NYMERA POV
Zephyros’ frown deepened. His breath was ragged and rapid. He was beyond pissed.
He didn't like the disturbance, and I knew what was coming next.
He opened his mouth to talk, but I beat him to it. "You don't have to send him away like that. It could actually be important. Dorian wouldn't come here early for nothing," I said, caressing his chest.
Zephyros furrowed his brow and tilted his head, like I had gone crazy. Well, who knows? Maybe his madness had rubbed off on me.
In fact, I should be hiding. Hoping I could hide in the ground. I gestured to him with my head. Reminding him to grant Dorian permission.
Slowly, Zephyros' anger was replaced with confusion. This would be the first time I would see him uncertain about something.
He sighed and brushed back his hair with his fingers. "Come in!" He growled loudly.
We heard the creaking of the door, indicating he had entered the living room.
Zephyros faced me and stared at me for a while. "Wait here. I'll make it quick," he said, but I didn't respond.
He turned to head outside the bedroom when I grabbed his huge arm, stopping him. He snapped his head in my direction.
"Do you have to go out to meet him?" I blurted out.
He raised an eyebrow. Yeah, what's wrong with me? I told this man to let Dorian in. But the thought of Dorian in the next room made a devilish idea creep into my head.
"I meant, do you have to meet him immediately? Let him wait for some time," I retorted slowly.
"What do you...?" I didn't let him finish before I pulled him by the neck and slammed my lips on his.
He froze. My brain wasn't functioning properly. I wasn't thinking straight. Was the kiss out of revenge? Partially.
I wanted Dorian to know how it felt like to be ignored, insignificant and insulted.
Thankfully, Zephyros reciprocated, but he was all over me. My legs wobbled because I stood on my toes.
He noticed my tiredness and carried me. Instinctively, I wrapped my legs around his waist. The towel rode up, showing more skin.
Zephyros bit my lower lip, and I gasped. He took advantage of that and invaded my mouth with his tongue. Again, I couldn't dominate him.
I wrapped my arms around his neck. He left my lips and placed feather kisses on my neck down to my cleavage.
I closed my eyes and threw my head backward. As I basked in the pleasure.
His large hands supported my weight as he grabbed my butt.
"Your Majesty, are you busy?" Dorian's voice rang out, but Zephyros didn't reply.
The thought of making out with Dorian's uncle while he was in the next room added to my excitement.
Zephyros spanked me, and I shamelessly moaned without a care in the world.
Will I regret doing this? Yes, but do I care now? No.
How many times had Dorian cheated on me? Treated me like trash... I also have needs, and Zephyros does it better than him.
Suddenly, the door creaked open, and I hid under the duvet.
My heart pounded against my chest. Beads of sweat trickled down my face. I parted my lips a bit to steady my breath.
What was I thinking, jumping on Zephyros like that? What came over me?
"How dare you burst into my room without my permission!" Zephyros roared. His breathing was ragged, and I knew he was close to losing it.
"I apologize, Your Majesty. I thought something was wrong," begged.
"What could be wrong with me? Do you know what you just did? Interrupting my moment, my woman," he barked.
Huh? Did I hear him correctly? Who claims another man's mate in front of him? Oh, the dangers you're exposing me to, Zephyros..
"Get out! I'll join you soon. And what you came to discuss had better be important," Zephyros growled
"Yes, Your Majesty," Dorian stated, and I heard the door close.
I pulled the duvet down a bit and peeped. Thankfully, he was gone. The heat was suffocating me.
I coughed softly. Not too loud for Dorian to hear. Zephyros patted my back, with his other hand clenched.
"What was that all about?" Zephyros asked, his eyes piercing mine.
My breath hitched. Oh, no. What have I done? I just used the king to get back at Dorian. That was insulting.
My head hung low as I bit my lower lip.
"When I talk to you, look at me," he groaned, but I didn't respond. My tongue was tied.
