PYRRHUS~ 

I sank back to my swivel chair and watched Shaman drink his coffee before I begin my words. 

After he'd taken enough sip, he looks up with a smile, "I'm fine now, My king. You can tell me what you want to say now" 

I nod. "I thought you wouldn't honor my invitation?" 

"No my King" He bowed again. "Things haven't been nice these days. I traveled to China for meditation on the Tao mountain with some other shamans and I was so immersed in meditation so much that I forgot to call you" 

"It's okay. So what did you see about the pack? I'm sure the goddess would tell you something about the pack right?" I ask before sipping my own coffee. 

He smiled again, "Lycan Pyrrhus, you don't have to worry yourself about things like that. I meditated for 33 days and this pack is the first pack to experience peace for 333 years straight. You're the luckiest King alive, Lycan Pyrrhus" 

I dropped the cup. I'm glad to hear that the pack is doing well and since that is assured, I should think of myself now. 

"So since these days you haven't been around, alot has been happening around me that I feel you should know about" I inform him and he became more attentive, "I feel that there have been some changes in my body recently and those terrifying dreams I do have are now disappearing" 

The shaman frowned for a while before taking his inquisitive eyes off me to meditate. 

If I'm to list the people I trust about my health and wellness then he's going to be the him second after Theo which is my wolf. He was a old Gamma who was born from the long lines of the pack shamans. 

After being silent for a while, he faced me again and asked calmly, "What changes?"

I stare at him for a while, looking at him I have a feeling that he had figured out something but wanted to hear what I have to say first. "Tell me what you see first" I demanded. 

"Lycan Pyrrhus you're a lucky man" He beamed suddenly. "I'm not sure who but I have this feeling that you have someone new in your life at this moment" 

I smiled cheerfully, "You're still very efficient like you always are" 

"Lycan Pyrrhus you don't have to feel too insecure" He laughed back, "The moon goddess only gave me and my family that special gift to always see people's mind even with someone like you"

We both laugh that off then he got to business, "So who's the new person around?" 

"My Luna" I began but he's already shocked. "I crowned a new Luna this month" 

"OMG, Lycan Pyrrhus are you for real?" He almost yell, "But the curse...." 

"Exactly why I called you!" I cut in. "I have slept with Ruby last year accidentally. As you know, the fate of the women around me, I feared she would die too and last month I happen to meet her again which marks five months until it's two years for her death" 

The shaman is thrown off guard with my explanation. His mouth is ajar and his jaws dropped as if he just saw a ghost. It hard to believe I know it even for shamans like him, he would obviously find it too surprising. 

"Lycan Pyrrhus you crown her your Luna when you know she'll be dying in the next five months??" 

"I had no choice" I explained. "The elders are at my neck to get a Luna and since she happens to be my mate, I thought... I thought of giving her a dignified last moments" 

The monk spread out his hands and stated, "You're indeed a righteous man Lycan Pyrrhus. But what will you do after her death?" 

I had to frown at his indefinite question. "Exactly why I called you here. Now that she's with me, I don't have bad dreams anymore. I feel more connected to her more than the others. I really don't want her to die" 

The shaman stared for what seems like ages before saying helplessly, "Your fate ha been written right from the day you're born Lycan Pyrrhus. You're the first, as long as I remember in the history of Lycan Kings to be cursed like this. I don't know what to do. The goddess remains quiet about you I'm sorry"

My heart sank and I immediately became gloomy. His response is still thesame even after all these months that we haven't sit down to talk. 'The goddess remains quiet about you' has always being his response. 

I banged my palm angrily to the table. "Then the goddess must be crazy!" I can't help my anger, "Why did it have to be me? I lost three women that I've loved dearly to this darn curse! Should I stay without having sex now? Does your goddess want me to remain celibate for life?" 

"You don't have to say it like that King. Her case might be different" he sighed and took another sip from his coffee. "She's your mate and it's possible she doesn't die. Just keep treating her well and let's wait for five months!"

"How is that possible?" I looked at him through my anger. "I have lost my first mate to this curse. Now Ruby will be different?"

"Being fated is different from being ordinary mates Lycan Pyrrhus!" He quip. "Ruby is fated to be your mate and never to have another mate but that one you're taking about is just a mate" 

I stood up from my table without any other words. No amount of argument would make me win him in word to word exchange. "Have your coffee and be comfortable before leaving. I have an appointment" I tell him before dashing out.

In the western restaurant situated at the heart of Regal Pack. Lycan Pyrrhus Oberoi held a knife and fork elegantly and cut the delicate beef on his plate.

A violin player was playing melodious music on the side, and the entire high-end restaurant appeared tranquil and full of atmosphere.

After he left his office, he had wanted to go to the hundred year old tree to meditate quietly alone when Selena suddenly called him for lunch. 

Serene smiled and began the conversation when she has noticed the frown on his brows "The food here is really delicious. No wonder it's very popular"

Lycan Pyrrhus only nod without any expression "Yeah"

Selena saw that Pyrrhus's expression wasn't favouring her and it's very cold and unaccommodating so she ask curiously, "Pyrrhus is anything going on?"

Pyrrhus looked up slightly. "Maybe I didn't sleep well last night. Don't think too much. I'm fine"

Selena's face fell slightly, and she looked at him with a slightly resentful gaze. "Have you thought about my suggestion to move out and live with you? You know I'm a very jealous type and I can't contain the idea of you and that Omega living together"

"Stop saying that Lena!" His voice almost sound aggressive. "You can't move in with me that fast. I'm still thinking about it"

Selena put down her knife and fork angrily. "Why are you yelling at me? Isn't she an Omega?"

Pyrrhus got more annoyed at being questioned like this, but thinking of the risks attached to getting Selena which including constant whining from her and bombarding him with calls, he calmed down and dropped the fork. "Why don't you understand things from my own point of view? Ruby is my Luna and what will the elders and the pack members say when they hear that I bring my childhood friend in to live with us?" 

"You ... Are you afraid of being discovered, or you don't want to be separated from your Luna at all!" Selena couldn't take it anymore. "She's your Luna who only entered your life recently, but I'm your friend and I've been in your life before you're crowned!"

Pyrrhus was stunned. This is the only hicco Selena uses whenever she wants to collect something from him. 

Selena stood up immediately. "If you don't want to be separated from her, then I'll leave. I'll go back to Paris and kill myself there so that you won't have to clear the mess of my death. How about that?"

With that, Selena picked up her bag and walked out without looking back. Pyrrhus put down his knife and fork and sat there, not chasing after her.

Of course, he wanted to tell Selena that he was must in a contract with Ruby but she's hellbent with her hatred for Ruby and doesn't want to listen to him.

They had at least had the most intimate relationship, and that was something he couldn't deny.

Very soon, he reached home.

Before he entered the house, he seemed to hear Ruby talking on the phone.

"I'm no longer your leverage!!" Ruby yelled.
