A New Beginning

She knew he didn't feel any pain but she had to fight. Her mother, the very root of her being was murdered in cold blood

The reality that she would never see her mother again, not even as a sick person dawned on her and she gave up punching and fighting, letting fate do whatever it wished with her

Wayne grabbed Jack and let him hang on his arm like a jacket as he swindled his way through the dead bodies of Omega wolves

The dried leaves crunched under Wayne's feet as he trod the woods

Rose felt dizzy, blood had flowed into her head. She stole a few glances at the trees they passed by. There were claw marks on the barks of the trees, broken wolf teeth littered the ground. 

Wayne proceeded to the gate of the castle. A werewolf still in his human form jerked up immediately

"These little wolves could run but never hide from someone like you. You're the best hunter wolf in the Alpha pack aren't you? I'm sure you'd be duly rewarded" the gate guard grinned foolishly

 "How about I come along with you on your next hunting adventure so I can learn a thing or two huh?" He gave Wayne a cunning smile

 "If you kept to guarding the gate the way I keep to mine, I'm sure you would have become a whole lot useful to the pack" Wayne whined

 The wolf lowered his eyes, feeling intimidated

"Now roll this gate open for me or I'll show you just how skilled I am" Wayne eyed

The wolf scurried about and rolled the gates open, he knew he had crossed the line with Wayne and the latter would not hesitate to make sport of him

As Wayne walked into the territory into the castle, Rose could hear as the wolves howled in salute to Wayne, they were mounted all over the castle.

They kept proceeding from one door to another. The door was guarded by a number of four to five wolves each. Wayne entered the final door and laid the two young wolf children on the floor roughly

"Oww" Rose let out a little scream. She looked over to her brother who was still unconscious. She looked around the room, they were people in it, three ladies and two men specifically

"What's with the boy? Is he by any chance.. dead?" One of the male attendants cocked his head

"The weakling went blank from a single hit. I doubt his usefulness to us" Wayne cast a look on Jack and then on Rose

She shook and drew over to Jack in protection

"I knew the pack could always count on you, Wayne" one of the makes announced with a touch of pride

"Is she in?" Wayne asked, pretending not to hear the compliment

"Well, she's in but taking a nap now. She was actually waiting for your return before she slept off" one of the female maidens replied humbly

She wore a different attire unlike the other two and was much older too. 

"Very well. Take them and get them prepared quickly before the clock strikes three. I'm sure she would be ready to receive them then" Wayne ordered, lighting a cigar

The maidens nodded and walked over swiftly to Rose. Before the young girl could make sense of all that was happening, two of the women took hold of her arms and led her to a dark room

"Please don't hurt me, I've done nothing wrong. I don't even have an idea of what is happening now"  Rose pleaded with the last strength she had

That was all she could do now- plead for no strength was left in her to fight. She heard a switch turn on, the room got illuminated by a bright bulb. The two ladies took her to the bed and made her sit. The third and eldest of them came closer to Rose

"You may carry on now" she dismissed the other two

"Please don't hurt me, I'm innocent" Rose squeaked

She watched the woman's mouth open in a composed laughter

"No child, I'm not trying to hurt you. And I know you're innocent" the elderly lady gave Rose a friendly smile

"Really? So why are we here? What do we have to do with all of this" Rose's eyes sharpened in interrogation

"Easy child, you ask many questions, just like your mother" the woman sat on a chair opposite the bed on which Rose sat

"You know my mother?" Rose leaned forward

"Of course dear, I knew Carol so well. You see, she was nursed in my very arms. Oh how blessed a child she was. She had such radiant beauty all over the Alpha wolf pack that made her peculiar, with her red curly hair" the woman smiled

"And beyond all that beauty was the kindest heart anyone had ever possessed- the reason why I loved her so much. Her heart made her so unique… but she would always wear me out with her questions" she chuckled

"She's gone now. That monster killed her" Rose's head dropped down, tears smeared her face

"Oh dear…" the elderly woman went over and sat beside her 

"Wipe your tears my child" she dried the girl's eyes with a handkerchief 

"Your mother suffered a whole lot when she was still here. It's just so tragic she had to die this way, some call it fate, I don't know. But you have got to be strong and bold, your own fate awaits you. There's so much you're yet to know but just be brave alright? And do what you're told so you don't end up like your mother" she heaved and shook her head pitifully

"Can you tell me kind lady, who these people are and what they want from my brother and I at least?" Rose's  clinged to the elderly woman's hand affectionately

She seemed like a nice person, unlike Wayne. Rose hoped to get some information from her. The woman watched Rose carefully, her heart went out for her. She remembered her Carol
