LOGINCHAPTER FOUR — FURIOUS.
DARIUS.
“Alpha.. we — we lost her.“ My eyes snapped wide as one of the guards said amidst rough pants.
I stared at the rest of them who were sidelined with him as they cowered once they met my already flaming eyes. Drenched in the rain and their heads bowed low, they had indeed failed me.
My jaw clenched, their words cutting through like blades on skin. I smelled failure. It burned through my nostrils, humiliating me before my wolf.
My fingers curled into a sharp fist, veins shooting out of my arm as my wolf growled in defeat.
“You lost her?“ I snarled, words taunting as I left my inner chamber to meet with them. One of them flinched. My eyes glowed, a gleam of yellow in them.
The tips of my nails pierced my palms that as I wrapped my hands around his neck lifting his heavy body like some light weight bag, any deeper they would split into claws. I sucked against my teeth and then slammed him against the stone pillar, my grip tightening.
His eyes turned red, veins shot up around the neck as he gasped for air and kicked his legs helplessly, but one thing was that: he never dared to brush his hands against mine while he struggled. Even near death.
A smirk tugged at the edge of my lips, as I turned to the others who flinched.
“A really simple task you all couldn't perform?“
I turned towards the guard again who was already bleeding from the mouth. But I wouldn't let him go so easily.
My sword made a tiny clank against an iron as I pulled it out and pressed it against his neck.
His eyes red, begging for mercy.
And until blood smeared his skin did I drop him to the floor with a thud.
Injured, he still joined the rest of them.
How could that girl reject me ? In front of my people, my inferiors.
I took my bow and arrow, stretching it towards the injured guard who knelt down immediately when I changed focus and a caged bird shrieked once my arrow pierced it, feathers exploding against stone.
“Worthless idiots! You all couldn't do something so simple? All you needed to do was run and catch up with someone: just some trembling girl!“ My roar cracked through the tensed air and they cowered even more.
“Tear their throats.“
A smirk of agreement made my lips curl but I restrained.
I sucked in a breath sharp enough to rip through my lungs.
I let out a hot breath.
“Get out,” I spat, voice sharp like a blade.
“All of you. OUT!“
They scurried away like squirrels wanting to survive, the chamber reeking of sweat and fear.
Silence pressed its weight against me once I was alone, my chest heaving, rage rumbling to tear through as the thunder echoed as if it mocked my failure.
“Selene!“ Her name left my throat in a roar as I summoned her, the one who had no power to defile me.
My roar filled the air, raw and demanding.
She stood by the hallway, lips twitching as she trembled. Her eyes wide.
“Walk through.“
She obliged. Her timid steps echoed through the hall, her honey scent filled my nose, just softer than her sister's: if only she knew what it did to me. My insides burned with something more than defiance. My claws itched, my fangs ached to sink into something, anyone as a growl rippled through my chest.
“Come.“ I roared. She froze, her shoulders turning rigid from the command.
She walked through with her fingers curling around the hem of her skirt. I had smirked but once, she locked eyes with me, I snapped.
She shifted uncomfortably and looked towards the floorboards again until she stood in front of me.
“Consume.“
A part of me knew that this was not necessary but the joy was that I would have a meal to taste tonight.
“Alpha..“ her voice low as she whispered, fingers trembling. Her fear only fed my anger.
Still, her lips curled as if they granted me an inaudible consent.
'Take me.'
“Consume her.“ My wolf nudged impatiently again.
This time, I didn't hesitate.
She trembled as I walked closer until..
My lips crashed against her with a sharp demand.
Gasp.
“Darius…” she called my name and my wolf growled even more hungry.
Through my ragged breath, I sized her up by the neck with my hands and dragged her close to my body as I crashed my lips against hers. No gentleness, no room for plea.
I pushed her against the wall, my hands pinned around her shoulders as my body shook with fury that was not meant for her but I poured it all into her nevertheless.
