RUBY~
“Ruby, wait and listen to me. You should take the alimony for your own safety,” Michael called after me. I met him rushing into the house when I got to the doorsteps of the front entrance. He chose to pass there since the guests are in the garden in the backyard. I stopped some steps away from the door and looked back. “You wanted me to leave, right? So be it; let’s not meet again!” I turned around to leave again, but this bastard rushed after me and grabbed my hand, trying to force the check into my hand. “You can’t survive out there alone, Ruby. Take this money,” he pleaded again. Oops, it seems like he still had some compassion left in him. How could I have forgotten that I am a motherless child and have no good relationship with Ella’s mom? I hissed again and tore the check. “Have a nice honeymoon with your mate. I have nothing to do with you anymore; save your money for the dogs!” “But you have no one? Everyone knows you as my wife; it will be foolish to leave you poor, so take the money and live happily.” He said again, which only got me angry. Painfully, I looked back at him. “You knew I had no one but you, yet you left me for my sister? Your story is for the gods, Mich; I have no motherfucking time to spare, please! But remember that this so-called mate of yours is not there with you when you are in pain; she’s not there for you when you have limited time to live; she was not there when you needed a kidney donor, but it was this Omega that was not your mate that was there… it was me who underwent that pain so you could be alive today.” “Ruby, I…” “Stop!” I raised my hand to abort whatever he had to say. “Go to your mate Mich.” After painstakingly saying this, I left the house gingerly. It was very hard to leave the house, which we both contributed money to buy, but I had to leave. I don’t have a child for him nor any pregnancy; it will be so foolish of me to cling to him. As I dragged my bags towards the gate, a few of the guests who were either by their car or fucking in some corner sighted me, and I could hear whispers. “Isn’t she a bride having a wedding anniversary? Where is she going with her bags?” “So she looked disheveled; did she lose a pregnancy or what?” I could only hiss at those words as I walked towards the gate. My legs became heavier as I walked, but I held on to my determination. Just as I was about to open the gate, a hand came from nowhere and held my wrist, stopping me from moving any further. My movement stopped abruptly, and the atmosphere suddenly grew cold. I looked up slowly, but the fellow’s long hair covered a part of his face, which made me unable to see his face. His grip tightened, which got me more alert as I tried yanking my hand from him. Then, as cool and serene as possible, I heard a magnetic voice ask, “Aren’t you the woman I slept with last year?” I hissed lightly and tried snatching my hand from his, but this cool and serene-voiced man held me tightly, making me lose my patience, and I looked at him through the anger inside of me, “Are you drunk? Look for the woman you fucked elsewhere because I never met you before.” The man’s lips quivered as if he was trying to be sure of what he said. But then he sniffed the air and grabbed me more tightly. “Last year at Drunk Stature Hotel, I could never forget this scent; it’s you.” This man is obviously drunk, I think, mustering up all strength, and I pushed him back, and his grip on my hand loosened, giving me the chance to grab my bags again. Why waste my time here with a drunk man when I have a lot on my plate at the moment? I touched the gate handle again to leave, but this man grabbed me again, and a strange wind suddenly started blowing, almost lifting me up, but his grip on me became stronger, and slowly, I felt my head heavy as the wind. The whooshing sound of the wind slowed down its pace, and slowly, my eyelids also grew heavy, and then... all black. ~~~~~~ An odd smell grabbed my nostrils. My eyes were tightly shut, and I tried to move, but I couldn’t. I heard a faint sound not far from me; I groaned. The headache I felt was so severe that my eyes flung wide open and stared at a dim light, my heart beating rapidly. I was frightened to the core as I wondered where I might be and how I got here. Suddenly, I heard footsteps behind me. “Oh, you are finally awake.” An unfamiliar voice said. A figure walked and stood in front of me. An average-height man with short dark hair. In the dark, I could see his blue eyes fixed on me, and I wondered who this handsome stranger might be. He smiled. “How do you feel now?” He asked as he sat beside me. But I didn’t answer; seeing him act all nice creeps the hell out of me. I watched him bring out some pills and a glass of water, which he offered to me with a pleasant smile as well. “Here, have this; it will help you recover.” I turned my head away. Yet, he smiled. “You don’t have to be afraid of me; I am here to help you.” He said. Despite the creepiness, there was this warm assurance in his voice that I find hard to resist, but remembering that I found myself here after fainting in the arms of a stranger after Michael’s betrayal made me turn my head again, I am done trusting people. “Who are you?” I asked even though my throat was dry and my voice was hoarse. The man before me adjusted himself as he sighed deeply, “Sorry for not introducing myself, but I am Leo, the pack doctor.” “Pack doctor? Why?” He smiled again. “You were brought here last night because you fainted, but there was a deep wound on your leg, which will take time to heal because you haven’t felt your wolf yet.” Immediately, the scene of how I got the wounds came crumbling in. Michael! The scene of him marking Ella was plastered heavily on my mind. My heart twisted in pain as the horrible memories flooded in. Tears welled up in my