He gripped my chin, forcing me to look at him.
"I apologize for doing what I did earlier," I whispered.
He leaned forward. His face was an inch away from mine. "Why? Because you think you insulted me?"
I nodded. His gaze drifted to my lips and let out a dark chuckle.
"If I don't allow it, you can't use me. Besides, why did you have to go that far just to deal with Dorian? If you want, I can do it for you.”
I pinched myself to make sure I wasn't dreaming. He closed the distance completely and brought his face to my neck.
His hot breath fanned my neck, which made goosebumps fill my skin.
"You, Seliora Creek, can use me however you deem fit. Not only am I your demon, I belong to you," he said in a low voice.
What was he saying? How can I own the king? Who am I?
"My woman!" he declared, and I swallowed heavily.
How could a forbidden word feel so right in my ears?
With shaky hands, I pushed him back a bit. "Uhm, Dorian is still waiting. Won't you like to know the reason for his visit?" I asked, trying to change the topic.
"I know why he came," he answered, standing to his feet.
"Ohh," I nodded.
He walked towards the wine cellar and took a bottle of whiskey. "It's about the battle of survival, in honor of me.”
Battle of honor? My eyes widened at the realization. The females of the pack are to fight, and since I'm the Luna, I'm not excluded.
Quickly, I rushed out of bed. Fastening my towel. I clasped my hands and paced back and forth.
"You...you didn't agree to it, right?" I stuttered.
He wrapped his arms around me from behind. "I'm disappointed you have little faith in me. Would I allow my woman to fail?"
I broke free from the hug. "You don't get it. I'm naturally weak. My wolf is dormant. I can't speak of surviving, not to mention winning. I'm doomed, Zephyros," I said with a cracked voice.
"You may be weak, but I won't let you die! And whoever dares hurt you will suffer for that," he retorted
I shook my head, folding my arms. He doesn't understand. The battle of survival hadn't been done in years. So why now?
"Did Dorian tell you who suggested it?" I asked.
"He is desperate to please me and to prove himself worthy of being the alpha. He's not smart enough to come up with such a plan,"
The devils of the clan wouldn't pull such a stunt now because I still have to conceive Dorian's child.
Then, that leaves me with one person in mind.
"Ophelia!" Zephyros and I blurted out together.
When will she stop? Till I'm dead?
Hello sweeties, who else is shocked that Nymera took the initiative this time?🫣😁
CHAPTER EIGHTEENNYMERA POVI opened my eyes slowly as I heard a knock on the door. I remained unmoved for a minute with my gaze, fixated on the ceiling. It's been a day since Dorian ordered my release. I should be grateful that he cared, but the knot in my stomach has refused to come undone. The knock came on again, and I sat up on the bed. I took in a sharp breath at the ache and pain that wrecked my body.Who would come to my room this early? The sun had just risen. After putting on my slippers, I limped to the door and unlocked it.Opening it, my breath got caught in my throat. My eyes widened.Dorian's dark eyes pierced mine. I bowed my head and bit my lower lip. It's pathetic what has become of me as his Luna and mate.He moved forward, and I took steps back. He walked into the room with his hands shoved in his pockets. I didn't stop backing away, and neither did he stop advancing towards me.My back hit the wall, and I had nowhere else to run to. I swallowed heavily. What does
CHAPTER SEVENTEENNYMERA POVI cried out as Ophelia poured salt water on my wounds. Tears flowed freely as the liquid stung painfully."Do you know what I hate about you?" She groaned. Grabbed a handful of my hair and pulled it roughly, earning another scream from me.I felt her breath on the side of my face. "You, thinking nothing can get to you. You are just an arrogant whore"Then she smacked my face, and my head hung low. My cheek stung, but I couldn't touch it because my hands were bound with rough chains attached to the wall."I didn't expect much from you, and now I see more reasons why Dorian despises you. A prostitute in the guise of a noble lady," she chuckled.I sniffled and spat out the liquid with metallic taste in my mouth. Seeing how much effect I had on her, how restless she becomes when it involves Nymera, made me smile lightly."What's so funny?" She hissed, but I remained silent. Then she stormed toward me and held my chin, forcing me to lock eyes with her."Answe