My hands caressed her thighs a little while, I could feel the tip of my bulge brush against her silk skirt.
“Darius…” she muttered, shivering to my touch.
“Little slut!“ I groaned as she gasped my name like some salvation as our bodies slapped against each other, arching further.
Her hands trembled towards my waistline until they finally reached my zippers.
A low growl escaped from me as I yanked the clothes off her with my teeth. Selene gasped. I had not given her the room to catch on her breath, when I slammed my lips against her again. This time, more needy.
I let my tongue savor the taste of her mouth, she arched her body towards me, closer than before.
“Ahhh, Darius.“
Still yet, as I consumed her, every gasp, every shudder, Mira's image haunted me, her defiance from earlier let a rumble in my stomach.
She gasped as I broke away from the kiss and grazed my teeth against her neck, my body pressed against hers, hard. Every thrust fueled by fury channeled by her sister.
Her chest rose and fell under mine. I let rage mix with desire and pinned her wrists even above her head, marking and claiming.
My claws caressed her thighs again and drew faint lines on them.
I positioned myself between her parted thighs and wrapped her legs around my waist pulling her closer to me as I slammed one hard thrust into her.
“Ahh!“ Selene cried out with her nails digging into my back as I filled her completely. The sensation of my thick length stretching her was incredible.
I began to move, slowly, with her sucking on my neck as I made my way to the bedroom.
“Nonsense. I'm the one who needs this, stop your crappy moans!“ I yelled at her as I threw her to the bed.
She winced, but I cared less. At least, not right now.
Left bare as I had unhooked her bra, I pinched her hard on the left and sucked on the other. I felt her hard resolve: one that debated whether to touch me or not.
Until I spanked her.
“Now, spill them all out, no withholding!“ A sharp cry escaped her again, but this time, filled with ecstasy as she threw her hair backwards.
Like music, I began to move. My hips in sync with hers as I rolled in a rhythm, slow and deliberate.
My pace quickened yet she met my pace, but her body still trembled with the force that came from me. The room was filled with our rag breaths and grunts of pleasure from every thrust I sent into her.
Every rage turning to rhythm and every thrust and bite, a punishment in Mira's stead.
When I spilled into her, the air stilled for a moment and then emptiness seeped through, hunger unfed.
My wolf roared inside me, savage.
I let out another sharp growl. Even though I had sent my rage into Selene, it still felt like Mira rejection occurred just now.
“Who's outside?“ Selene's eyes snapped wide as she struggled to sit up.
One of the guards rushed in, head bowed to the floor.
“One slave here now!“ I commanded, and he scurried away.
Chapter 31. BEFORE ANYTHING HAPPENSKAI'S POV. “Where the fuck have you been?” A deep voice roared in the room and that was when I jolted out of reverie. I had walked from Selene's chamber to the palace and walked through the hallway of the king's chamber oblivious of whatever was going on as I marched towards the king's chamber. I had run my hands through my hair constantly, even as I walked. I just didn't get it. She wanted it. I did too. She even dared the king to know. “Then let it kill us.” Her voice replayed in my head causing me to curse underneath my breath. I formed a fist with my hand, my teeth gritted, brows arched in frustration as her words replayed in my head. “About last night, don't get any funny ideas. It was a mistake. We cannot undo it, so forget it.” I bit my lips painfully as it occurred to me that it was just all a lie. What did I even expect? That a king's mate would fall in love with a guard? ‘but she made out with us.’ my wolf barked. And as much
Chapter 30. A MISTAKE. KAI'S POV. A smile lazied at the edge of my lips as I recalled a night ago while the morning rays reflected into my eyes and I didn't move. “Then let it kill us.” A breath of relief escaped me as Selene's words replayed in my head and so I turned to face her on the bed where we had made out and now, we laid on. I tucked a strand of hair that fell over her pretty eyes as I stared into her face, not intending to look away anytime soon as I moved closer to her and caressed her arms gently. I bit my lips at the thought that crossed me once more, I was not sure I could manage still laying down with her. My legs suddenly grew numb, yet heavy at the same time and when she groaned slightly in her sleep, hell — she was undoing me. It took a whole lot of convincing not to wrap my arms around her and swoop her in to close the gap between us but I preferred to just let her lay there and sleep soundly. I glanced over at the wall clock, it was just around eight this mor
