asked in unison.“I am Rebecca Lu…”“Don’t.” She heard Kira’s voice from the bus. “Don’t say your surname.”“I am Rebecca.”One of the men scoffed. “Who cares about your fucking name?”“But you asked who I was and…”“Your identity!” He said firmly. “Is the boss expecting you?” “No, I…” Their grips on their gun tightened. “Then what are you doing here?”“Can you please call him and let him know Rebecca is here? Please.” To her surprise, they didn’t bulge. She watched as the guy touched the bud in his ear and spoke to whoever was at the other end.“Rebecca who?” She kept quiet, waiting for Kira to tell her what to say, since she stopped her earlier from saying her surname.“The daughter of his late friend, Michael.” She repeated what Kira told her. She noticed how the men observed her as she said that, and she couldn’t help but wonder why. The men exchanged looks after one of them whi

Immediately Rebecca heard that, she pushed Kira’s hands off her shoulders and moved back. Her brows furrowed, forming wrinkles and from the look on her face, one could tell she was displeased by what she just heard.“You planned this with Axel, right?” She accused.“No. Axel doesn’t know about this, he doesn’t even care about the pregnancy…”“Then why do you care? Why do you want me to get rid of it?” She fired. Kira hit her forehead in frustration. “Here we go. This is why I never wanted to agree to help you.”“So getting rid of my baby is your definition of help?” She scoffed. “Make it make sense.”“Yes. The child belongs to Eric, and nothing can be hidden under the sun. He’s definitely going to find out one day, and that’s like an advantage to him cause with the child he has high possibilities of taking over your father’s properties.” Kira explained detailedly. Rebecca wasn’t still convinced, not for a bit. “Who is going to tell him? You? Axel? Aside both of you no one else

Rebecca stood there in silence, contemplating on what to do. From Axel’s recent behavior, she began doubting if he really wanted to help her, or he needed her to accomplish his goals, because everything was always about him. But then, she didn’t have anywhere else to go, or who to help her. A thought suddenly crossed her mind. Fernando! He was a very good friend of her dad, and she was sure he would help her if she came clean to him. But then, how would she locate him? She turned, scanning the environment with her eyes, and her gaze landed on Axel who was at the shooting range alone. Taking a deep breath, she approached him just when he was about to shoot.“Hey.” She cooed. He spared her a stare before focusing on what he was doing.“I’m sorry about earlier. I just…” she inhaled deeply. “I just didn’t know what to do. Fernando was so nice to me and dad and hearing about him after a long time might have sparked my reaction.” He didn’t reply her. She was taken aback by his request. Steal? She had never stolen anything and Axel knew that. But what could the thing be and why didn’t Axel send someone else? Many thoughts filled her mind as she waited for him to explain further. She wrapped her hands around her breasts, not because she was shy, but because she suddenly felt cold. She clenched her thighs tightly, trying so hard to surpress the urge to grab Axel and make him do the dirtiest stuff she had in mind. Axel didn’t speak, there was a deafening silence between them and she knew he wouldn’t say anything if she refused to speak first.“Steal what?” He moved closer to her. “I’ll tell you full details later, but for now….” He grabbed her neck roughly and a light gasped escaped her lips. “Let’s make you cum.” With his hand still on her neck, he pushed her to the wall and her back hit the wall roughly.“Shouldn’t we go to a room.” She asked beneath her breath. She was already feeling the tension.“Why would

He seemed to be feared and respected and despite being his daughter, she felt she didn’t know him well. The only side she knew was his jovial side, and his caring side. If only death didn’t take him from her. Her lips pressed as she recalled the day of the accident and she wished she died alongside her parents because life was too harsh on her. After one last glance at the men, she walked away. She was able to locate the swimming pool after wandering about the big compound. Rebecca stepped out of the bathroom, her body dripping wet of water. Instead of wrapping her body with the towel, she wrapped her head with the only towel available. She was surprised to see Kira in the room, seated on the bed with a black dress and sandal beside her. The room was specially assigned to her by Axel to stay for the meantime. It was spacious and simple, just as she liked it. They weren’t irrelevant decors, just the lamp nn the bedside table and a small book shelf which was filled with books, then other necessary stuff. She liked reading and was sure Axel gave her this room on purpose.“You can’t be walking around naked.” Kira shrugged as Rebecca walked towards her.“Didn’t know someone was here.” Rebecca replied as she picked the gown from the bed.“Courtesy?” “Axel wants you to put it on.” Kira informed. She observed the dress for a while before moving her gaze to Kira. “It’s late for goodness sake, why should I put this on?” It was a long black sleeveless go

He took slow strode towards her and when he got to her front, he grabbed her wrist, his fingers stroking the butterfly tattoo.“When I first saw this, I was excited because it means you do not hate me as you claim…” He looked up and found her staring at him with confusion displayed in her brown eyes.“You have all the reason to hate me, Becca, you really do. But please…” he took a deep breath, a bit hesitant. “Do not hate me for long.” Rebecca was too confused to speak. She didn’t know what to say or how to react. Indeed she hated him for what he did, but for some days now she had been seeing him differently, even after persuading