eyes, but who will sympathize with a crazy woman like me who gave her kidney to a man who was not even her mate? Scoffs. I scanned the room with a raised eyebrow; something definitely looks fishy, because this hospital, nor the doctor, looks familiar. “Where is this, and who brought me here?” I implored. Dr. Leo took off his hand gloves. I watched him wash his hands in a sink not too far away from where I lay. The smile on his face never faded as he did all these, which makes him look even more suspicious. I doubt that drunkard brought me here because he was clearly drunk when asking me those strange questions. “You are in the Dominant Lycan pack, our Regal Pack,” he announced. My eyes widened in shock. “Lycans? Regal?” I mumbled. I have heard so much about the Lycans and how powerful they are; ordinarily a Lycan is enough, but Regal Pack? The most feared pack in North America, whose Lycan King was cursed. I was dead—struck by this. “Did a drunk man bring me here? Or… tell me, how did I get here?” I asked all at once because I couldn’t help but feel tense. An Omega like me in a Lycan Pack is definitely in trouble. Leo laughed. “No drunk man brought you; the man that brought you was perfectly fine and okay. Also, why did you look so tense? Lycans don’t hurt even though we might be different from others.” I was skeptical and couldn’t hide my curiosity. “But… But I am an Omega?” “There is no discrimination here in Regal Pack.” He replied again with another beautiful smile. Suddenly, the door of the room opened, and a very tall but breathing man walked in. His hair was as dark as a raven, and the longest I have ever seen on a man’s head seems longer than the one I saw last night. Those hairs covered his face, but the moment he entered fully, I couldn't help but gasp at this man’s beauty. This cannot be the drunk man from last night, can he? “You…..”PYRRHUS~“Why did you save me?” She asked, her eyes not leaving me immediately I stood down beside her.I didn’t know what to say, I glanced at Leo who bowed at me.“I shall take my leave now, Lycan. You can take your time” He said and walked out of the room leaving me with her.The room went dead silent.I walked closer to where she lay.“Stop!” She said in a very tough tone, her hazel eyes as sharp as ever, “Don’t come close to me, I don’t know why you brought me to your pack of all places when you could have taken me to the hospital in my pack. Tell me what other motives did you have?”I watched her. There was something fierce about her that I couldn’t explain, one that drove me out of my reach in a way that surprised me. I just felt intimidated by this woman so much that I felt myself obeying her to her gestures.“I… just… I just think you look like someone that I have met in the past, you don't have to thinking about it much I'm not interested in you or anything.."“That you also
PYRRHUS~“You……….” she looked very shocked to see me. Last night, she must have thought I was a drunk man , but I am not drunk, I mean everything that I said.I stared at her as she pointed that accusing finger at me, our eyes unable to let go.There was something strange about her that I couldn’t tell but her beauty was one I couldn’t ignore as I remembered how sad and disheveled she looked last night before fainting.I don’t know what came over me all of a sudden but I was broken to see her so down, I heard it’s her wedding anniversary with a Beta of an inferior pack, but seeing her leaving the house with her bags made me wonder what happened to this beauty.I felt torn inside of me as she fainted, all I could think about was the possibility of dying very soon, I can’t believe I would be so scared for a woman as this one.Scared that she might end up like HER. Scared that I will still hold her lifeless body in my arms like I did HERS. But it's all good that I met her earlier. Just

RUBY~I stood frozen in the grand foyer, my heart pounding as I heard his words echoed in my mind: "Let's get divorced."The weight of his declaration weighed over me like a tidal wave, leaving me breathless. Did he just say he wanted a divorce? I mean, asking me, Ruby Moon, who gave him my kidney? On our wedding anniversary while the guests are still outside waiting for us? No! He can't do that."Michael, please," I quickly implored, stepping forward, desperation clawing at my voice. "Can we just talk about this? I know things are complicated right now, but we can work through it. I can't lose you! We have been married for years, Mich, we share the same kidney, we promised not to leave each other, didn’t we?"He turned his cold gaze toward me, and the distance between us felt like an insurmountable chasm."Ruby, there's nothing left to discuss," he said flatly, his tone devoid of the warmth it once held. I could feel the chill of his rejection wrapping around me, suffocating my hopes
RUBY~ONE MONTH AGO"Congratulations Mrs. Osborne, you and your husband will be discharged by tomorrow," the doctor announced.I managed to smile; the acupuncture point and the surgery stitches still hurt like hell. I can't really move my mouth much. The doctor checked my husband's pulse before leaving us alone, and then I wheeled the wheelchair I was sitting in towards my husband, who was on the bed.His face broke into a gentle smile, which I always loved. "Thank you so much, Ruby. I will never forget this."I managed a chuckle and leaned over to feel his pulse. His body temperature is now stable; I couldn't be more than grateful."Hubby, are you fine? Does the surgery stitch still hurt?” I asked with concern, ignoring my own pain.He smiled again, “You should be fine first; what about your stitches?”“The transplant was successful; now you and I share the same kidney, so don’t worry about my stitches; I’ll be fine soon, I said in bare whispers as I held his hand."We are now one.