CHAPTER SIXTEENNYMERA POVI snuggled deeper into the hard mattress, but the scent calmed my nerves.Slowly, I opened my eyes, not because I wanted to, but the hotness of the sun ray forced me to.I furrowed my brows when I noticed the so called mattress was actually someone's bare chest. Confused about what to do, I shut my eyes, pretending to still be asleep. His scent hit my nose - Zephyros? Gently, I lifted my head, and he was indeed the one. He was fast asleep.I was supposed to take care of him. How did I end up laying on his chest? Did anything happen again? He was now wearing black trousers. Instead of dressing up completely, he intentionally left his upper body bare.Gently, I raised my head so I wouldn't wake him. I rested my arm on his chest. His hot breath fanned my face.My lips tugged into a small smile. I batted my eyelashes, butterflies danced in my stomach as I traced my fingers lazily on his face. How can a monster, a devil, be so handsome and calm like he's the pur
CHAPTER FIFTEENNYMERA POV"The blood moon will appear tonight. Hurry up and finish your tasks for today as soon as possible," a guard urged a maid as she passed."Why? The blood moon doesn't affect us. So why should we be overly cautious?" The young lady asked. The guard let out a groan. "Of course, it doesn't affect us, but it affects the king. His madness worsens every night of the blood moon.”I held onto my bowl of food as I had stopped walking a few minutes ago, when I heard them mention Zephyros.I hung my head low and sighed heavily. "'Maybe I could be of some help,' my subconscious suggested.I chuckled bitterly. How could that possibly be? A weak excuse of a werewolf who had never shifted and her wolf dormant since she was born.Even the Alpha finds me pathetic and unworthy, talk less of the Lycan king. I have nothing to offer him.Zephyros needs a strong woman beside him. One that would be as powerful as he is. He doesn't need a loser by his side.I quickly blinked back my
CHAPTER FOURTEENNYMERA POVIt's been three days since I found out about Fiona's scheme and since I told Zephyros to stay away from me.Thankfully, the family hasn't contacted me in any way. Fiona seems to be preoccupied with something. And Zephyros, I don't know why I feel sad whenever I think about him.Indeed, I told him to stay away from me, and it seems like he took my words seriously. I haven't seen him since that night.I sighed as I lay on the bed. These days, I feel drained. Everything that had happened exhausted me.My thoughts spiraled off to Zephyros for the thousandth time in the last one hour. Thinking about it, he's the only one who was real with me.Not once did he pretend. His madness may get the best of him sometimes, but he always treated me like a priceless jewel.A lone tear dropped from my eye. My lips quivered as I held my old pillow tightly to my chest. I've missed him.His care, possessiveness, love, the way he makes me feel and his madness. I've missed it all.
CHAPTER THIRTEENNYMERA POVI continued crying as I walked back to my room. Shame clothed me. Thankfully, it was dark."Nymera? What the hell are you doing in my room naked? Oh, you got needy and you think the best thing to do was seduce me?" Dorian's voice rang out.He grabbed Ophelia and kissed her passionately. The picture remained so vivid in my head.He then faced me with a sly smirk on his face. "You saw how I kissed her, right? The passion and love. You will never know that feeling until you die," he spat. His words stung me. Although it was not the first time, I don't think I could ever get used his heart wrenching words. My legs gave out, and I fell, bruising my arm. I curled myself into a ball and sobbed.I felt a presence, and I looked up. Zephyros towered over me. His eyes were stone cold. His facial features hardened.I diverted my gaze and wiped away my tears and stood up and asked with a cracked voice. "Do you need something, Your Majesty?"There was silence. I shifted m
