Chapter 18

Emily and Ethan exchanged a glance, knowing that they had to act fast. The right-hand man had a detonator in his hand, and the bomb was counting down.

"We have to disarm the bomb," Ethan said, his voice steady.

Emily nodded her eyes on the timer. They only had a few seconds left.

As Ethan moved towards the right-hand man, Emily covered him, firing her weapon at anyone who got in their way.

But just as Ethan was about to reach the right-hand man, he was tackled by a gang member.

Emily fired her weapon, taking down the gang member, but it was too late. Ethan was on the ground, and the right-hand man had pressed the detonator.

Emily felt a wave of panic wash over her as the building shook, debris raining down on them. But as the dust settled, she saw Ethan standing in front of her, unharmed.

"How did you...?" she started to say.

Ethan smiled. "I disarmed the bomb just in time," he said. "But we have to get out of here."