Chapter 29. KAI'S POV. THEN LET IT KILL US. The alpha had dismissed me after I had tendered the day's report to him and although he didn't seem to have an interest in the men that had ambushed our space and even killed the Luna, Mira; I dared not object. To him, guards are nothing but tools and I have learnt to guard that to mind which is why I'm the oldest of his servants at the palace. I walked through the hallway, ignoring the squeals of the palace maids that were busy with one or two things, some who dusted the windows as the Alpha can point at a spotless space and still find dirt. Some of them never even tried to leave those spots until I instructed them to. But today that the Alpha seemed to be in a bad mood, I dared not dismiss them else! Trouble. Her highness, Ma'am Selene. Her name clicked to my mind once a palace maid called my name. Kai. I didn't look back, it was normal. It happened everyday, if not her, others would but no one dared to court a partner in the pal
Chapter 28. DESIRE OVER DUTIES. SELENE'S POV. I had stormed outside of Alpha Darius' chamber with unsettlement waving in my chest. I stopped once I was before Kai, different from earlier as I faced him with my side and titled my head to him. “Don't forget to come over for soup by evening.”His eyes twitched and without waiting for him to bow, I walked away to my room with Lila behind me. “Prepare a nice soup for me and my guest.” I muttered almost breathlessly as I didn't care to see the look on her face. When we reached my quarters, I walked bigger steps and shut the door immediately after me, ignoring Lila’s concern. “Are you okay, Her majesty?” Alpha Darius..His name escaped my lips. My nose was filled with the scent of him that clung unto me like dirt. Filthy. I had not cared. I really didn't push. I hadn't wriggled free from his hands because I wanted him inside of me. But not in that manner, not with force, not one sided. Not possessive. But could that even happe
Chapter 27.DARIUS' POV. “Your highness.” she responded as she fought to keep her head raised to meet my gaze. I smirked, scaredy little cat. “What is it that has brought you here!” my voice rose sharper than intended and since It had been spilled, there wasn't any time to take it back. I was so aware I had put her to sleep for fifty days? Or maybe seventy? I had heard the maids rumor about it and once they saw me or even Kai, their lips always went sealed. Well, I didn't care. Now, I felt sweat gather at my forehead, Gabe was the only thing that struck me once Kai gave his report. I should have given order to track whoever the master was but if my consciousness had to be right?I dug my fingers against my palm, “stop it, Darius! We both know he's dead. He couldn't have survived.”I knew I was trying to comfort myself but just if any miracle happened, I felt my nerves tingle until my nose inhales a sharp feminine presence that I'm reminded of Selene. “Why are you here?” She pa
Chapter 26. SELENE'S POV. “Her Majesty isn't too strong yet, where is her highness going to?”“See, I've brought your food.” She added, glancing over the tray in her hands and walking towards the table. Shit, I had planned to just stand by the door and grab the food and leave but now, I was just rising when she had walked in. “To the Alpha. Hand me the tray.” I commanded, my eyes searching the content, well covered and neat. I smiled, although they didn't last. “His highness? He has stopped eating since the banquet. I told you Ma'am Mira died. He's been throwing plates around only and eats only in the middle of the night after many tantrums.”I glared at her, “you don't believe me too? That lady was not Mira!” But no matter how I had tried to make it clear to her a hundred days ago, she just didn't get it. “Hand those over now!” I commanded, a low growl rolling from it. Yet, even with the fear in her eyes, she didn't budge. I could appreciate that. After all, the king doesn't
