Gabriel's POV

Brandon smiled, nodding his head like a teacher praising a student who finally got the answer right. "Yeah, that's...me."

The constant, unwavering smile sent a deep, freezing chill straight through my spine. It wasn't normal. Nobody stands over a tied up person in a dark room and looks that genuinely happy. It made him look completely detached from reality.

"What... why did you kidnap me?" I stammered, my voice shaking so badly I could barely form the words. "Where am I?"

  • CRUEL DESIRES: MY BULLY TURNED STEP BROTHER    Pocket Knife

Gabriel's POV I stared at him, trying to process what he just said. Murderers are not usually yappers right? Look at him. Brandon was just standing there, threatening me, talking about his mom and his therapy sessions. He didn't even look like a murderer. He was wearing a pink, tight tank top, black shorts, and flashy jewelry that jingled slightly whenever he moved. Murderers don't dress like that, right? They wear trench coats or all black or leather jackets. They don't wear neon pink tank tops and talk about their mothers forcing them to go to therapy. He had to be bluffing. He was just a spoiled, dramatic, deeply unstable kid who wanted to scare the life out of me because his ego was bruised. Brandon suddenly clapped his hands, cutting me off right in the middle of my thoughts. "Hello! You are in your last moments and you are zoning out." I snapped my gaze back up to him, my chest still heaving but my mind trying desperately to hold onto that small thread of hope. Oka

Gabriel's POV Brandon smiled, nodding his head like a teacher praising a student who finally got the answer right. "Yeah, that's...me." The constant, unwavering smile sent a deep, freezing chill straight through my spine. It wasn't normal. Nobody stands over a tied up person in a dark room and looks that genuinely happy. It made him look completely detached from reality. "What... why did you kidnap me?" I stammered, my voice shaking so badly I could barely form the words. "Where am I?" Instead of answering, Brandon just kept that bright expression on his face. He turned and dragged a heavy wooden chair out from a dark corner of the room and set it down directly opposite me. He sat down casually, crossing one leg over the other, completely at ease. He began to tap his leg with one finger, his eyes wide and unblinking as he just stared at me, studying my face like I was some kind of strange exhibit. The silence stretched on, the tapping of his finger the only sound in the ro

  • CRUEL DESIRES: MY BULLY TURNED STEP BROTHER    His Rivals

Gabriel's POV The darkness wasn't just empty, it felt heavy, like it was pressing down directly onto my chest. My head was pounding with this sick, wet thudding behind my eyes, the kind of ache that makes your stomach turn every time you try to blink. My mouth tasted like dry copper and whatever chemical they had stuffed down my throat before everything went black. I tried to lift my hand to rub my temple, just a natural reflex because the pain was splitting my skull open but my arm didn’t move. It jerked back, hard, and the sudden resistance sent a sharp jolt of wood scraping against my wrists. I blinked fast, staring into nothing. Nothing. Just pitch black. I tried to pull my right arm forward again. Same thing. A thick, rough cord was biting deep into the skin around my wrists, pinning my hands backwards against the frame of a heavy chair. My legs were loose, but when I tried to kick out, my sneakers just hit empty air and then the solid thud of floorboards. Think. Gab

  • CRUEL DESIRES: MY BULLY TURNED STEP BROTHER    Piece Of Garbage

Derek's POV "I don't know," I muttered, the sheer helplessness of the situation dropping like a stone in my gut. "But I am filing a report for missing person." I hung up, turning around to face the chief of police who had followed me out to the parking lot. I walked right up to his face, my expression completely frozen over. "File a missing person report for my stepbrother, Gabriel Pierce. Right now." The chief wiped his face, looking uncomfortable under the harsh parking lot lights. "Wouldn't you want to wait for 24 hours? That's standard procedure for......" "No," I snapped, cutting him off with ice in my tone. "I don't follow the law, and you don't too. I want your men searching every corner for my brother. Put his picture up everywhere and make sure you find him." He nodded quickly, intimidated by the sheer venom in my voice, and turned back toward the station. I threw myself into the driver's seat, slammed the door, and drove off. The ride back to my apartment wa

  • CRUEL DESIRES: MY BULLY TURNED STEP BROTHER    Enemies

Derek's POV I forced myself to take a deep, shaky breath shoving the suffocating panic down into my chest as I slammed the car into drive and tore toward the precinct. Outside, the city was practically screaming my victory. I passed massive digital billboards flashing breaking news banners, the internet already blowing up with reports on Michael Blackwood and Julian Rivera. Thanks to the concrete evidence I had dumped directly into the feds laps, their entire empire was crumbling live. Their family stocks were plummeting into the dirt, their assets getting frozen by the second. I had ruined them. Completely. But as I stared at the flashing red lights up ahead, it didn't feel like a win. It felt like nothing. I parked haphazardly, practically kicking my car door open as I stormed into the police station. The noise of the bullpen phones ringing, radios buzzing grated on my nerves, making my jaw ache from clenching it so hard. I bypassed the front desk and marched straight up to th

  • CRUEL DESIRES: MY BULLY TURNED STEP BROTHER    The Bait

Derek's POV Mike picked up, and the immediate blast of bass and drunken laughter from his end made me want to rip someone's throat out. "Are you with Gabe?" I screamed into the mic, the polished, calm version of myself completely disintegrating into the night air. "Is he with you guys? Answer me!" "Jeez stop yelling, Gabriel isn't with us," Mike said, his voice slow and heavy with alcohol. "He is not here okay. We haven't seen him...Erica is here, you should talk to her instead...." "We left him with you, Derek!" Erica’s voice cut through from the background, muffled but sharp with instant, piercing panic. "What do you mean? Derek, what's going on? don't tell me our baby carrot is missing?" My throat completely closed up. The red silk on the driveway....my empty apartment. It all clicked. The realization hit me like a physical blow to the sternum, stealing the air right out of my lungs. He hadn't run away. Gabriel was gone. Someone had taken him. "Fuck!" I roared, s
